NIGERIAN DEVELOPMENT MOVEMENT – Get Involved (A call to social reawakening) Nigeria. A Country since inception that has been plagued with civil war, coups (which instigated dictatorial regimes), infrastructural decay and underdevelopment, corruption, bad governance and social degradation. The country has challenges of which many read like a list of common problems in Africa: a non functioning democracy, freedom of speech or a lack of it, politics driven by ethnic chauvinism and biases along similar lines, lack of basic infrastructure, no accountability in government, defunct industries, a dilapidating educational sector and many more problems which serve as a hindrance towards genuine progress. Such has been the fate of a country abundantly blessed with raw materials and people resources capable of lifting countries the world over out of poverty if properly utilised and yet the opposite has been the case with each new iteration of government, seemingly sliding Nigeria further into the trenches of underdevelopment and retrogression. A country that while rich in its diversity, in seeming unism lauds its social morality exemplified in principles like respect for elders, community living, social life and service, and strong family bonds of which the people are proud of. A country rich in individuals of various professions who while under appreciated by the current Nigeria have been able to blossom and receive greater respect in the global sphere. We have writers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, business men and entrepreneurs that contribute their services the world over and yet still can’t boast of a home country that is worthy of respect attained through progress, development and national principles expressed in the quality and leadership of government. Wherever Africans are present abroad a Nigerian is very likely to be close by. Whenever Nigerians meet it is very likely that the issue of Nigeria is brought up at some point, an issue which seems to inspire passion, heartbreak at the situation and a desire to see change and development as attains in more developed countries especially when these changes are mostly simple in true implementation while only requiring the genuine will to implement and actualise them. Whenever Nigerians meet such are the characters of their discourse and such are the questions asked by people who traverse the length and breadth of the nation. The simple truth is that we have all been collectively let down by the nation called Nigeria and over the various avenues which allow discussion and debates like internet forums, news papers, television broadcasting, radio and the likes, one would find people debating on the issues of the nation time and time again while the nation continues on its path of degradation regardless of the quality of such discourses. While the country is diverse in its union ranging from ethnic groups to religious affiliation, what seems unifying through all groups is the desire for development, the desire for change, the desire for a country to be proud of, a country to raise children in, a country with prospects, a country that can be a beacon of hope to Africa in terms of leadership, governance and development. Rather than letting a focus on what divides continue to stifle progress and development the belief is in allowing the desire for a better Nigeria unite as all. We have an opportunity each day to move beyond rhetoric, arguments and debates irrespective of how articulate, well debated or eloquent such are. We have the opportunity to instigate change and we can change the nation, we can work and act to bring about change in whatever capacity we are able to regardless of what field or profession we ply and regardless of our earning power, for change does not solely rely on such factors but on the genuine willingness to change and follow such desires with actions geared towards bringing about such positive change. This is not a political party of any sort but a social movement. A social movement that seeks to bring about change in all strata of Nigeria which people are willing to contribute in. We invite and encourage all who want to contribute in whichever sector they are willing to contribute in. We welcome all who want to make an impact and we ask that all feel free for this is not about any one person but about the change we desire for Nigeria, this is not about any one person but about a people’s movement. This is a platform for working towards actualisations of set goals in whatever sphere anyone is interested in contributing in and in whatever capacity people are willing to contribute in to positively impact on Nigeria, we have the opportunity to act. This is not about being financially aggrandised but actions towards the greater good, not about power or egos but selfless service towards development. Democracy has being described as “government by the people, of the people, for the people”. What is sought is a reawakening of “the people”, you and I. Get involved and spread the word. Would you stand to be counted? |

policeman and doctors Salesman to Policeman A salesman, tired of his job, gave it up to become a policeman. Several months later, a friend asked him how he liked his new role. "Well," he replied, "the pay is good and the hours aren't bad, but what I like best is that the customer is always wrong." Kidneys and Livers Two old men were arguing the merits of their doctors. The first one said, "I don't trust your fancy doctor. He treated old Jake Waxman for a kidney ailment for nearly a year, and then Jake died of a liver ailment." "So what makes you think your doctor is any better?" asked his friend. "Because when my doctor treats you for a kidney ailment, you can be sure you'll die of a kidney ailment." |

