Aks: Yea, i feel u. I just want some guys to piss for Body and come out of their hiding place by DELIBERATELY highlighting such big figure .
Even when there is fear and drop in the market, I prefer guys on this thread to pass their comment without inciting emotional fears in others cos i know a lot of us have sold shares @ a loss and seeing the reversal trend of MR NSE in a bullish way may mar the happiness that comes with this festive season. For example, i bought Transcorp @ 4.14 and FBN @ 9.14 but i choose never to be moved by any comment (after i hurriedly sold UBA @ a mega loss owing to some advice on this page just for it to rebound the next day after the sale) and it's paying off are you a trader or investor? if you are a trader, then perhaps you can rightly fret about all these prophecasting going on here! If you on the other hand you are an investor, then you'd find most of these as 'irrational exuberance'. in this season I started buying FBNH at 11.82 until 7.79; UBA from 5.08 until 4.21; (plus a host of others) I would have panicked when these valuations got as ridiculous if there was any real news of a run on these banks |

Elai147: So why are they not announcing a share buy-back if they feel the stock is undervalued? Could it be that the coy itself is scared of the NSE? Perhaps, there are better things to do with funds than buying back their own shares. Like I insinuated earlier, it appears these guys do not believe in their own story! |

Elai147: We hardly hear anythng like share-buyback in Naija because even the listed coys don´t trust the NSE otherwise why won´t they buy back their shares if they believe the shares are greatly undervalued? Exactly my point! They don't even believe in the businesses they are running. Otherwise, it is not rocket science or neurosurgery ... they would have bought back a lot of their shares at this depressed? valuations. Also an indirect way of rewarding shareholders via an increase in EPS deceiving shareholders since 1914 |

omaojo1: It is a result of the rights sir.
This is the message from the exchange.
September 15, 2014 The Nigerian Stock Exchange Approves Technical Suspension of the Shares of Access Bank Plc
The Nigerian Stock Exchange has granted anticipatory approval for the shares of Access Bank Plc (“the Bank”) to be placed on Technical Suspension. The approval follows the application made by the Bank to The Nigerian Stock Exchange.
The Bank will hold an Extraordinary General Meeting on Monday, October 13, 2014 to seek its shareholders’ authorization for the Board of Directors to raise additional equity capital in the sum of up to NGN 68 billion by way of a Rights Issue.
The Board believes that the Technical Suspension is in the overall interest of the Bank’s shareholders and will preserve shareholders’ value, on account of the proposed corporate action. The Technical Suspension will be lifted on January 27, 2015 and the normal trading activities will resume on January 28, 2015.
Is this market not a joke? I thought the era of TS during funds raising was a thing of the past? There is more to The TS than fund raising. 2007/2008 era is back again? Offer this & offer that, not for me and my household. Not anymore! Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice ... |

omaojo1: Madam, first of all, if there was an immediate kill to be made, IEI shares would have flown north with all guns blazing.
An SPV is the owner of Heritage bank and they own 80%, Saraki 9% and others 11%. The investment of IEI Plc in the vehicle is 1.7bn naira. The Net Assets of the bank as at the time of this acquisition was 10bn naira with Total assets standing at about 31bn naira. So IEI Plc owns 17% of the bank or 21.25% of the SPV's investment in the bank.
The unknown element here is who the promoters of this SPV is. How they are going to raise the 56bn naira consideration for this transaction is a question that is still begging for answer. Who else sees this? IEI ==> HIBL ==> SKYEBANK |

IEI has not published their 2013 result, lets hope there would be a massive turn around in their earning so dt prophet utuocha's prophesy will come to pass.
Please, lets get their investor relations to answer these questions. For those that believed, about 3 months ago I adviced folks that wanted an indirect play on HIBL to go for IEI. (The post must have been lost to the cyber attack earlier) My schoolboy research then (based on available info) suggested that IEI owned over 80% of HIBL. I believe that is still the case. |
