@bioye
If you were me, where would you go?

@Iwerebor
Hmm.  At the moment, the only help I can offer includes the following:
1.  Visit the following pages on this thread where some stockbrokers have been suggested: page 11, page 20, and page 39

2.  Personally, I used Afrinvest (formerly Sectrust) with a lot of satisfaction.  I registered with them 2 years ago.  Then they required N500,000 to open an account but the guy I spoke with was nice enough to allow something lesser.  They are highly professional and I would advise you call(01-2701680-cool or email(sales@afrinvestwa.com) them for more enquiry.  Their website is http://www.afrinvestwa.com

3.  If you have the time, you could check out Stockbroker websites for more information at Nigerian Stockbrokers and Stockbrokers in Nigeria

@iwerebor,

NBA:

Yes. N100K

Crossworld - http://www.crossworldsec.biz/

Cashcraft - http://www.cashcraft.com/default.asp

And a couple of the smaller brokers may accept N100K or less.

If I were you I would stay off Cashcraft. I had bad experiences with them and others have reported similar issues on this thread and elsewhere on nairaland. Their services are just too inefficient in general.

I heard a song that goes "The Land is Green, ", so lovely it sounded American with all the quality. I guess that's Greenland, one of the major songs on the album. It's always played on Sunday mornings on Dan Foster's gospel radio show and Cool FM in general. I cant wait to buy the album. Nigeria: Ty Bello - My Album is the Story of My Life

For FAQ about investing in Nigerian Stock Market, you can look at falcon securities faq and cashcraft faq. You can get similar useful links to resources at karakataonline.com especially since you are not in Nigeria.  The site provides links to quality resources for nigerian investors and it's free.  You can even create a dummy portfolio and see how it would perform before you actually start investing using the portfolio tool.

Good day everyone,

We've been testing our investment solution (karakataonline.com) for nigerians for a while now and I guess I might ask for your candid opinion and feedback on what you think of the solution and how we might improve it satisfy your investment needs.  Of particular focus is the portfolio link which allows you to track your portfolio for free.

Note that the solution is still in development so it might not solve all your needs right now.  Expecting your responses!  Thank you.
Investment / Re: Investor Delight: Stock Portfolio Valuation Tool by bioye(m): 11:33am On Jul 05, 2007
I could not help commenting. It's definitely a nice tool and the website is quite attractive. I logged in and tried to do some stuff but it was taking time. I guess I'll try it again.

I must confess we are working on a very similar solution hence we are like competition. But they say there could be healthy competition right? At the end of the day, what matters most is that the end-user gets to choose the best tool for their needs.

Once again, nice one.

Good work with the karakata site. I had already drawn up an excel spreadsheet for myself incorporating all those stuff, and including the selling charges so I could simulate the exact price gain when selling at a particular price. However, your site makes it easier since I dotn have to manually enter the prices I get daily from my broker. Real good work.
I noticed there's no Dangote Sugar sha. Hope you'll add it??

Apologies if this post is offtopic.

DANGOTE SUGAR REFINERY PLC has been added to the stock list along with other outstanding stocks earlier ommitted.  Remember to always use the feedback page of http://www.karakataonline.com.  Thank you.

Nice job you guys are doing here.  I can see quite a number of people are interested in fundamental and technical tools for choosing what stock to buy or sell and when to buy or sell.  I hereby recommend a simple website that allows you to track your portfolio as it appreciates over time.  It displays the percentage change per day and a chart of your portfolio according to specified date range.

Go to http://www.karakataonline.com to try it out.  It is still a solution in the works so it might look rather simplistic or bumpy but I believe it can still add some value to you.  And more features will be added in the next few weeks.

Kindly provide feedback via the feedback page of the site.
Romance / Re: Signs That She/he Is Cheating ? by bioye(m): 6:24pm On Apr 28, 2007
She never wants me to answer her calls.
She always deletes her text messages
She goes to "all-night parties" on odd days only - Tuesdays, Thursdays
She does not answer some calls when she's with me
She talks to him more than she does to me on the phone.  She is the one always calling him
I found out she was lying that it was a girl she was talking to on the phone
She became reluctant to come to my place unless I kept asking
She switches her phone off when she's spending the night with me
Switches her phone off at those 'all-night' parties

Has she always cheated on me?
Or could I be totally wrong?

@ Twinstaiye. Hmm, I remember you from ndl/mn.  Yes, Jimi Agbaje did not win.  As long as the election is accepted to be fair, I guess we just have to accept it.  I'll respond with the detailed results as per Agbaje when I received it.  Thanks.

Meanwhile, it's high time I changed my siggy.

You can tune to Radio Nigeria (92.9 FM in Lagos), they have been announcing results which seem authentic from INEC.
Meanwhile, results should be formally announced by INEC at a press conference by 1.00pm (12noon GMT) nigerian time today.  You can tune in to NTA to view it. There should be updates every 1hr from then,

Maurice Iwu is lying (that is if the news report is true). Jimi Agbaje made it clear that he submitted 4 passport photos to INEC on time.

@panalyst: No, I did not. Why did you ask? Meanwhile, this is offtopic and I would advise we take this to IM. Thanks.
Politics / Re: Jimi Agbaje's Picture Was Omitted On Ballot Papers by bioye(m): 3:18pm On Apr 14, 2007
For me, instead of letting inec and the opposition get away with this, it can actually be used as an advantage for Jimi Agbaje. First, of all the Lagos Governorship candidates, the highest publicity today has been for Jimi Agbaje. This is an opportunity to let people know that the opposition is really scared of Agbaje being the preferred choice. Hence, we need to urge people to go out and vote for him. Even people can start changing their minds now to vote for Jimi Agbaje instead of their former choices.

It is not an unfair advantage unless we allow it. We can definitely make it an advantage if we are smart about it.
Politics / Re: Jimi Agbaje's Picture Was Omitted On Ballot Papers by bioye(m): 2:38pm On Apr 14, 2007
Let's not misinform people here. Jimi Agbaje is on the candidate list. His party name DPA is there, the party logo is there and his name is there. It's only his picture that is missing. Hence, fellow supporters of Jimi Agbaje, dont let the corrupt opposition confuse you. Go out en masse and vote for Jimi Agbaje. caring. thinking. working.
Politics / Re: Who Will Rule Lagos Come May 2007? by bioye(m): 2:36pm On Apr 14, 2007
I voted in my area - Magodo Phase I, Iseri.  True Jimi Agbaje's picture is missing but the party name, logo and Jimi Agbaje's name are present . I got there 9am and voting hadnt started.  I was asked to return 10am.  I returned 11.10am and I was able to vote.  I did not notice any thugs at the polling booth.  It appeared peaceful.

Despite the fact that Jimi Agbaje's picture is missing, I am 100% confident that he will win the election and become the next governor of Lagos State.  Let's not look at this as half-glass empty but as half-glass full.  We should not believe that the actions of a corrupt few can undermine the overwhelming votes for Jimi Agbaje.  May the best candidate win.  Amin.

Vote Jimi Agbaje for Governor, Lagos State, 2007. caring.thinking.working.