May the peace and blessing of the almighty Allah be upon u all. i am here to answer ur questions one after the other. davidylan:now u got the answer. davidylan:about ur post, this is ur response., islam was gained groud from God mercy. and not from democracy or what u call. we have been in power ever b4 democracy. and we will continue to spread the truth. nothing but the truth. we will continue to be in power till the last day where we all wil stand b4 God. and then guess what? We will also be the happy people b4 God. why dont u seek for the truth with ur open heart instead of shying away. if a muslim person commit a crime, it doesnot matter. and that those not concern his religion. every one will be responsible for his or her wrong did. Islam preaches peace. and if i, u, or anybody did not get the message right, we are to be responsible for it. and when we get the message wrong or understanding it in the opposite way. we are to face the consiquencies of our did. so get the religion right and stop saying negative thing abt us. May the almighty bless and guide u too. morpheus24:My brother. no food is forbiden by Qur'an except that is unclean. The objective of Islam is to purify all aspects of human life and soul. It therefore insists that besides cleansing the inner self from contamination, care must be exercised in the intake of food and drinks. Only the clean and pure among them should be eaten and drunk. While answering a question in the Qur’a#n regarding animals tamed for hunting, the Almighty has spelled out this general principle in the words: ‘ all pure things are lawful to you), (4:5). As an obvious corollary, all impure things are forbidden to the believers. While inviting the Jews and Christians to profess faith in Muhammad (sws), the Almighty has referred to the extremist attitude they had adopted with regard to food and drinks in the following words: And he allows them as lawful what is good [and pure] and prohibits them from what is bad [and impure]; he releases them from their heavy burdens and from the yokes that were upon them. (7:157). so take note and may Allah help u. bawomolo:i have answred ur question. all ur question and arguement has been cleared. plz i mean no insult to any one. although some of my word might sound offensive, but am sorry for that. May Allah guide and protect u. cheers.[/quote] |

Heavenly test A Christian, a Muslim and a Buddhist die and arrive at the Gate of Heaven. An angel (or deva) stops them and asks, "Why do you come here? Can you tell me the reasons why you are allowed to enter Heaven?" The Christian replies, "My ancestors disobeyed God, and I sinned all my life: I killed, I lied, I cheated my wife and I was greedy. However, Jesus died for me and all my sins are forgiven. So I deserve to enter Heaven." "OK," replies the Angel. "Sounds good, but I must give you an entrance examination before you can enter." The Christian promptly agrees and the Angel asks him: "How do you spell God?" It is an easy question, and the Christian passes through the Gate. Next came the Muslim, who says, "I did not do any especially good or evil things during my life but I was very devout. I prayed to God five times a day. So, I too should enter Heaven." The Angel replies, "It sounds OK to me, but I have to give you a test also. How do you spell Allah?" The Muslim passes the test and enters Heaven. Finally, it is the Buddhist's turn. He tells the Angel, "I've done all the good things in my life and I followed Buddha's five precepts: I never killed, I donated to charities, I meditated every day, and I never cheated my boss nor my customers." The Angel replies, "That is very good, but there are no exceptions. You must pass the entrance test also in order to get in." Thinking that the test should be simple, the Buddhist happily agrees. The Angel then asks him: "How do you spell Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva? " the Buddisst cant spell it and the angel replied,Heaven is not 4 u. abi u fit spell that? |
Is Qur'aan Perfect? In responding to the propaganda that if verses in the Qur'aan incite violence, I came across a set of five questions, that have been repeatedly asked and I am pleased to respond to them. I am a Muslim and blessed to be one and I pray every one feels the same about their individual faith. My faith connects me with my Creator and answers the purpose of life, death, accountability, justice and results. The Islam I know is what the majority of Muslims practice around the world, it is universal, all embracing and pluralistic. I relate with every faith and see the same essence and beauty in them as I see in Islam. I am comfortable with every beautiful way people have come to worship the divine. We do not have to undermine other faiths to make our faith better, faith is beyond comparisons. Faith brings humility to oneself and not arrogance. Some of us are too eager to point the fingers at the "apparent words in the scriptures of Qur'aan or any book that appear to be exclusive in nature ", my urging is not to get stuck in the given understanding of the scripture and re-examine and understand it from a perspective of inclusiveness, as God cannot be exclusive, if he (she or it) does, then he is not the kind of God we all believe; the causer, source of creation and the sustainer. The questions and my answers; Prophet Muhammad did nothing wrong or bad in his life? He never claimed to be divine, he was a human like you and I and he mentioned that he will die like every one else and wanted to be