Use any of your Nigerian bank issued cards - Master Card Naira or VISA meaning you can pay the equivalent in Naira. Note that Amazon do not deliver electronics to Africa except you use a freight forwarding service

Its all about priorities my dear. If I may ask ...what are your ideas of relaxing/flexing. Partying, Clubbing, Womanizing, drinking, going to the cinemas, sports etc?

You can weigh in what you think would impact your life as well give you an avenue to relax. Say for instance partying, though may be seen as over-indulgence but then serves as an avenue to network (if you find yourself in the right party crowd). You may also look into joining a gym or sports club where activities there would not only relax you but also help health-wise.

I could go on and on but the bottom line is since you're scared of spending unnecessarily, look for an avenue where you spend once to kill two birds (as I've highlighted above).

Henrypraise: Yea its dat serious, pple say its stingyness but de won't understand, I have a diary were I write every damn kobo I spend n shud I notice 1000 naira has bin spent on "rubbish", I take dat 1000 naira from sumwere else dat isn't gonna kill me but sure wud purnish me e.g transport/ feeding.

Nice talk but @bolded brings me to d problem @ hand how do relax to not deprive mysef des youthful indulgencehuh Knwin fully well m currently @ my prime below 30.

Relax you're on the right path. Furnishing apartments or getting a car projects that come and go ...in other words, they're more of liabilities than assets.

Each year new household stuffs like TVs come out making acquired ones outdated. Same with cars too, but your projects( hope it is a viable one sha) should stand the test of time and cater for your future which is very important.

Don't lose focus but at the sametime ...don't starve or deprive yourself youthful indulgence.

Choi see lectures o!

sandee575: "Strictly speaking, it is actually incorrect to use "a.m." and "p.m." when referring to noon or midnight (12:00). The abbreviation a.m. stands for ante meridiem or before noon and p.m. stands for post meridiem or after noon. Since noon is neither after noon nor before noon, and midnight can equally be twelve hours before and after noon, neither abbreviation is correct (although the length of the error is determined by the smallest unit of time — 12:00:01 p.m. would be correctly notated, however it can't be read as "12 hours and 1"

Learn to take corrections. That's quoted from Wikipedia.

Business › Re: Mastercard Card Or Visa Card: Which Nigerian Banks Offer The Cheapest And Best by bigtt76(f): 4:28pm On Aug 24, 2014
Yes you have to open an account with Zenith Bank and request the Master card Naira. They have prepaid cards though but don't know if they do have Master Card Naira Prepaid. Prepaid do not require having an account with them. I transact on my Savings account. Might be the reason for the high charges on Withdrawals outside Nigeria. My GT card is on Current Account. All the best.

4bobo: Thanks, that means i have to open an account with the zenith bank and request for the atm card, Right? i just want an alternate to my visa dollar card that will expire this month end, i cant afford to lose another 50$ while i can get it cheaper elsewhere. Gtb master card also is not my interest before. They have tried to force it on me, but i always tell them i dont do atm stuff except intenet banking. so now, i need to go back to atm i guess.
By the way , on which account do you do transaction, current or savings?
Business › Re: Mastercard Card Or Visa Card: Which Nigerian Banks Offer The Cheapest And Best by bigtt76(f): 3:11pm On Aug 24, 2014
Well ...most people don't use Master Card dollar anymore cos it requires that you buy dollars to fund your account. Your bank will not sell you the required dollars and getting it from the mallams can be hectic so we all use Master Card Naira.

With Master Card naira, the equivalent Dollar to Naira value is deducted from your account according to the day's rate. Sometimes it might be higher and at other times favorable. I always check on oanda.com the current day's value before making purchase and most times its just correct.

As for the banks, I use Zenith Bank Master Card Naira for purchases online and so far so good no issues. No commission charged (maybe I don't notice it though but they are good).

Now when it comes to withdrawals outside Nigeria ...AVOID Zenith Bank's Master Card Naira ....they charge you like N600 for every withdrawal made ...used to be N480 undecided This area is where I use GTBank Master Card Naira ....they charge N240.

Why I don't use GTBank Master Card Naira for online transactions? They seem to have the poorest security and highest number of card fraud cases (people losing money from their accounts after online transactions ....don't know how it happens but I try to avoid that). I've never had such issues with Zenith Bank though.

Card Services on Zenith bank very good also and I think same with GTBank too.

So by and large I would advise you chose between the two which ever works best for you. Other banks may be good too ...FCMB, Diamond Bank, First Bank etc ...but I've not tried them.

