pumping777: If you look closely you will find that Livestock has been reporting exceptional items as profit so I don't see a +ve turn around yet.
They also proceeded to dilute the ownership by doing a PP after the rights issue!!! Forward PE is around 230!
--------- A total of 630,519,000 shares were added to the shares outstanding in the name of Livestock Feeds Plc on Thursday, November 22, 2007 following the Placing with three Investors. --------
Sure you can keep this stock short term but anything more than that is more than risky. wasnt it in the report for YE 31/03/03 that they reported exceptional items from the sale of some their assets? |

loma: By Ikechukwu Emelike Livestock feeds plc has released its full year result to the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange. The company whose share price opened January this year at N3.63 and got to N9.96 at the end of trading on March 5, 2008, fell by 72 kobo yesterday to close at N9.24 at the end of trading on the floor. This is obviously as a result of the poor result just released to the public. It traded a total volume of 24,571,540 in 548 deals.
According to the results turnover for the period increased slightly by 4 percent from N560 million recorded in 2006 to N581.7 million in 2007. Profit before tax declined significantly by 900 percent from N728 million in 2006 to N8.840 million in 2007. After tax profit was no good as it also decreased by 998 percent from N748 million recorded in 2006 to N8.324 million in 2007. This is no fresh news, it has been in the public domain for a while, check out wanaj0 spreadsheet. This result is for YE 31/03/07. Livestock feeds is making a turnaround, Q2 PAT is about N23m. Whilst this is not fanatastic, I think it is +ve signs, they might make N50m for YE 31/03/08. Compared with 8.23 for YE '07, this shows a significant turnaround. My opinion though, usual caveats Disclosure - Livestocks feeds is sitting pretty in the risky portion of my portfolio |

Godness me
I've caught up eventually. Went 2 Nigeria last week came back on monday, the more i tried to catch up the more the thread kept growing. my missus have even banned me from the laptop at home so I was resticted to catching up only at work.
Anyway, I got tired of boutique brokerage houses, opened an account with a not so 'boutique' broker (hussler broker if you like), dropped a couple of duty free after shaves & EDT and man it is working wonders. I am just about to test him with OandO.
Wendy - you 2 much. You know why I am saying this.
Any one know how I can lay my hands on Pricelist going back to 1987. I managed to fish out a few certs bought by my old boy for me at about this time. I need to add them to my s/sheet |

orisebawo: You don't have to pay tax twiceif you can proof you had already paid interest on the initial investment, although you might pay tax on the profit if you are domiciled in the UK (confirm from a tax expert).
The receipt from the counter is not a proof of the source of funds. it will either be your payslip, rent income slip, receipts from invoices you, dividends slip, loans etc bros what r u on about, if ojo stop u an d u produce the receipt, they can always run a check on your incoming funds from the a/c and verify if any is questionable. I do it all the time. In 2006 I gave a friend 10k to take home 4 me, he was stopped at LHR and the guy produced the till receipt, the customs guys just query am small pass am. |
Investment › Re: Stock Market Tips For Nigerians by bigjay01(m): 5:36pm On Jan 30, 2008 |
kpineo: bros are you telling me if i owe you £10K, i can't pay it into your account in the UK. It's not like you are going to be moving £100K weekly. As a matter of fact your bank will kill you with letters in the post, pre-approved things. I see you want to add to western unions profit margin. As for me and my house no tax and no transfer fees. Remember profit was not made in UK, so y should i pay tax to the UK government again.---"double taxation" not that i am aware of. If you earned the money legitly, u can withdraw and do whatever u want with it. I do anyway, at least not the small amount i deal with anyway. when u withdraw money across the counter they'll always issue u with a till receipt. I thinks its enough proof of the source |
