Family › Re: Complex Marital Issue : Your Thoughts On This Please. by BigDawsNet: 5:38pm On Sep 29, 2022
Meteoritey:
Due to work, my husband and I live in states, and my husband lives in Canada. 3 months ago we had some serious skirmishes during our phone conversation and in the heat of the argument, I told him that he does not appreciate the fact that I am raising the kids and doing everything alone.

To my disappointment, he told me that he is overworked more than me. This really angered me. This got me angry and I hung up. Although He tried to reach me for 4 days, and also sent me some messages, I cut him off without replying, about 9 weeks later, I sent him just a message on an unrelated issue, he ignored my message, after another month, I sent him another message, he also ignored. It has been 3 months now we have not spoken to each other.

Recently my brother had a baby, and he only called once to congratulate them. Moreover my younger sister got admission to a university to study the same course that my husband studied, so naturally, my sister contacted him. My sister said he advised her on what to do and what she should expect. This was about 2 months ago. I personally did not inform him about my sister’s admission myself.

After about one month, my sister also called him for more information, but he has not been picking my sister’s call.

My sisters fiancee also called him to inform him about their upcoming marriage (my same sister that got the admission) he only spoke with my sister and her fiancee once, he stopped further communication with them on both issues of admission and marriage, and that he only spoke with them the first time about the admission and the marriage out of the respect he has for them.

He gave my sister the excuse that it was not proper, for him to speak with her fiancee' because he said that I have not told him anything about the marriage, therefore he can not relate further with my sister as per the marriage. And that it was out of respect that he even called my sister initially to advice her.

What are you thoughts and opinion please.
With all the comments in the forum... you no ur own faults now... ur hubby should hav acted like the man of the house and call you normal.. to settle whatever you both get going on...

Now you hav to amend... call his Parents and explain to them... tell them it's you sorry and you want your husband back

Call his best friends and admit you made some error... they will definitely help you pled with ur husband...

If u think u can't do all dis... madam... ur hubby may leave u..

I pray God will settle your family and you will get back ur hubby

Amen!

Travel › Re: Travel Out Of Nigeria Or Use The Money To Do Business In Nigeria by BigDawsNet: 9:27am On Sep 29, 2022
Fajeed:
Nairalanders please I need your opinion on this which is more better
travel out or use the money to do business here in Nigeria which is better in your own opinion
The thing is the money with me is not too much and if I travel out I don’t have anyone there I will have to find my way
the country on my mind is United States I can still consider United Kingdom the money with me can still secure visa of 2 years student visa in United States it can get me 5 years working visa in Canada but I don’t like Canada
But you never can tell I can still go for the working visa of USA
What do you guys think which country will be more convenient to travel to
As I no get anyone there
Business and Travel are good investment... it's really your decision... no random man can make that for you here...

If going for buisness... talk with expert to give you some guidance before you invest

Travel? Forget USA... no interview date till late 2023_24..
UK is faster and cool...
Canada is nice.. get citizenship in 5 years if you follow rules

Romance › Re: MY EXPERIENCE With Women After I Travelled by BigDawsNet: 9:09am On Sep 29, 2022
SerendipityHIGH:
I travelled for a few weeks and have been in the East since then.

I intentionally stopped calling or chatting all my girls.

I wanted to rate their level of interest in whatever relationship/ situationships we have.

Note: I left them to initiate the chats or calls themselves.

MY FINDINGS

80% of relationships/ friendships with women will die once the guy stops calling.

Many called in the first week.

One called till 4th week and hasn't called for 16 days now. She used to visit me weekly before.

Only one still kept in touch till date.

She billed me too but I avoided it to access her reaction. She kept her cool.

I have planned to reward her upon my return.

ASIDE: This reminds me of a girl I met at BRT going to Ikeja. She works at Computer villa.

I took her number. We chatted once in a while and I have sent her data and airtime on few occasions.

I intentionally stopped contacting her and she never did. I deleted her number 2 months after.

I suspect this might be happening because I don't reveal my identity to them because I always want things to flow organically and also to avoid raising high expectations of me.
I think it's an issue we have with our Nigerian or African ladies...

They natural believe its the man's job to take the wheel of the relationship... and when you stop doing whatever a man does... then the relationship hit the rocks...

I hav noticed everything you said here... tho I dint do mine on purpose... I was so busy with work...and I couldn't do the calling... after a week I realised the lady stop calling too... like automatic end of relationship...

All this things are just mentality... nothing more... they believe its men job to initiate calls and everythung that concerns the relationship at all times... truly not all African ladies are like this... but majority are...

So if you know, you value your relationship... just make sure you carry out your assignment well as a man or be ready to start looking for another babe

Kasssandra:
No, it grows because we have a high birth rate, not because immigration.