buried like every one. His life was a model for living the life with human fallibilities and how to get up and be the best human you can be, despite the adversities. He faced a whole range of difficulties and accusations, as most of the humans would, and the way he handled the situations became a model for any human to follow. Qur'aan is immutable? Qur'aan offers broader understanding of the human issues and as such it has room to absorb diversity. We believe it is for all seasons and all times to come, it lends itself to be a guidance book for any situations, imagined and real. It is not a dogma to go against a good idea and become immutable, it is rather a book of guidance and you are free to practice it or ignore it, the choice is yours. You are accountable for your Karma and not any one else. What some Muslims have done in enforcing their way upon others is wrong, there is no compulsion in faith, and one can choose to be a Muslim or not any number of times. The apostasy laws were politically motivated and go against the very grain of Islam; free will. Most people in power tend to dictate others, including "pushing democracy" onto others, or buying the influence or subduing others with the military might; the religion of Islam is about free will. Individuals are responsible for their wrong doing not their religion, just a Presidents ought to be responsible for his ( and eventually her) wrong doings. 1. Qur'aan was the true and final word of God? It is the true and final word of God for the Muslims who believe in it, it is not for the Christians, Hindus, Jews or others who are not familiar with it. However, if one sincerely reads the Qur'aan, they will find the essence of Justice, fairness; truth and peace resonate in Qur'aan . Finding the truth is your own responsibility, as you will be one to bear the joys and miseries of life based on what you believe or not. |
Assalamualaikum Muslim jurists are of the opinion that it is lawful for the husband to perform cunnilingus on his wife, or a wife to perform the similar act for her husband (MouthAction) and there is no wrong in doing so. But if sucking leads to releasing semen, then it is Makruh (blameworthy), but there is no decisive evidence (to forbid it). These parts are not dirty like anus, but it is ordinarily disgusting to man. But there is no decisive evidence to make it unlawful, especially if the wife agrees with it or achieves orgasm by practicing it. Allah, Exalted and Glorified be He, says: "And who guard their modesty, save from their wives or the slaves, that I heir right hands possess, for then they are not blameworthy, but Who so craveth beyond that, such are transgressors.” (Al-Mu'minun: 5-7)” In the light of this, scholars maintain that the husband is allowed to enjoy his wife through any means of enjoyment except anal sex, for that is strictly forbidden. Dr. Ali Jum`ah, professor of the Principles of Islamic Jurisprudence at Al-Azhar Univ., says further that licking, sucking and kissing spouse's sexual organs are all allowed, as long as it gives a person sexual gratification that will keep him away from Haram (unlawful) or starring at opposite sex (marriageable). But every Muslim must keep in mind that sexual intercourse is just a lust and passion that must be satisfied in a lawful way; it's not to be perceived as necessary as foods and drinks, as it's the case in the Western perverted ideology. Shedding more light on this, Dr. Sabri `Abdul Ra’ouf, professor of Islamic Comparative Jurisprudence, at Al-Azhar Univ, says that it's allowed for the married couple to enjoy each other as long as what they do does not run counter to the teachings of Islam or violate the public norms. He also gives support to the view of Sheikh Al-Qaradawi that MouthAction or kissing private parts of the spouse is something viewed disgusting to Muslims, but if the aim is just kissing (without having constant indulgence in it) it's not sinful to do that, but people of high morality normally keep away from that, as not to give in to imitating non-Muslims.” But note that it is not a practice of a good muslim. cheers |
u re welcome |
jazakallahu khaira |
the reason is here Pork Human nature has always remained averse to eating beasts. No one generally eats beasts who tear apart their prey either through their long canine teeth or through their claws or both to eat their meat like lions, tigers, elephants and vultures etc. Such animals were never liked by man for eating. On the other hand, quadruped beasts like goats, cows and camels which graze on grass and do not have large canine teeth or claws have always been relished by human nature. The meat of such animals has always been eaten. Consider now the pig. We know that besides tearing apart its prey to eat meat, it also consumes plants and vegetables. In other words, since the pig simultaneously belongs to both categories it would have been difficult for human beings to class it in either. Its plant consumption nature could have impelled some to eat it while beastly nature of tearing its prey could have dispelled some from eating it. So man could have faltered in grouping it in either of the two categories. It is here that the Almighty told us that carnivorous nature in which it tears apart its prey is dominant over its herbivorous nature, and therefore it should be avoided. Consequently, in the Old Testament, the prohibition of pork is mentioned in words which subtly allude to this double nature of the animal: The pig is also unclean; although it has a split hoof, it does not chew the cud. You are not to eat their meat or touch their carcasses. (Deuteronomy, 14: ![]() cheers |
