OgidiBoy:Me I no send anybody! Dallas or minnesota, Romo or Favre; may the lowest INTs win! ![]() |
Its more than a new manager's luck. They have just been unfortunate with their long string of draws under Hughes. They have lost only two games to the top teams and beaten both arsenal and Chelsea. What they need is a championship mentality, and they seem to be finding it under Mancini, as they beat blackburn as expected and not gotten a draw like they would have done under Hughes. Note that Mancini is getting the results without Toure, Lescott, SWP, and Adebayor. It will take a miracle for them to win the league, but they should finish comfortably in the top 4. |
The Jets were definitely not playoff worthy, and wouldnt be in the playoffs if not for the freebie they got from the colts. Still they are the best team to matchup against the Chargers. If the Jets beat the chargers and lose to the colts in the championship game, I wonder if further eyebrow will be raised wrt to the colts freebie. I am so hoping for shootouts in the two NFC games. ![]() |
A-40:Football is not all about your running game? depending on the matchup, it could be. Ravens walloped the Pats by simply running the ball 52x The Jets are the #1 rush offence, while san diego have one of the worst rushing defence. The high octane San diego offense will be pitched against the #1 ranked overall defence (and #1 pass defence). The Jets feature this season's premier CB in Revis, who has shutdown all the top WR he has faced (TO, Moss, Andre Johnson, Ochocinco, Reggie wayne, and steve smith) and will likely take Jackson out of the game. San Diego has only played one of the top 5 pass defenses and that was denver. Of the 3 top 5 overall defence they faced, they lost to two (Ravens and Steelers) and beat only the bengals. On paper, the Jets have a more than fair chance of beating the chargers. They can take away the deep ball that san diego is fond of, apply pressure to the QB by blitzing heavily, and pound the ball on offense to keep the san diego offence on the sidelines. The only thing that can go wrong is if the Chargers jump to an early lead and the Jet are now forced to throw the ball. Its always unfavorable when a one dimensional offence goes up against an elite defence. |
Half time: Citeh 2-0 Blackburn Second goal was off a brilliant solo run by Richards ![]() |
I think the Pats have only confirmed that it is a team sport. While the likes of Belichick, Brady and Moss get all the media acclaim, other players too, particularly on the defense, deserve some credit for their contributions when the team is successful. With a poor supporting cast, Belichick was clueless, Brady became a 49.1 rating QB and moss a 48yd receiver. I wonder what happened to Moss's shoulders? I thought they could carry the weight of the world. Luckily for the Pats, they are fairly safe in their division, as I dont see anyone usurping their position as the premier team of the AFC east. It will likely take them 2-3 season to be a legitimate SB contender, but the uncapped season is not going to help. Ravens v Colts will definitely be interesting, particularly with Suggs being available this time. Still the Ravens dont have the depth at secondary to stop the colts. Their best shot would be to get an early lead while the Colts are still clearing out the cobwebs. |
If lesbians can get sexual satisfaction, I dont see the impossibility in your situation. You guys might just have to be more creative and/or employ some auxiliary stuff like intimacy gadgets. Communication will go a long way in improving things. Sexual problems are easier to solve than character flaws. |
Whoever paid for it. An engagement ring is not a gift. |
Talk about saving the best for last. Cards and Packers offenses really put on a show. Earlier, the Ravens beat up on the Pats in every ramification of the phrase. Next week: Cardinals @ Saints (Sat 4:30pm ET) If Boldin is available, I will go with the Cardinals winning on the road. Ravens @ Colts (Sat 8:15pm ET) The easiest opposition the colts could get. They should be able to beat the ravens like they have done in the previous 7 meetings. Dallas @ Vikings (Sun 1:00PM ET)) Both teams are very similar but I will go with the Vikings playing at home and the experience of Favre. Jets @ Chargers (Sun 4:40pm ET) Interesting matchup which I feel favors the Jets with their strong running game against the Chargers porous run defence. Interesting to see how Revis will do against Jackson who has a clear physical advantage. |

The bengals and eagles must have eaten too much okra, with the way they were fumbling and dropping passes. Despite Benson's success, the Bengals didnt rush the ball often enough. The entire team including the coach were terrible. The moment they fumbled on the first drive, and their coach lost the challenge, I suspected they were going to lose the game. The eagles were even worse. They couldnt get a running game going, and with McNabb having a bad day, there was no way they would win. The game was effectively over when they fumbled twice in the second qtr. Lets see what the Pats and Cardinals have for us. There is talk of Warner retiring after the playoffs. |

