Sir, eterna is a good stock if only you can be patient. The only worrisome about the stock is the liquidity and volatility of its outstanding shares meant for trading. Please don't be a panic seller for now because u will surely smile at last. Just be patient...!
Typical!

Dividend Projected is N36,002,000,000 which is equivalent to N1.10 per share (Not official) and not a recommendation to buy or sell. Just my own opinion.

Solid FBNH result. Impressed!
The group result in general is good!

However, the company only made 0.17k profit in 2014 as opposed to N2.16k for the comparative period last year. I am assuming the company is the Nigerian bank?. Something about the group vs company result I am not comfortable with!

Exactly. A stock that was on full bid yesterday and no single drop on offer is now fully available and over N200m has been transferred in less than 3 hours. I have loaded more anyways. This is a big fish and i got my harpoon ready.
I do not want to be a scare mongerer, there was an article posted on SMN yesterday about the termination of their agreement with Sacoil regarding OPL 281. If I remember correctly, there is a liability associated with it. Please see

http://www.sacoilholdings.com/investor-centre/rns-aim/withdrawal-of-cautionary-announcement/?id=20&entryId=392

Excerpt:
"SacOil paid $12.5 million towards farm-in fees on 28 February 2011, which contractually will be refunded with interest byTranscorp. In addition, SacOil will not have any future commitments and obligations associated with the appraisal of OPL 281. As reported in our recent financial statements, the farm-in fee to Transcorp and the transaction fee payable to Energy Equity Resources Norway Limited of US$12 million and US$2.5 million respectively will not be due and payable."

Please listen to that podcast then come back and tell us what you make of it.

Please note that they may also change their mind 'cos of the postponement by CBN of the implementation of BaselX (where X is II or III, I am not sure) capital adequacy requirements.

I dont expect FBNH to give bonus, however, dividend will be between N0.80k-N1.
Like I've advised severally on this forum, listen to their Q3 conference call to better shape your dividend expectation. They hinted that they might capitalize their Q1-Q3 profit. I for sure do not expect up to 80k. I am heavy here and am watching it like a hawk!

Madam, i dont want firstbank to release result now make money come first. Please note that i am no demon. Every delay is a blessing in disguise. wink
Not always my bros, recent instances abound. FBNH seems to have a resistance at about 9.59ish, only a release of impressive results will break this resistance. GTB is already 30+, Zenith 24.8 ... meanwhile Transcorp is already on net offer of 23m+

Timing is Key in NSE levels. Please don't be caught unawares, know when to Exit cos after BULL comes BEAR.
Power is likely to change hand from the BUY side to the SELL side in a jiffy
then from SELL to BUY, it is quite normal and healthy. the koko is 'higher lows and higher highs'

Greetings guys, it's been an awesome moment sharing with your joy about the outcome of the election and a bullish moment in the NSE. Our expectations will never be cut short this year IJN. WE ARE MAKING MONEY THIS YEAR!!! I personally appreciate all the people who directly or indirectly gave us newbies a pointer on the stocks to choose: I wish to inform you guys that for the first time turning into the Second market in NSE, I was able to load my portfolio with the following: COSTAIN , DANGSUGAR, ETERNA, FBNH, TRANSCORP, OANDO, UBA, FCMB, CUSTODIAN, WAPIC, CILEASING, AFRIPRUD (this no recommendation for newbies lol)

My question, as we await the dividend from FBNH and TRANSCORP, I haven't filled the e-dividend form, how do I get mine please. Just a humble question from a newbie learning.
Costain?

From page 1 of the report "The group's results for the year are set out on page 7. The profit for the year of N1.29 billion (2013: N703.2 million) has been transferred to accumulated Profit. No dividend has been recommended for the year."
have quickly gone through the report.

Hello brother's and sister's you can now understand chibuking81 post, you can now thank him . how can uba and unilever pay #0.10 in all the profits?.
Dividend payment has no relationship with his posts (for the newbies who are hard of hearing IMO). He posited that the market in general would be in such free-fall this week with such speed that we may need to recompute the acceleration due to gravity smiley

You are absolutely right. I should have written "...PERCEIVED disappointing results..." instead. Like I already indicated, discerning UBA investors and even prospective investors in the bank should know when their bread is being buttered. I await at the right junction with my machete. The prospect is too juicy to be missed. wink wink wink

It's shocking how people can be so one-track minded with regard to this UBA result. How could anyone expecting to make money thru UBA only focus on the possible dividend exclusively. The type of price appreciation opportunities which UBA has granted smart investors since late last quarter at its prevailing price (plus and minus fluctuations) have been such that any smart investor would have made tons of money before the disappointment of today's results. I don't know for others but I'd rather take the poor dividends of today and then wait for the expected punishment on the bank's share price to load up more on UBA. There's is no doubt that in no long time the kind of massive appreciation that will follow the patient investor in UBA given the strength of its retained earnings will make up for the sorrows of today. Sometimes it pays handsome to stoop to conquer with certain stocks. But then, what do I know? A lot of guys here are way smarter than many of us. cheesy grin cheesy grin
we all agree that the corporate action is disappointing. However, i beg to differ that the whole result is disappointing. they made an improvement on last year albeit ~2.6% bottom line improvement

This is not the first time for their ridiculous dividend...........I think we need more regulation in the stockmarket.........I hope the price can hit 8naira anyhow in 8months so that I can exit this stock............
regulators would never ask the regulated to pay more dividend. instead, they'll stop them from paying dividends ala last CBN policy of dividend payment (which i believe is being played out here)

What i mean by the loots is for those that enter UBA @ 2.99, FCMB @ 2, Transcorp @ 2.22, UBCAp @ 1.19. Hope you understand sir?
even if i enetered UBA @ 2.99 and they paid 10k dividend (~3% yield), does this qualify it as a loot?

Oando from #28 to #13+, Transcorp from #6 to #3+, Conoil from #60 to 32, Nestle from #1100+ to #800+, infact all the stock loss half of their price, some below, while some little above half. Do you want the stocks to go down to 50kobo before you will believe.
Chibueze 1981, we are all humans.

Just accept you got it wrong and move one! People might then cut you some slack!

I dont understand what the FCMB board of directors are up to with this 25k dividend. Last year, they declared 30k per share. Why the drop in dividend declared despite 38% increase in Profit YoY? Are they envisaging a worst year in 2015 so as to use the retained earnings to boost their operation than coming out for right issues.
CBN policy + Basel II/III capital requirement thinzzzz
