To act and not to question You mean the military in Nigeria. Right? You go to Jail in the U.S military if you observe an unethical, illegal or immoral act being committed and do or say nothing. |

There is however no doubt that this move would ease pressure on forex demand which would ultimately help the recovery of the Naira....which is the ultimate aim.
Carry go. Keep dreaming. The country's over dependence on oil and the refusal of your leaders to diversify the economy is the reason for the plunge of the dollar. Like it or not, the demand will always be there. abhosts: Signed for Netflix 3 days ago. Myself and Wifey watched 7 HD Movies, 1 Documentary, and 3 Episodes of a Series. Just within 3 days it has exhausted 60GB of Data from Swift that costs 25k. So I have decided to get rid of Netflix for now.
Nigeria is not Ripe for Netflix until our ISPs begin to Offer Fast and Unlimited Internet Subscription. DSTV appears to be the only Reasonably Priced option for now. I remember when everyone was hailing netflix for coming to Nigeria. I thought to myself, "these people don't understand". Lol. . ..You need a dsl line to be able to run Netflix cheaply and effectively at home. |

GodMode: You had the opportunity to live among people of those tribes... that's how you learnt it... You either spent time in the north or grew up in a part of lagos that had mostly Yorubas and northerners neighbors... You attended schools in SW where your friends spoke Yoruba and you were able to learn from them that's why you have preference, you're a fast learner and there are many others like you who didn't have the opportunity you had..
you probably graduated in the 90's or early 2000's... You are spot-on on all accounts. You should change your moniker to sherlock. You missed out on one point though. I played soccer for a long time. Football no get state of origin. That being said, this is the reason i support the Government as regards this move. I learnt a lot from mixing with other tribes. My prejudices were washed away at an early age. |

GodMode: Only 2% of China population are foreigners and see how developed they are.... Don't ever mention those three countries, they were built by foreigners and maintained properly by laws that protect their interest...
Diversity is only an advantage when it is seriously monitored... Ok. If you say so. Obviously i can't convince you otherwise even though the reality on ground proves my argument. I am a prime example. I am not Yoruba. I speak two main Nigerian languages other than my own. I earn extra income and travel extensively strictly because i speak those two languages. If i stuck to my tribe would i have the opportunities i have now? People need to open their minds to new possibilities. |

Politics › Re: FG To Remove State Of Origin by bidemi12(m): 9:29pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
GodMode: You said Nigeria needs an official language and if you read and understood that comment you'll have read the part that said "It's a pity that the colonial masters formed Nigeria (African countries) the way they did, grouping major tribes(people with different identities) together."
The European countries that were multilingual have since dis-integrated and are more peaceful....
If English wasn't Nigeria's official language a South Easterner/Southerner, northerner and foreigners would have to learn how to speak Yoruba fluently before they can school or work in the SW and Yorubas too would need to learn their languages if they want to move out of SW...
The recent sacking of some Virgin Nigeria staffs defends my argument.... they were sacked because Nigerians speak English and since English is British why not just bring British staff.... they didn't sack india and others because of the language barrier... The way you reason is terrifying to say the least. Diversity is an advantage not an impediment. America, france, germany would not be great without it. When you bring people of different minds together you have a diverse way of thinking and solving issues. That fact that the black race does not understand this concept is no one's fault but yours. You think the Visa lottery America does is for nothing? Albert Einstein is a prime example of the advantage of diversity. Without him America would not be a super power. |

GodMode: Your name is online moniker is bidemi and you're denying your heritage... This is I and Wyttcat are talking about...
Its not just the leaders.. Most Yorubas too dey fall hand. If jobs in SW were not given to non-indegenes the SW will not have an influx of other tribes. This is time the use of a brain is required. Bear with me. I just told you that my wife is yoruba which should have informed you that my moniker is my wife's name. Plus, I could as well use ASTRONAUT as my moniker; does that mean i am one? Nigerians need to start using their brains more often. |

olas24u: well the integration program that i know about use to be NYSC and Nigerians are more divided than before and you can divide Nigerians in 5mins if you want to when you meet with them .How many Nigerian languages do you speak?Do you have friends from all over Nigeria.some Nigerians cannot marry other Nigerians because of cultural beliefs. We need an official language that will include the major languages spoken in Nigeria apart from English. It will be compulsory for you to speak ,read with the language of your country. The CRK and IRK divides students from secondary school. I am married to a Yoruba woman. I speak Yoruba fluently and Hausa paseably. I am not Yoruba nor am I Hausa. I have friends all over. I don't discriminate. It all depends on the individual and his or her outlook on life. Nigeria won't move forward until we change the way we do business. |
Politics › Re: FG To Remove State Of Origin by bidemi12(m): 7:50pm On Jan 10, 2016 |
olas24u: Integration is a gradual process and this is a welcome development that can unite our country.Next step is language and marriage, every Nigerian should be able to speak 1 out of the 3 major languages and i should be able to marry any man from any part of Nigeria ,we can do this by breaking the cultural barriers. I don't understand. There are no laws saying you can't do any of the things you have said above. |

PRYCE: Perfect! Just perfect!
As much as I support this, Nigeria is too fragile for this!... Our various ethnic groups can't even stand each other... how do they hope to make it work?
Cos this means A Northerner can go become a governor in the east, an easterner in the west, A westerner in the north and so on!
Tribalism will so increase cos peoples will now have this zeal to look out for their tribesmen if they feel they are being Dominated "in their own land"! You are funny. You want tribalism to stop but you don't want to do anything to stop it. Normal countries only have state of residence not origin. I see this as a first step to stopping the tribalism issue. In fact i am surprised that buhari is taking the step. Can he really be the "special one?". No. I will wait and see. Let me not get too far ahead of myself. |
