@Naijadr

I have just sent out by courier my application form for joining UBA NRN. You must be pretty impressed with them. Who is your account manager or will it be different for me 'cos I'm in the UK? How long did it take them to open your A/C. I am planning on doing the PHB PO through them.

CrazyT,

thanks for the reply. Must have missed Roughcut's reply. I take it that the news is that it was oversubscribed and keep my fingers crossed that i will get a piece of the action in due time.

I would so hate to miss out on this one. Hope this is the beginning of a new dawn. Am all fired up after reading all your advice
If you go back about 1 page you'll see the answer to this question. According to Roughtcut it appears that the IPO was hyper (if this is the word) over subscribed

hello Nlanders

given the current state of play what would you consider a fair entry point on these stocks Diamond Bank, Access Bank,NB (assuming these stocks continue to head sothwards). I plan going for the Jugular (in my own way anyway). I dont mind shortterm but would generally be happy to wait 6-9 months.

Pumping,wanaj0,easimoni,roughcut,fatherof2 , over to you.

Temmie

whereabout in UK are you. seems like you know a bit about this stock market, can we msn with the hope of picking up some tutorials from you. I am a virgin in this biz

Having said that though, I tend to lean towards Fatherof2's school of thought. I, like a lot of people are beginners, I need to know how the technicals translate to decisions.
If company X's PE is ~13, what does it mean for me? For people like like Roughcut, pumping, wanaj0,easimoni and the rest of the Gurus when you arrive at this kind of figures for company X it would help a lot of us if u tell us if you are buying or selling.

I do understand that yoy are not obliged to do so, but for brotherly love do it.

At then end of the day whether Jonah swallow fish or fish swallow Jonah, there was a swallow. Whether technicals or hit and run, all we want to do is make money.

Lets slow down guys, I think both sides of the divide are equally important. The way I see it, for some stocks you need technicals and for some you need a quick hit and run provided you don't get hit before yoy'have had the chance to hit.

Hi Nairalanders

Any one has any experince with UBA stockbrokers? I am currently resident outside Naija and am about signing with them using their Non-Resident-Nigerian accounts.

Alternatively does anyone know of any better Stockbrokers better suited for people like me.

All you guys currently outside Naija please help a brother out. My current stockbroker is dealing with me seriously and I am about to tell him where to go.

Waiting ohhhh
BusinessRe: Nairalanders, How Much Are You Worth? by bigjay01(m): 10:41pm On Nov 24, 2007
Guys,

I cannot quantify in monetary terms how much I am worth.  At 36 I have BEng and an MSc,  I have a lovely wife and 2 kids (a boy and a girl).

I have a 4 bedroom property in a very good area ,  I have a good job, I wake up every day knowing  that I can put food on the table and take care of my responsibilities as a man.

How much am I worth in real / quality terms? PRICELESS!!!

fellow Naiaralanders

pumping, easimoni, fatherof2, wanaj0 ,

I am a stock market virgin. I have a quick question, can anyone tell me the historical behaviour of stock market this time of the year. Does it generally tend get depressed. Is it wise to buy from the secondary market this time of the year, or is it better t wait till a certain time after xmas?. My stock broker friend is advicing against generally waiting till January.

Whats the deal with Dunlop / Access / Afribank (PO), these are stocks am about to invest heavily based on my brokers advice. Any misgivings?

Suggestions highly appreciated

regards

Bigjay01
