Who is the regulatory authority for banks?? Isn't it Sanusi's CBN? If the CBN is not functioning properly, isn't that what Sanusi should be seeking to fix rather than making policies that are inimical to entrepreneurship??

Also ask yourself why most American financial institutions are names of people. Wells Fargo, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Charles Schwab all initially belonged to individuals or groups of individuals.

I'm so disappointed for a man who stays at Savanah, GA to make such a statement. I have lived in Atlanta, and Augusta, GA, do you want a list of private or family companies in GA? All of them doing very well, contributing to the growth and economic well being of the state of GA? And you're here complaing about how dangerous allowing private companies to grow big could be in Nigeria?

All those "mega banks and companies" started from some one's dream, hardwork and personal, yes personal funds before they became big enough to attract the jealous attention and religious confusion of the Sanusi Lamidos of this World.

Banning personal companies and banks are not the answer, making the rules stronger, and applying it accross board is the way t o go, just like in GA where companies like Coca-cola, Suntrust bank, and Home Depot have personal and family based origins. Why not in Nigeria

Bidemi it is not necessarily better to carry your child on your back but it is not necessarily better to not carry them either. One is not better than the other. There are safe ways to carry your child on your back. I was never comfortable with the wrapper thing but I have carried my children on my back here in the US

So backing your kid is not safe nor practical enough, u just have to put the lil kid in a stroller in other to belong to the white mans category, like a putting cement ina wheelburrow.

This is what we get for allowing ourselves to be deceived by the west that "the worst civilian government is better than the best military government". Can you really compare Nigeria to Libya or Egypt or even the monarchies in the gulf region? We should evolve a system of government best suited to our needs and peculiar circumstances and not what the western world think is best for us. I have witnessed six military governments and four civilian governments in Nigeria and I dare say that we had always fared better with the military. Almost all the landmark federal and state projects were executed under the military.

Democracy, they say, is the government of the people, by the people and for the people. The major catalyst for good governance is the fear of being driven out by the people. This can not be said of Nigeria's civilian government (not democracy) because they know once they get there, they stay there forever, no matter how they perform. It is the military that even have a semblance of democracy because, at least, they are afraid of their other colleagues booting them out. High time we ended this charade.
