Sports › Re: Nigeria FF Boss Questions Caf's Awards Criteria After Moses Snub by bigtt76(f): 6:44am On Dec 20, 2017 |
Exactly. The players for the awards are selected based on several criteria and not just because club he's playing for won the league or his country qualified for World Cup and he played. Other criteria includes but not limited to, number of goals scored during the football year under review, number of assists, number of hours played amongst others. We should stop these sentiments joooor. Kanu Nwankwo winning it then was exceptional.... He was on the verge of career death and was in the news all year round and just after his performance for court try and club. Moses has been injured greater part of the year, been on the bench too, played sparingly for country, scored fewer goals.... These stats can win you an award! Besides these, all those crying foul, did they vote for him? Mahrez won under Leicester City because he had a hand in almost every goal scored by Leicester City on the way to victory. Whobedatte: Sentiments everywhere. Look at his comparison ? He won the league with Chelsea was he better than these three? |

Politics › Re: Benue Swore In A New Chief Judge by bigtt76(f): 7:54am On Dec 19, 2017 |
kolawolepet: Source:- http://www.exclusivepp.com.ng/benue-swore-in-a-new-chief-judge/
Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Monday swore in a new Chief Judge of the State, Justice Adam Onum, urging him to ensure speedy dispensation of Justice.
Ortom, while swearing in the judge at the Government House, Makurdi, said Justice Onum’s appointment was based on merit, competence, professionalism and display of fairness while delivering judgments.
“You must work hard not to just follow in the footsteps of your predecessors, but surpass them by deepening justice administration in the state.
“It is our desire that he will also open a new vista in the quick dispensation of justice to all manner of people through the deployment of ICT and other best practices,” the governor advised.
He said that in spite of the financial challenges confronting the state, his government had made efforts to enhance and facilitate the quick dispensation of justice through the harmonisation of salaries and emoluments of legal officers in the Ministry of Justice.
In his response, Justice Onum observed that in spite of his judgments against the government, he was appointed the chief judge of the state and promised to discharge his duties within the ambit of the law without fear or favour.

Politics › Re: $1 Billion: 'Excess Crude account is Illegal' - House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila by bigtt76(f): 2:34pm On Dec 18, 2017 |
Just look at this one ....is he saying that its better for the governors to go and ask permission from the State House of Assembly before appropriation of the ECA? He thinks the State House of Assembly will reject the request? SMH ....we have problems in this country shaaaaa. stephanie11: House Leader, Femi Gbajabiamila has reacted to the recent $1 billion withdrawal from the Excess Crude Account(ECA). The House of representatives member wrote on social media;
"It is important that the legality of the withdrawal of $1b from the Excess Crude Account is properly understood.
1. The ECA I have always maintained is an illegal account and I instituted a court action against it during then Jonathan administration.
2. Unfortunately, until a final decision has been made by the courts the account is still operative.
3. There is a clear misunderstanding of the powers of the National Assembly over public funds and its limitations.
4. The National Assembly only has power of appropriation over monies belonging to the federal government.
5. The ECA does not belong to the federal government but to the 3 tiers of government.
6. The National Assembly cannot query how the states decide to spend their money. The only institution that can query this is the state assembly.
7. Where the Governors have decided to “donate” some of their funds from the ECA to fight Boko Haram, their state assemblies can kick against it that such was not appropriated by them. I do agree that due process wasn’t followed by The Governors as they should have sought approval of their states before the donation.
It is however not for the NASS to complain on behalf of the State Assemblies. This is part of the principle of separation of powers in a constitutional democracy. The National Assembly can only discuss the portion of the federal government money spent if any.
On whether Gov Fayose or any other Gov has a right to kick I believe he does. No matter how inappropriate if he does not accede to the request or deduction from his state's portion there is no amount of consensus that can bind him as postulated by the Chairman of the Governors forum because such portion belongs to his state and not to the Governors forum. So he may be entitled to a refund.
This is my position on this legality of the withdrawal of $1b from the ECA.

Nonsense really.... Soon they will start questioning the source of fur used for the wig whether the animal was gotten from is halal or not I wonder why we the Youths are pursuing irrelevant causes instead of causes that affects our entire lives. Look at 70 something year Olds fighting to be presidents while we the Youths are relegated to the background.... This one is fighting for hijab.... Hijab does not make you any more Muslim than a regular Muslim. It's just a sect thing. I doubt if that rule would be changed cause it defeats the secularism of the profession. |
