Elai147: You can send the forms directly to the Registrars. It is not mandatory that your stockbrokers must sign the e-dividend forms. Just make sure you have your bank's stamp and signature on the forms before you send them to the Registrars (ensure you use a registered post).
If you purchased the shares via secondary market, you must ask your stockbrokers to process a share transfer form for each stock purchased. You will have to sign a portion of the form and send it back to your broker for processing. Ask your broker to email you the form and tell you exactly where to sign. Since you must process a share transfer form (via your broker) for each of these stocks, I would advise you to also process your e-dividend forms via your broker to make it easier for you. This means you will have to send both the e-dividend and share transfer forms to your broker. Alternatively, and to be on a safer side, send all e-dividend and share transfer forms to your broker to process for you, and also send another set of e-dividend forms directly to each of the Registrars. This way, the e-dividend forms will most likely get to the Registrars. In Naija, it is possible for you to send a post by registered mail and it will not get to its destination and will not be returned to you as undelivered (it has happened to me severally). This could explain why the registrars are yet to receive the e-dividend forms sent by your broker and it is also the reason I am advising you send forms to both the Registrars and your broker.
I am not sure of any bank that has commenced this. Don't waste your time waiting for a bank that may never adopt this e-DMMS system. Don't forget this is Naija. Banks hardly take CBN's warning serious on important issues let alone one e-DMMS portal thing. when I did mine a few years ago (2010/11 ish) there was no such requirement. Bank stamp then straight to the Registrars. I don't rely on my stockbrokers for such. Even if they are required to endorse the mandate, I'll make sure I take it to the Regs myself. I reside outside Nigeria, hence it will be a very expensive story to entertain from the brokers. |

Elai147: I had this same problem some time ago. What I did was to resend a new set of e-dividend forms to my broker as all the registrars confirmed they did not receive the e-dividend forms sent by my broker. If you're based in naija just fill a new set of e-dividend forms and take them to your bank for endorsement. If your bank has commenced the implementation of e-DMMS, you can register through the bank, otherwise send a new set of forms to your brokers or directly to the registrars. |

I think its very good that you are educating all of us, but only you sabi the knowhow. So what will be good is some kind of summary of ways to reduce building cost, be it reuse of materials, negotiating tactics, actions, decision making etc.
I appreciate that some things may not apply to some of us due to location etc, but most of your techniques should be universally applicable.
Forever humble.

spyder880: The list of plot numbers still free for purchase
1. Plot 1 (Owner could not complete the payment, had to withdraw) 2. Plot 2 3. Plot 7 4. Plot 11 (Reserved but not paid for) 5. Plot 13 (Reserved but not paid for) 6. Plot 14 (Reserved but not paid for) 7. Plot 15 (Reserved but not paid for)
I do not wish for us to sell the land now, but to wait for appreciation, meanwhile I plan to be in this community by tomorrow morning to complete my negotiation on the road access. We just need to point out the 30 foot road, and then persuade the farmers whose crops are still there to remove them. They want me to pay some compensation, but I will have to own the removed cassava etc if that must be. But I want the crops removed immediately and I gain access to deliver materials before I start paying for any "nri ani" money. Am not trying to gazump anyone. Anyway, like i mentioned earlier - standby thinz |

PETERiCHY: He got to buy in batches of course and he should start "THINKING" of making get his 1st purchase when the index hits below 26000. From my limited knowledge of mathematics, I thought it would still be cheaper to wait and buy all in 1 go at index level of 20000 than buying in tranches at index level above 20000? Sorry, carried over maths 101 (several times) during my Engineering days at uni! |

PETERiCHY: keep calm and be watching the All-SHARE INDEX when it drops below the 26000 basis point then you can think of making your first purchase, as for now there is heavy FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN. Am sorry thought you had earlier said it would drop to 20000? Why not advice him/her to wait till end Nov when it would've dropped to 20000? |

Buhari gives Sept. 15 deadline for TSA compliance | BusinessDay
I have spoken with a few parastatal heads and indeed winter is coming. The free money available in the banking sector was partly due to the slush funds from civil servants which they never remit to the centre.
Expect bank revenues to crash, real estate and rents to crash and general business activity to decline in the short term.
However in the long term with increased central revenue and Mr. Fowler chasing tax cheats we expect a massive infrastructure boom as we saw under Buhari in the days of PTF.
This is not a good time to be in the stock market. Cash is KING.
BTW - it is looking likely that there maybe a September 18 US Fed Rate hike; how are we pricing that into our investment decisions? bring it on! |

Krisuba: Need an answer oo.my itrade account shares the CLearing House Number with my former account with another broker. But t broker account has edivident mandate. Now buying same stock on i trade do i still need to see t registrar for edivident again? Of course yes! Let's say you bought 100 shares of A with broker X and 50 shares of A with broker Y. As far as you are concerned you hold 150 A shares. At the registrar, 2 accounts will be maintained for you hence the need for another eDiv mandate unless you have had the 2 accounts consolidated into one. Hope you get my drift! |