If we want population reduction we should aim for a birth rate of 1 per woman, not the 3-8 per woman that we have nationwide

Also, resource dependent nation's that are rich have small population less than 40 million people. Even if we closed our borders we would still have a population that cannot be sustained by just oil.

If we want to be like the UAE, we have to produce 3 million bpd and have a population of 15 million people,. If we want to be like Saudi, 10 million bpd and 40 million people.

Nigerian leaders have failed to make us an industrial nation. Which we could have been if we did not subsidies fuel and power and followed our National development plans to the letter.
It all result to the fault of the Government
Nigeria is just a total failed state...

I just a wish someone new can just turn things around
Crime › Re: Customs Intercepts 81,425 Litres Of Petrol In Sacks Heading To Benin Republic by BigDawsNet: 7:56pm On Sep 28, 2022
Kasssandra:
We are not like all those countries because our population is larger than what our earnings from oil can sustain.

That is why we need side Hustle as a country by diversification
Our population grew higher because our leaders that are supposed to invest funds in the right places keeps stealing them...

Around 1980, Nigeria population was 73.42 million... if they pump the right funds into Immigration and border control... we could have stop illegal migration into our country... I'm not saying the foreigner makes up the 130m added today... but our border was too open... we we're giant of Africa... everyone wants to migrate to nigeria... and it was easy for them to do till today!

Yes! We blamed them but is that really the solution...
If Nigerians stand up today to fight his government... i dont see the British stopping us from from doing that.. codedly I'm pretty sure they will be happy we have finally woke up.... but since average Nigerians or let me say some tribes ain't ready to fight.. so let just vote the right candidate...

What belongs to population of about 200m is been stolen daily...

Imagine if our leaders are normal human being! by now... we will be competing with countries like Canada, Yankees, United Kingdom, UAE/Qatar and many more....

But we really don't have the courage to fight for our right! So we just allow them to keep stealing our wealth...

Next year pls vote for the right candidate guys..

HumbleOptimist:
Good Day Dear Nairaland Family,

My Sister started behaving weirdly last few Weeks. She laughs alone, talks alone and is sometimes restless especially at Night.

Though she always responds well and correctly when engaged. I've asked her and she told me she doesn't know when that happens and it's unintentional.

I, on my part have tried talking to my Dad to take her to a Mental Health Expert, my Dad seems to believe it is spiritual attack instead.
Please, I need Medical practitioners in the house to help tell me what she's probably suffering from so I can Confidently convince my Dad.

Can you please help move this to front page?
She's minor, introvert... maybe she's dealing with Hearing voices or seeing things that are not there and they can be a part of normal development, but they may also happen as a result of The illness most often associated with psychosis also knows as schizophrenia....

I will recommend you speak with a doctor about her issue before it get to uncontrollable level...

In the meantime time... try to take her out often... she needs to start mingling with humans like herself... it's not the permanent solution but it's a step!

Romance › Re: My Fiancée Wants Us To Relocate To Canada by BigDawsNet: 9:43am On Sep 27, 2022
Truthsoldier:
Good day nairalanders

There is the sweet young lady, godly, smart and intelligent lady I plan settling down soon,we are so much into each other, we have discussed so many things concerning our future but the issue here is that she told me she would not want us to have our kids in Nigeria.
I told her that there are actually some good places in Nigeria, in fact she told me she would want us to have a permanent residency over there in Canada,I told her about my work, she said that there is no problem if I would want to be coming visiting them to which I disagreed, she told me that she would want us to go there and continue more on her education and I settle and get a job there.
I tried to let her know that she may choose to have our kids born there and we still return to Nigeria, but she's having none of that, she loves me so much, but this aspect is what I want to figure out.

Should I grant her that desire of totally relocating, or let us have our home there while I work here in Port Harcourt, I would not like to stay away from my family and kids.

What should I do now?
Marriage this days needs unity
Living away from you family is never a good idea

You love your job in Nigeria and she wants to migrate... you both needs to come to terms on what you want for each other... don't quit your dream job just to Satisfy your wife...

I have people with extreme high paying jobs in Nigeria that moves over here... truly they are okay.. but dere lives, income and freedom back home can't not be compared with dere current position here...

Sometimes they want to regret moving but they just wave it off and focus at the present...

So think about it very well

If you know you can maintain ur marriage faraway from dem... den let them go to Canada

Additional
My uncle was in ur shoe some years back...
Wife and kids in Yankee
Uncle in Nigeria working...
Uncle his sending bills/rents funds from nigeria to Yankee because wife can't work full time with kids
Uncle normally converted naira to dollars and send dem
Bills was very uncomfortable for Uncle...

Na long story sha... can't discuss further...

So think about it