Kudos to the guy for being good at what he does, particularly with the meager resources he likely had, but to describe it as a major achievement for the nation is simply an admission of mediocrity. |

I doubt Vieira will contribute much on the field, but more of adding some championship mentality to the dressing room, helping Mancini communicate his approach to the players, help him with understanding the premier league etc. |
A-40:Its less dangerous holding on to the ball when you have a running game that keeps the defence from being aggressive. When you take away the running game, the defense is more aggressive, and holding on to it becomes suicidal. Ben got away with it when you had a running game. Without that, there is more of blitz pickup and quick release required. Against Cleveland, he was sacked 8x; that is too much. It didn't fail when we where 6-2. Big Ben kinda had a good year if you look at his Yards and what not we just got on the end of a lot of close losses which i really can't find the rationale for why it happened maybe it was our penchant for taking our foot off the gas in 2nd halvesYou were 6-2 because your running game was still respected. The moment teams knew you were pass happy, things changed, and even the Browns blitzed you to death. The Bengals sacked ben only once in the first game, but then sacked him 4x in the return. Even the last three wins (GB, Bal, and Miami) showed the same trend. Next season will only get worse. The bengals used to be the pass happy team in that division and were not competitive until they got their running game on track. If steelers go in that direction, they can kiss their playoff hopes of coming seasons goodbye IMO. |
A-40:Dont think your O-line was bad, but rather that ben often held on to the ball for too long. Remember that the O-line is designed primarily for rushing. A key source of steeler's problems this season is that they shied away from the run when compared to their divisional rivals who are top 10 (steelers 19th But they are not under 6ft are they? A good WR needs more than just height like you have acknowledged. What matters most is your ability not to drop it like its hot. Thats why they are called receiversI am not saying that all receivers have to be tall, but that having a WR that can go up and get the ball in traffic is a big advantage, and would be quite beneficial to a pass only team like the colts. |
There is nothing wrong in defending your position, but how you do it (tone and choice of words) will affect the perception that you are being defensive. For example - You will be perceived as being defensive if your response implies that the person asking the question (or criticizing your position) does not understand the issue at hand. - if your response is simply a reflected question e.g. Q: Is this the best approach; A: Is there a better one? - going back and forth with the audience over an issue. Some things you could do to sound less defensive - when asked a question, first move to side with the person asking the question, by repeating the question or asking follow up question to clarify details. - Crediting the person, by saying such as ' Your question raises an interesting point' - Showing willingness to admit you are wrong or at fault. Do not blame others. - When a question is becoming a sticky point, offer to discuss it in more detail after the presentation. You dont want to get into a 1on1 with anyone. Your response should always be directed at the entire audience - Do not sound paranoid, as if everyone is out to get you. They are not. - Pause and breathe. Always try to stay in control of your emotions. No matter how hurt or angry you may get, you need to stay calm. Emotional responses often sound defensive. - Always smile. A presentation should be more of a sales pitch and less of a market haggle. You are trying to carry your audience along and not drag them along. |

A-40:Reggie wayne, collie, and garcon, are all 6.0ft. Only Clark (6-3) can be considered tall. Compared that to San Diego with floyd (6-5), Jackson (6-5), Gates (6-3) and naanee (6-2). Brandon Marshall (6-4), Fitzgerald (6-3), Moss (6-4), Miles Austin (6-3), Sidney Rice (6-4), Colston (6-4) and Andre Johnson (6-3) use their height and reach advantage to create matchup problem going deep. One needs to credit diminutive play makers like Holmes, ward and desean jackson. A tall receiver is a nightmare for most CBs. |
bawomolo:Yes it is unlikely, more so after all the Offensive coaches have been fired for his sake. Still wonder if Shanahan would try. The more interesting target for Shanahan would be Brandon Marshall, who is definitely unsettled in Denver, but the cap year problem could make him 'untradable'. I wish the Colts would get a big receiver like that. The colts receivers are much smaller, and tall guys do have some advantages in the NFL, if in doubt ask anyone who has played San diego. |
