It wouldn't be so contentious if preachers would stop preaching that we are robbing God and cursed if we fail to tithe our money.

For the preacher who is benefiting from the teaching of the monetary tithe, the less cookies in the cookie jar, the more belligerent he becomes with his deceitful doctrine.
ouch! i think that is extreme. then again, na naija, and I have seen pastors try to guilt people in to doing things angry. na wa o. As far as I know, tithing is an opportunity not an obligation. To each his own I guess.
HealthRe: Ebo-lie? Shock Claim From Ghanaian Nurse by birdman(m): 4:24am On Oct 25, 2014
unfortunately for nurse kwame, not one shred of proof. Hear me out people, i can find evidence to support anything I want just by googling long enough. First, people said Ebola wasn't real. Now they are saying its redcross injections. What killed Dr Adadevoh and several of her staff? What ailed the nurses that did recover? Did they get these "redcross injections" too? Don't forget that there were american doctors in Lagos at the height of the ebola scare and they were instrumental in training and keeping order.

Finally, a few facts the Nurse Kwame did not mention. Did you know that the outbreak actually started in Guinea? Why then does Liberia have so many cases and no one else has so many? Because lots of people in Liberia initially had Nurse Kwame's way of thinking. Ebola was a hoax, and they went around freeing clearly sick folk, even stealing mattresses used by ebola patients! This is why it has become unstoppable in Liberia. Not because of some secret govt program. Just plain, good old ignorance, laziness mixed in with a few conspiracy stories.

The holy grail for Africa and other third world countries is a bipolar or multi-polar world.

Just pray for BRICS led by China and Russia, to counter the Anglo-American and Zionist domination, and create a balance.

Also, Africa countries need to start preparing for that inevitable paradigm shift. Just be prepared and take advantage once the opportunity presents itself.
If we do this, we will be courting final disaster. Any plan that involves piggybacking on Chinese or Russians will fail. You may think we will be able to negotiate between competing powers, but you need to look back at history. More than likely, we will be divided up instead, and then they will continue their fight. Just like the major European powers did several hundred years back.

We need to assume that our salvation is squarely in our hands, the chinese are not coming, neither are the other BRICs. To start with, enough of all this southern this, christian that nonsense. Come 2015, incompetence must be voted out. We need a strong, cerebral leader. Shikena!
PoliticsRe: Latest Oil Price: $44 per Barrel - Crisis Looming by birdman(m): 3:58am On Oct 25, 2014
red101:
GenBuhari, an oil crisis IS looming but you need to lay off on your conspiracy theories against the USA.
The real reason is that after 9/11 and the iraq war etc, the USA decided that it needs to reduce its dependence on foreign oil esp middle east so the USA developed technology to drill oil from its own soil. This process is known as fracking and the oil is called shale. They are even investing in green energy (solar etc) and doing whatever it takes to reduce the dependence. USA also has a ton of its own oil reserve and like you said, it is now #2 in oil production. Right now, there is a surplus of oil in the global market because countries like Nigeria, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia etc are SO ECONOMICALLY DEPENDENT ON EXPORTING OIL that they refuse to decrease their oil production/supply to match the reduced global demand hence why the price is tumbling. it's all about supply and demand if you study economics.

there is no conspiracy in this. unless you don't know how to take your destiny in your own hands and always want to blame any and everyone for your situation. Of course, if Nigeria keeps producing oil that nobody wants, it will be forced to reduce the price. when you go to yaba market and see tons of shirts on the floor, won't you bargain the price down? does that mean that you are a evil conspirator trying to create a crisis and destroy the merchant's business? abeg.

Nigeria needs to wisen up and diversify its economy. The era of crude oil is over. Shale oil is what's in now and even OPEC will probably be dismantling soon.
Agreed except on the last part. The cost of oil extraction will always be an issue, so long term crude will win, because it is much cheaper to extract and in our case, our sweet crude needs little refinement.

As fas as strategy, short term, the excess production by the US is being used as an alternative to jumpstart the economy. It is great that it is also giving Russia fits, but it is not the primary reason. $50/barrel will not get rid of Putin. The only problem is that if the oil slump gets bad enough, jobs will start to go, which will have the opposite effect on the economy.

I have seen all kinds of smart people making charts etc, but the truth is no one really knows how this is going to end. We are living in a virtual, financially engineered system and no one has played this game before.

We should not be happy to shame Ghana while it's down. Sometimes I wish nigerians can come about pettiness. When Europe collapsed after WWII the US went in a personally fixed the place, because without Europe the US is alone and has nobody. It's also open to the influence of unfriendly rivals.

We as Nigerians don't know a better ally and closer country culturally, historically and politically then Ghana. To be making threads accusing them of 'begging' and insulting/shaming them is really foolish because when we're down we'll have nobody.

This Boko Haram situation really opened my eyes. Nigeria has no living allied nations. We're completely alone and when something happens to us, which it will from how the west is behaving, we're going to deal with it alone. Instead of making sure our potential allies like Ghana are strong and able to be a crutch if need be, we're bloviating that they're poor. Is it by force that we as blacks behave stupidly?
I had to re-read this. After all those tribal marathons, I am glad your eyes are open o. The more people realize we are on our own, hopefully the less we see of the ethnic craziness.

