byrron: The answer to your WHY questions is because we have an irresponsible and corrupt government that is always willing to play balls at the detriment of it's citizens which is why a tout from any country from Asia an Europe has the direct number to your president and the IGP while you that is a long suffering Nigerian citizen can't even access your ward councilor.
Now you can see why they will always come to Nigeria and why Nigeria deserves the #1 spot on that list based on merit. No, dont blame the government alone, people like you and I are culpable to all these you mentioned because if you yourself get there, you will want to satisfy yourself first before others and human' individual wants is unending. |

byrron: Have you seen the so called expatriates at the airport when they come into Nigeria? They come with just a a briefcase with just a Tshirt and one pant chinos trouser inside it because they are here not to stay but to play around.
Their salaries are paid not in naira but in foreign currencies deposited right into their bank accounts back in their home country and then their allowance are also given to them cash at hand on foreign currencies to play around with in Nigeria and if shekau detonates any bomb in sambisa then the so called foreigner can easily work into a waiting aircraft without any baggage and leave because he has no damn investments nor properties to leave behind expect for his Nigerian booty call's that are endlessly at his beck and calls which is why when they come, they don't want to leave and when they leave they lost nothing.
Having Nigeria as #3 on that list is cheating because it ought to occupy the #1 spot. now listen you what you said, they come to play around and enjoy their lives here and there. mind you, their mission is not to improve Nigeria but to add more woes to the country's woes which is why they come with nothing and leave with nothing. ask yourself, why are they not paying our expatriates in their country in Naira? why paying them in dollars? why is these so called white expatriates earn in dollars here but not in naira? The reason is simple, they never want to contribute anything to grow the economy of the country and always wants more downfall of the economy so their economy can wax stronger. |

Sometimes use your data to do small research on Google. The first comment did not say rubbish. I think the person that did that statistic said serious rubbish. do you think google will give you good result on Nigeria? meanwhile, America is not as peaceful as Nigeria... check this ling out https://www.gunviolencearchive.org |

Excuzeme: MOST Lagosians are dirty, they dump refuse into the drainage system and gutters! How wont everywhere be flooded, if rain water cannot flow-away freely, into the Lagoon and Oceans?
But we have an agency that is supposed to be arresting all these dirty people that dump refuse into the drainage or dont we? What have they been doing? What are officials of Lagos State Public Health Service (WoleWole, as we call them) doing to arrest these offenders? Go to most street in lagos now, you will see no less than half of the Road has been converted to shops, People rent shops and then entend it by a factor of almost 200%, right into the middle of the road so much so that vehocles find it difficult to drive-by. This not only endager the passers-by but also the children in the neighbourhood as they are all also forced to walk in the middle of the road! What if vehicles driving by run into the Stalls erected in the middle of the road and kill someone, who do we blame?
These same Shops located right in themiddle of the road, just dump their Refuse into the gutters that is now concealed behind them, blocking the free flow of water. What is the Lagos State Enviromental Sanitation Agency doing? How come we pay the staff if these two organisations with tax payer's money yet we dont get any benefit from them because they dont do the work they are supposed to do? Why is everyone doing hush-hush and complaining about the flood?
It seems that Civil Servants are becoming a waste of tax-payer's money nowadays because they dont do their job anymore, either out of fear or out of having been compromised. In the days of Fashola as Governor of Lagos State, you dare not put your wares on the road or throw refuse into the gutters/drainage, there would be some Green Uniform (Environmental) or Brown and Whte Uniform (Health Official) to arrest you and as such, people's behaviour became positively conditioned but Ex. Gov. Ambode rubbished all those gains with his elitist, foreign import, waste management strategy that was dead on arrival due to poor planning though not forgetting that he tried to stop the corruption instituted by Tinubu and enforced on Fashola.
Its time for the Enviromental Sanitation Corps and the Wole'Wole Health Officials to focus on those who dump refuse into the gutter/drainage system and those who extend their shops over the gutter and into the road, arrest them, impose fines or send them to jail, if they remain obstinate. most of our flood problems will be solved, if we tackle this menace of refuse in street drainages and Shops over street gutters
Where is Gov. Sanwo-Olu in all these? Is he sleeping on duty or just waiting for instructions from the Oga in Bourdillon Agency you say? my brother, These agencies are busy doing nothing oo. |

qualityovenbake: The canals and drainage in Lagos State needs serious attention. The canals in Surulere are blocked, especially the canal that links Adisa Basua street, Census market, Chief Natufe street, Orile Igamu etc Well, all these flooded areas are places where the people there dried up the river, seas, water pathways etc [s][/s]in a bid for selling lands and scavenging lands. am not surprised water fights back. However, it is little Govt. can do for them but they need to take matters in their own hands too. by clearing all dirts and debris around them to ease water passage into the river nearby. |

Yemmy94: How can the prority of a department in the university is to reduce student.
What is there gain? Does this make them the best department?
Why will they allow lot of student to be admitted into the department and next thing they want to do is reduce them again.
This department is a big mess and something need to be done about this.
Even the 400 level student are already having an extra year while the ones that had an extra year before is having another one again This is painful and tragic
Please better advice the 100level student to change department because most of them can't survive it.
Lot of them are starting with 2 point and there are low chances dey will survive.
CSC IS A BIG MESS By the way, how did you get admission into the university? you grammar is killing too as well as your spelling! and you want to pass JAVA course? Am afraid of the kind of graduate you will end up becoming if you continue like this |

Godjone: A former APC Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank, has asked the National Peace Committee led by retired Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, to call President Muhammadu Buhari to order over what he called unnecessary arrests and intimidation of people loyal to the PDP presidential candidate.
Frank, who reacted, yesterday, in a statement to the invasion and arrest of Alhaji Babalele Abdullahi, son in-law and finance director of Atiku’s group of companies in Abuja on Saturday, said it was an act of terrorism and wickedness of the highest order for the president to steal the mandate Nigerians freely gave to Atiku Abubakar and still intimidate his men using state institutions.
He claimed that there were plans to also arrest the PDP presidential candidate himself this week.

Thanks for this clarification.
We need massive laws to curb and punish these ridiculous bloggers... they are distorting history and some people have started insulting Ekiti girls on this thread based on the FAKE STORY!
Nairaland Mods have to be careful about pushing these kinds of misleading stories to the front page. I found the dubious recycled post on the front page of NL. Fake stories are making it to the front page sometimes... which is a sign of poor quality control by the mods.
A simple search on Google Images would reveal if a picture has been used before online ====> https://images.google.com/
When Femi Fani-Kayode and some other bloggers and propagandists posted a fake picture of supposed Dapchi girls who came back after being freed by BH in Yobe with Ghana-must-go bags looking clean and wearing hijabs, I used this method to detect that the pictures of the GMG bags and so-called Dapchi was fake!
All the best. The society we found ourselve in my brother. There has been laws and regulations over fake stories but who is to execute the laws? who is to arrest who? who is to report who? Do you know why America thrive today? it is because they will always report any misconducts by anyone, the person to execute the law will do professionally and it will send signals to whomever is planning to do such not to try it. but here for naija, na bribes everywhere. |

The ladies took advantage of the flood instead of going to pay so much money at a swimming pool 'which was already at their disposal'.
