@iice, Heart is a rarely available movie and I hope you find it. @gbade.x, you dey vex o. So which movie do you think is the best ever and what do you have against ShawShank Redemption? For your info, ShawShank Redemption has almost overtaken Godfather as the no 1 movie as voted worldwide by users on imdb.com at imdb top 250 movies ever. Moreover, it has the highest number of votes on the list. |
common @omogenaija. that's because Seun stopped people from registering. Normally, we used to have multiple registrations in minutes. Now, it appears like 1 registration per week. Seun says he needs time off for his movie projects. Remember the story writing threads? It's linked to that. Meanwhile, why dont you make your prediction? Who knows? Maybe you are better at predicting |
if only Omotola wasn't bleaching |
For those of you who don't like Daniel Craig, don't worry he'll soon subconsciously get immersed into your psyche and it would soon seem as if he's been Bond all his life. Yeah, the beginning of the movie is much better than the ending. Yes, the black guy jumping through the narrow slit and Bond passes through the wall were great parts. Also, the way he did the decoy, killed the black guy and blew up the whole place. And, I don't think the Bond girl is not hot enough. The movie is good but I hate the fact that the beginning is better than the end!! |
Heart british movie written by Jimmy McGovern that movie caught me off guard Yeah, and ShawShank Redemption remains the best movie of all time. Common, tell me you've seen it. |
I do. Personally, I'll really welcome more subtlety in movies. We have to realise that the Nigerian Movie audience is a very wide one. Some people love the English home videos, some prefer the Yoruba ones, others the Mexican soaps while others can't wait to go to the Cinemas to see a well-made Hollywood movie. Hence, I guess the target of the subtle movies will mainly be those people that appreciate good acting Hollywood-style. For me the only Nigerian movies that have consistently hit the minimum quality mark for me are Tunde Kelani's movies. Despite Tade Ogidan's many attempts, I always find something just not right about the casting, the acting or the storyline. |
@Seun, In other words, hold the party but call it another name. No biggie. @Kitaun, In other words, you are no more interested. Too bad. But you don't need to discourage whoever still is. Meanwhile, I don't subscribe to the compulsory posting of email and numbers here. There are better ways of going about it. |
too bad how the meeting went however, i see it as a partial success because I don't think Nairaland users have ever met for a party plan before - more like glass half full. so, let's take the next steps. i am down 100%. though I missed this thread because of the unseriousness of previous attempts. Jammin has some ideas we can work on - networking, branding. we need to exchange yahoo ids and gsm numbers over time. So we have given up on december, right? Should we start planning towards Easter? And the Poll responses have been dismal so far. I tell you - a lot of people are interested but are twice shy because of previous failed attempts. For starters, we need to unite all the Let's Have A Party Threads To cut the long story short, I'm down 100% for logistics and planning. |
If only we could all understand each other and just agree. You cannot make love by mistake. You cannot have sex unintentionally. It is always intentional. Hence not a mistake. It could be lack of self-control. About being drunk, you don't get drunk by mistake either. It's also lack of self control. About mistaking a stranger for your partner in the bedroom, common. You are so used to your partner, you'll definitely feel the difference! You'll talk or have pre-intimacy. S/he will feel different and all that. I doubt if that's tenable as a mistake too. What if you had sex with the person under emotional stress but the sex was unforgettable, will you still deem it a mistake? |
Update on the eLDee album. The video of Champion is out on youtube.com. Check it out. Also, eLDee is billed to perform at Silverbird's Rhythm Unplugged on Friday, 22nd December, 2006 at Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos along with other top nigerian artistes. See you there. |
thank you for the report, ynot. it appears this is the only page that has the detailed results on the internet so far. up nairaland. meanwhile, how were you able to monitor the elections from over there? AIT on Satellite? |
I just found out that Java 6 has been released. It is said to have great performance out of the box, works well with Vista and is low on bugs. Check it out at: Java 6 Released |
Another cool flash site. Not bad at all. You want to see more flash? check out: Big Ideas Come out of Big Pencils |
Is there God? Should I believe in the Bible? the Quran? Why are people religious? Everything a Christian believes, everything originates from the bible. Right? So, let's start from there. The Bible. Who wrote the Bible? Who compiled the various scriptures? Which scriptures were left out and why? Why was the Bible compiled? What languages were the original Books and when were the translations done? If indeed the Bible is the word of God, then the answers to these questions will help us to get started. |
thank you for this info. I've been itching to ask or search the forum for this link information. I think Seun should make this information available in the website rules or something. Just testing: what's the coolest website you visited recently? |
@G-reycells - ok I'll check it out. Meanwhile, guys, check out http://www.stumbleupon.com Here's how it works. You register on the website, select interests and install the toolbar. Click Stumble! on the toolbar and it takes you to a suggested website based on your interests. You can vote in favour or against the choice. I think it's a great tool for bored people who want to discover something new and exciting on the web often. |
