No country without problems. what we are talking about is the percentage of problems compared to daily existence. katrina was/is the exception to the rule. i have lived here long enough to know how they think. They live a life filled with proceedures whereby if such an occurence were ever to happen again there will be a step by step guide on how to tackle it. Let me explain; i live in a city that is prone to tonadoes and hurricanes. we have a guide on how to evacuate in case of an emergency. These guidelines were possible because of the calamity that katrina represents. They make mistakes and learn from it. can you say the same for Nigeria? we repeat the same mistakes over and over again so much so that you think amnesia is an epidemic in the country.

what most fail to realize is that your idea of "GOOD" is complete rubbish to a foreign national. Good is when you can depend on the police to come within 5 minutes of calling them. Good is when there is electricity to power the electronic devices you spent your hard earned funds to purchase. Good is when you can depend on the healthcare system to cater for your family's needs. Good is when you can hope for a reasonable chance of employment when you graduate from college. Good is when you embark on a journey of 2hrs and get there in 2hrs. Not get there in 6hrs because of bad roads and police extortion points. Good is when you cast your vote and you are sure it counts. You see my fellow Nigerian, you can color the truth with words but the evidence is abound for all to see.

i am currently in the process of convincing some of my american friends to invest in Nigeria. The only problem is they are scared because of the cost they might incure to set up the investments. i try my best to tell them that most nigerians are retarded and the challenges they face with getting safety permits for standards in the US don't apply here. In a nutshell, you can pretty much get away with murder. They still don't believe. Maybe i should introduce them to Nairaland so that they can witness some of the remarks by so called educated posters who blame victims and not the organization. Yes!! that is what i will do. I wonder why i didn't think of that before?

Nigerians will never cease to amaze me. Can you imagine? a person loses his/her toes while embarking/disembarking from an escalator and some morons here are blaming the pedestrian. well i will not blame them too much. Nigerians/Nigeria offers nothing in terms of standards or safety so they know no better. for your information when an organization provides an equipment for public use it is obligated to ensure that the equipment is serviceable and safe. for those who don't know the escalator in question was never serviceable nor in good condition in the first place. i was not there but from my experience plying escalators i am sure, aside from triping and falling head over heels from the top, it is one of the most safe and fast means of moving up or down a building. Aside the onus of responsibility being on the organization, the authorities should have checked to make sure that all equipmen provided were safe for public use. Like i said Nigeria/Nigerians offer nothing in terms of safety or standard so they know no better.

How easy it is to deceive Nigerians.