The data of interest is the gender ratio at marriage age e.g. 20-35yrs. Mortality rate of men is higher growing up, e.g. they take up the riskier jobs like military service. |
The problem is less with the ex-presidents, but more with the idiots we have in the legislative, but then what do you expect when most are selected, not elected. |
So Shanahan, and his son, former Texans offensive cordinator, Kyle, are on their way to the Shitskins. Wonder if he will try to get his boy Cutler ![]() |
bawomolo:said she wasnt driving fast and that chris jumped. I am, as sure as one can be without being there, that she was driving fast. You dont cruise when you are having a dispute with someone. If she really cared, she would have stopped. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4795776 |
My thought on the teams AFC #1 Colts - The question is about if they will be rusty. If we win the divisional game, we will win the SB. Still, I am not too optimistic about it. With Freeney and Mathis free, they have a best pass rush pair and will be able to deal with San diego and NE. #2 Chargers - A very interesting team with their tall receivers. Would have loved to see them against Revis and the Jets. Outside of the Colts, the should be able to handle everyone else. #3 Pats - They would have been an interesting matchup for the Chargers, but with Welker out, I doubt they can get past Baltimore. NE has operated with primarily 2 receivers all season, and now they are down to one. Add a sputtering running game, and a dodgy pass defence, and there is just so much one can ask of "Brady to Moss". Sorry but NE will be 1 and done. #4 Bengals - Interesting rematch against the Jets, which I expect them to win, but I dont see them going beyond the divisional rounds against either the colts or chargers. #5 Jets - Great defence and running game, but a woeful passing game. Sanchez will have to transform overnight for them to beat the bengals. The bengals will take away the running game and have Sanchez try to beat them in the air. With Mark '20 INTs' Sanchez throwing the ball, and Braylon 'drop it like its hot' Edwards receiving? it aint gonna happen! #6 Ravens - The Ravens are my dangerous team of the AFC. They have the post season experience, a very good QB in flacco, solid running game with Rice and McGahee, and several players like that can make plays on either side of the ball including on special teams. Their only short coming is their weak secondary that has no shutdown corners and need double coverage, but this shouldnt be a problem against a 'welkerless' NE. If the beat NE, meet a rusty Colts, meet the Chargers who they beat in wk2 (and not the bengals that swept them) they have a good chance of getting into the SB. NFC #1 Saints - Not looking good. Their performance has been mediocre in the last 5 games. Add the lack #2 Vikings - Have the ingredients (in Favre, AP, and a great defence), and the recipe (run first and let Favre make big plays with the play fake), but the question is can they cook?. Childress and Favre need to sort out their issues, and AP needs to protect the ball better. With those issues unresolved, I dont see them going beyond their first game. #3 Cowboys - One and done against the eagles. Th inexperience of Romo and the cowboys will come to the fore, and they will once again choke against the eagles. There is a reason the Cowboys haven't one a playoff game in 10yrs. #4 Cardinals - The team whose performance is a random process. Their game against the packers is an interesting one, and I feel with Warner playing they should be able to get over the packers. They will definitely need boldon and cromartie back to stand a chance. They are the most unpredictable and dangerous team in the NFC. #5 Packers - Nice team but I doubt they will get past Arizona, and even if they do, there chances are not good against the Vikings or saints. #6 Eagles - I expect them to beat Dallas this time around, and should be able to get past the saints, but I dont see them beating the vikings, Cardinals or packers. |
JeSoul:I have never watched a live pro-bowl game, so I understand that they did it to increase its popularity, but am not sure placing it a week b4 SB will make people anymore interested. Although I think its the best solution they have, short of a mid season version, which will not go down well with teams. At least, the current arrangement only excludes SB bound players. |
and then there were 12! AFC #1 Colts #2 Chargers #3 Pats v #6 Ravens (Sunday, January 10) #4 Bengals V #5 Jets (Saturday, January 9) NFC #1Saints #2 Vikings #3 Cowboys v #6 Eagles (Sunday, January 10) #4 Cardinals V #5 Packers (Saturday, January 9) Definitely some interesting Wk17 rematches. Lets see if Cardinal, Bengals and Eagles were just playing dead. |
Great week for the boys: 8pts lead in L1 with a game in hand, and an FA cup win over united. Just splendid . |