For years, all these claims have been unconfirmed rumours. Yes, people kidnap and kill with the intention of getting rich. But do they really get rich doing so? What are the processes involved? I'm sorry but I would never believe anything unless I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt. If you base your facts on rumours, then what's the point in going to school in the first place? If the world could believe the world was flat for so long, and even kill a man that claimed that it was round? If Nigerians can still believe that the world began in a Garden of Eden, of course you'll hastily believe these Money Rituals are real without asking any question whatsoever! It is a goal of mine to find out about these misleading claims and the people behind them. The quest has begun. |
@ G-reycells, I think that website is cool. Nice once. @ bellars, the idea is not to discuss website with nice designs but those great sites that you get useful information, interesting services or have a lot of fun on. Y'know the ones you get hooked on and want to visit all the time (like nairaland). And also, everyone, try to summarise what the website is about for us too. For me, I find http://www.wheretogoinlagos.com quite interesting. If you are looking for where to catch some fun or the latest fun spots in lagos during the weekend or anytime, this is the website to go. Especially great for people visiting from outside lagos. |
come to think of it, I wont mind having a friend on nairaland. you know - chat, phone calls, fool around? |
Every once in a while, I discover a rather useful or eye-opening website, and I'm like wow! How come I never knew about this website? It's so great! Well, have you seen any such website recently? If so, share with us! |
hmm, tosinadeda, I thought I was the only one who was blinded by my favourite rapper. Easy now |
Thanks to Seun, Blaise has now been added to the poll list. So, Blaise fans, start voting. You've got a lot of catching up to do. For the record, my vote went to Sasha. Peace out. |
Seun, did you read the articles. There are enough pointers to how they're and will be making money there. Yeah, I know about the dot com boom but not only did google survive it, they are one of biggest online companies in the world. Naahh, I don't think they are making a mistake. |
Seun:Men, that post is so funny, I forgot how to laugh. What's time magazine's invention of the year? http://www.time.com/time/2006/techguide/bestinventions/inventions/youtube.html |
I'll come out straight here - back to the genesis. why would 2 adults have sex without protection if they did not want a baby? why didn't you use an oral contraception immediately after the act? did he want the baby in the first place? We cannot blame the guy too much for the pregnancy. You wanted the pregnancy. He did not. Yeah, the guy is obviously lying about being disowned and banished from his village. For all we care, he could be lying about being married as well. You cannot trust the guy now because he is obviously lying. He cannot trust you either because you went ahead to get pregnant for him without his consent. So, though it is irresponsible for a guy not to care for his baby, it's also naive that you expect him to accept responsibility for a decision he never made. Take care of the baby. Try your best to keep in touch with the father. I have a feeling he will accept the baby eventually. Then you can start thinking of contacting his family etc. But if you go ahead now to contact his family, it's like you are trying to get back to him and report him to them etc. There are better ways of going about it. Last Word - you are as much to blame and as he is. It's not fair for everyone to see him as the only guilty party here. We just need to be sincere about this. Best of luck. |
Websites of Nigerian Stockbrokers - http://www.karakataonline.com/stockbrokers.html Websites with good information about nigerian stock market - http://www.karakataonline.com/investing.html I personally never buy IPOs for the following reasons: At the end of the IPO, the price starts to rise steeply. However you wont be able to gain from this. Because it takes months before you will receive the share certificate, and even more months before you immobilise it at the CSCS. Therefore automatically your money is tied down for at least 3 months to 6 months. If you are a long term investor who is confident of dividends at the end of the year, no problem. But if you are someone who would like to gain from price appreciation in the short term or you would want to quickly opt out if the stock performs miserably, then wait till after the IPO and buy it on the floors of the stock exchange through your stockbroker. That's my little advice. Good luck everyone. |
Personally, I think the song and video are just ok. It reminds me of Muma Gee's song/video. The song and video are too exaggerated and that puts me off. I'll go for Lagbaja's Never Far Away song/video anyday. This is my opinion as a positive critic. |
yeah, i'd like modenine and eLDee. reincarnation of the plantashun boys (in the works). same as this topic - https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-15590.0.html |
Rhythm 93.7 for their presenters - i mean Wild Child cant go wrong. But they concentrate on only new music good or bad. 96.9 Cool - I cant stand their presenters. But I love their music cos they play great music good or old. For me it's a tie. But I'll go for Rhythm cos these cool fm lovers are making too much noise! We are talking about presenters. What about the DJs? |
El, Del, Been listening to the album online. When does the album land in Nigeria and where can I get it? Is there going to be a Naija album launch? I understand you guys are in partnership with Storm Records. Holla. |