Speaking of Ghana, this situation is no laughing matter. I wonder if their discovery of oil attracted the vultures. When a president publicly begs a bank for funds, you know that that country is fundamentally done. I have always respected my Ghanian brothers as being cerebral and moderate. I cant even fathom how they got themselves into this trap. This is going to cost them for a long time

I bet you right now, there are people buying ghanian real estate for cheap. When Ghana gets this loan and the economy "recovers" they will discover they dont own much in their own country. And they wont be able to do much, because the political leaders will have been settled. Perhaps our ghanian brothers need to eat humble pie, and allow Nigerians free hand to open industries in the country. I think the end result is much better imo. AT the end of the day, we are not that different.

Children and dogs cannot be trusted with each other. So if your dogs are outside your children should stay inside if there's no adult around.
Sometimes its your neigbors dogs versus your children. In that case, children get to play outside as they want because children>>>dogs. If your dog is violent, it should stay on a leash if you cannot personally supervise it. Forgive my rant yall, I just had go the opposite way as some *pet owner* lost control of this huge dog while walking towards me. I didnt even know dogs could be that big. It literally was about the size of a motorbike, and almost as tall, barking like crazy. If you get mauled by such an animal, no amount of insurance can compensate you. Haba, na by force to carry dog undecided Dog owners need to be more considerate of others. I think its a privilege that ought to be taxed and heavily regulated.

Same could be said of other characters of the early 60s era. They were surprisingly candid and direct about ethnic differences. I once saw a 1964 interview of the late Sardauna of Sokoto (Ahmadu Bello), and he made it very clear that he was for northern interests above all else. There was no attempt by him to even create an impression of national unity. Politicians today are a lot more circumspect, or should I say 'politically correct', and always project the concept of national oneness above ethnic differences. I guess you can say we've learnt the lessons from our tumultuous history.
it was another era for sure. i definitely dont see any politician today getting anywhere with that kind of talk

PoliticsRe: Latest Oil Price: $44 per Barrel - Crisis Looming by birdman(m): 4:29am On Oct 12, 2014
GenBuhari:
My belief is that there is no such virus as Ebola.

Please consider these facts:

Ebola was discovered by a white man in Africa in 1976

in 37 years up until this year a total of 2,500 people have died worldwide (all in Africa)

Influenza which is airborne and has a vaccine is currently responsible for up to 500,000 deaths worldwide per year

Rabies is 100% deadly - which means everybody infected dies rabies has a vaccine yet up to 100,000 die from it each year

But upto 2014, only 2,500 deaths from Ebola since 1976 that is an average of 67 Ebola deaths per year over a 37 year period.

So how deadly is this so called Ebola? clearly not very deadly more people have died from lightening strike in the same 37 year period than have died from the so-called Ebola.

How contagious do they claim the so called Ebola is?
Unlike influenza, Ebola is not airborne,it is only transmitted via bodily fluid so it is only as contagious as hepatitis, which can be easily avoided by avoiding contact with bodily fluids.

So to recap:

Ebola according to the hoaxers themselves kills less people only average of 67 people per year over last 40years, Influenza has killed upto half a million yearly.

Ebola according to the hoaxers themselves is not more contagious than Hepatitis, Influenza is airborne far more contagious

Ebola is survivable in up to 60% of cases, and 100% survivabilty for white Americans- unlilke Rabies that has 0% survivability.

Now we should ask ourselves why no panic and media hysteria over Influenza and Rabies which between them is killing nearly a million people worldwide each year.

You should quickly come to the conclusion that Ebola hysteria is political and not medical and all indications suggest that it does not exist but is merely psychological terrorism, for the purposes of America achieving whatever objective it wishes to use this terrorism for.

My belief is that this time around it wishes to use Ebola to justify using America's IMF and World Bank loans to take over the valuable natural resources of selected countries in West Africa.

The most telling evidence is that even the people of Liberia and Sierra Leone are saying it is a hoax, surely they would know if Ebola is real right, they would see it in their communities , yet it seems mainly medical staff are dying off so easily from a disease no more contagious than hepatitis even though they seem to wear protective clothing from head to foot
ignorance is a disease. Hopefully your namesake has more common sense than you. Liberia is full of idiots who think like this, which is why they are dying en masse from a disease that is very easily isolated.

Yet a Benin (the country) man in Nigeria will categorically tell you that Nigerians are lazy. your points have nothing to do with the topic at hand.

On paper, Zik has everything to be an engaging, exciting, brilliant president. But if you ever get the chance, google up articles from the west african pilot (zik's newspaper). Some of the things he had to say about Yorubas shocked...no one would say such things out in the open today. No one in the West had any illusion that Zik was a gentleman statesman. Ojukwu didnt trust him either (yuou can google his exact words). If Zik is the least celebrated of the founding fathers today, his character has a lot to do with it.

Its funny you compare him with GEJ, because they actually both have similar traits. On the surface, you think you are getting a well seasoned president. Behind the smiling veneer is a mean calculating machine.

Id post them myself, but man, time flies these days. Still im subscribed...maybe someone will post something I havent seen before
