Let me just respond here. I would have preferred Amina was evicted too. But I guess the Board had their reason for letting her off the hook. What reason did they give again? Did not hear it clearly.

Meanwhile, I was most impressed that each team made so much money within 4 days.

ES-TEAM = N63,930
M.O.D.E = N119, 945

Really, if you were given 20k to run a business within one week, what would you do with it?

And I like the ES-TEAM name, so ingenious.

I think the musician is Adaz. And he also sang Pepperminter. He seems to be from Ajegunle. Anyone heard about him?

@demybk

I applaud you for starting this thread.  Being your first, I hope you keep coming back to nairaland.

Some time ago, I accidentally came across a Lijadu Sisters interview and a download of orere elejigbo on a nigerian music website.  Sweet memories of theirs came flowing back as I closed my eyes for a while.  I've now confirmed that site to be naijams.com.  While trying to figure the link, I did a google search and I must tell you there is a lot about Lijadu sisters, their music and even free song downloads online than you can imagine.  Just search google  for Lijadu sisters now!

Crime / Re: Rev King Has Been Sentenced To Death By Hanging by bioye(m): 8:53pm On Jan 11, 2007
I heard the story too on Channels on the news between 7pm and 8pm Nigerian time.  I guess it will make it to the internet news sites. a couple of hours from now.

Well, I don't support the death penalty.  I would rather his sentence be commuted to life imprisonment with hard labour.  I guess he and his lawyers are preparing to appeal.

Politics / Re: Video Apparently Showing Hussein Wounds Emerges by bioye(m): 4:40pm On Jan 10, 2007
Jakumo:

Big B1 if you travel Nigeria's roads and highways for more than a day or two, then you are bound to have seen human road-kill - unclaimed corpses, lying out in the sun along the roadside in various stages of putrefaction, so I am a bit surprised to hear that you lost your appetite over the sight of a neck injury.

Most Nigerians are very used to the sight of corpses lying around unclaimed for weeks on end, and are far too hungry to lose their appetites over any visual stimulus. You must lead a comparatively sheltered life when you are in Nigeria.

Sir, be careful with the exaggerated propanganda you spread.   I've lived in Nigeria all my life especially Lagos.  What you claim might have been true decades ago but definitely not the case today.  Particularly, in my  last 13 years in Lagos, I have seen only 2 corpses on the road, and they were removed within a few hours.

Business / Re: Who Is Your Customer? by bioye(m): 9:27am On Jan 09, 2007
For me, making money or satisfying my customer is not enough reason to be in business. The reason why I am in business is to create value, to add value to peoples' lives. The consumer of my product has to derive joy from using my service/product/solution. The product has to fit her like second skin. The achievement of that goal is the source of my own happiness. smiley

Awesome thread, I must say.  Now I understand the clearly the terms:

1.  Customer
2.  Consumer
3.  Any factor that drives sales

But may I ask which is more important?

1.  How much money the business makes? or
2.  How much value the business creates?

I saw the show too on Friday immediately after Who Wants To Be A Millionaire.  I'm really loving it.  Too bad the show was so so delayed and the website is somewhat abandoned.

Well, it provides us an opportunity to make this thread a makeshift update link.  So who can help with the info of the 10 interns?

Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by bioye(m): 10:21am On Jan 06, 2007
The Bible is a compilation of books which share similar origins with the Jewish Torah.  The books were selected under the influence of a Roman Emperor by his subject  for political reasons.  The acceptability of some of these books was debated many Christian scholars in th those days.  Indeed, books of the Bible contradict themselves many times.

Where are the other scriptures that were left out?
Was the Emperor and his subject influenced by God in selecting the books of the Bible?

Music/Radio / Who Knows This Song? Sarobome Maria by bioye(m): 4:00pm On Jan 03, 2007
I'm trying to find out about this lovely song I've been listening to on radio. Some lines I can remember:

Sarobome, Maria
Rilekome, Maria
Say you are the one for me, I'm the one for you, blah blah

Who sang the song?
And what is the title of the song?
And what is the title of the album?

Thanks.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death By Hanging by bioye(m): 12:57pm On Jan 03, 2007
@Mckren,

Please, go carefully through my post.  Is there anything in their that supports muslims attacking christians (either verbally or physically) or even vice versa?  No.

I do not support violence in the name of Islam and there are appropriate threads for that discussion.  This thread is about the killing of Saddam and circumstances surrounding it.  (Has any Nigerians been killed as a result of Saddam's execution?)

Can we practise some religious tolerance and keep to the subject of the thread, please?

Whether we like it or not, these religions are simply extensions of foreign cultures fighting for supremacy among those of us who have pledged blindly to denounce our cultures.  Now, that's what I call Shame.
Foreign Affairs / Re: Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death By Hanging by bioye(m): 11:05am On Jan 03, 2007
It bothers me that some people are trying to use this thread as an avenue to propagate hate and attack muslims.  I believe your faith does not encourage you to do this.

Like I said before, there is no big deal if Saddam gets hanged, afterall he is a killer.  Lesser criminals have been killed without the batting of an eyelid.

However, being a high-profile execution, it begs the opportunity for retrospection

Should we support the Death Penalty
Does the US have the moral or legal right to orchestrate Saddam's execution?  Their excuse?
Who has caused more deaths, more suffering in Iraq and indeed other parts of the world?  Saddam or The Bush family?

Are we so blind as to see a few Americans' unflinching pursuit of blood money at the expense of developing countries like ours?
Foreign Affairs / Re: Saddam Hussein Sentenced To Death By Hanging by bioye(m): 10:44am On Dec 30, 2006
He's been hanged. How sad.

I'm not saying he did not do anything wrong. But what's Bush's business in Iraq in the first place? If his people hanged him then I would have understood.

What does Bush or anyone indeed gain by hanging Saddam? What about the thousands of innocent Iraqis that have died and keep dying because of Bush's unjustified invasion of Iraq. It's all about the money that Bush and friends are interested in making.

Saddam is a villain. But so is Bush.