4bobo: I know many people do online transactions with their master card and visa cards. which nigerian banks offer the best packages in terms of commission, charges, maintenance and the likes. I have never used mastercard for online transactions but i have visa dollar debit card from gtb which they charge $50 first year and $30 the second year, though they never charge transaction fee. I dont know what other banks charge, i want to compare because i need another card for my transaction? I dont know may be mastercard (naira ATM card ) is good for international pos and is user friendly in as much that bank uses their own exchange rate.
Any help?
Phones › Re: Google Play Store Errors ? by bigtt76(f): 3:01pm On Aug 24, 2014
First what type of phone are you using and the Android version. Next go to Application Manager, select the Google Play Store and clear the cache, access Google Play Services and repeat same. then try again.

It may also be that you don't have enough Internal Storage space on your phone (not SD Card ...apps don't save on SD cards except your phone is rooted and some tweaks carried out).

Great so you need to be on the alert for such signs or you do as sluvy4tune suggested ...buying and paying in bits.

o42austino: they require that i go to the PayPal site and make the payment which i think is scam, i noticed that the scam among Chinese are in another level, another sellergDonny electronicsh gave me his bank account details to post money but i notice that the company was not there but his personal name which is a Red flag for me.

sluvy4tune: Success in business involve taking risk, I just transfer about $100 to some1 on Alibaba for some items I need. In as much as PayPal will not protect ur money during user2user transfer try and split the payment if d money is huge
Another good option but relies heavily on TRUST by both parties. You may split payment and the receipt goes into voice mail.

You may get the the goods and you go into voicemail meaning either the seller do not deliver or you the buyer refuse to pay up the balance ...either way one person loses if TRUST is not established.

o42austino: Thank Boss for ur contribution, i guess what u mean by merchant account is those link u see on business website that ask u to login ur paypal details not those once u hv to go to Paypal website to do.
You got it. Once you checkout on the merchant site, you are required to select payment mode and once selected (PayPal for example) require you to login and process payment directly and not those that require you go to the PayPal site to do a transfer to merchant's personal account.

Which is this one requiring you to do?

dhardline: you wont have to do a biometric registration in more than one bank.just get to any preferred bank, register, get your BVN and once you are asked in any other bank just provide the same BVN.Thats how it works, same number for all banks.Thank me laterwink
More like it. Thanks for the clarification but then this would have been best served using the NIN and would encourage more Nigerians getting registered than this localized one. Anyway people must chop. Soon every state go begin register residents.

Politics › Re: A New Era Beckons As Jonathan Launches Electronic ID Card by bigtt76(f): 8:18am On Aug 24, 2014
Exactly. The banks and other selected institutions ought to have read only access to the identity database so that customers who submit the NIN can be verfied on the go.

Remember we did the bank sometin sometin in 2011 now this. I taya jaaare. Even to get SIM card or Internet access you require same.

What irks me a lot is the need to go through the process each time you need additional SIM or Internet access on the same network. You are like can't you tie all the details to my previous entry?

Now Nigeria Immigrations Service don start Address Verification and delivery requirement during passport acquisition ...who wan go verify or deliver naau?

Sincere9gerian: I agree with you. There is already a standing presidential order that all other data collected be harmonized into the National ID card as soon as majority of Nigerians registers on the National ID platform.

I was surprised when banks also started another round of biometrics registration. They should have just encouraged all their customers to register on the NIMC platform and submit their national identity number to the banks.

I understand that of INEC because the National ID will not go round before the 2015 elections.

Anyway, I know the various agencies would want to continue to collect their data differently because of revenue generation and contract awards but the president must insist on harmonization once the National ID is fully on ground.
Business › Re: I Need Info On Hw To Use Paypal To Protect My Cash on International Business by bigtt76(f): 8:14am On Aug 24, 2014
Paypal only protects Merchant/Buyer transactions. Meaning if your seller is not a certified Merchant on PayPal, no protection of transactions.

I assume you intend sending the seller payment just as you would when paying cash into a merchant's account using PayPal ...you are not protected as the seller has same individual account on PayPal as you do and what you are doing is a PayPal user to user transfer.

A PayPal certified merchant has end to end integration with PayPal. You transact on merchant's site annd check out to pay using PayPal directly and merchant do not need to give you PayPal ID to make payment.

This way, funds are first held by PayPal and merchant notified first of payment, merchant would need to fulfill transaction by releasing goods within a 45 days period before funds are released to his bank account or returned back to buyer if dispute raised.

Here, most merchants are scared to default as it would mean PayPal kicking them off and they lose credibilty.

Any thing outside this is like user to user transfers and you or the other party are not protected.

I hope this will put an end to multiple biometric registration and identification schemes in this country ...tired! I still have the Bank Verification Number thing to do ....imagine for 5 diffierent banks.

I also hope the security agents are are adequately trained and sensitized on the ID features before one policeman go begin think say you de bluff an with credit card.

On a final note, wished they harmonize everything to include your daily records such as tax payments, crimes committed etc dat way people go take more care when in the country
