Gowon was worse than Idi Amin? and Saddam? Lol. Another reminder of why I skip most news outlets. These dass, they are nothing more than profit making shells for entertainment. |
Bobbieydeey:he misspoke i think. Rose needs to just play ball and stop worrying about stuff. he is on my fantasy team again this year...he better step up ![]() |
shdemidemi:gotcha...I agree 100% "divine logistics" ![]() |

shdemidemi:so...did Jesus die so you can have a bad marriage? ![]() |

Gbawe:In other words, we deserve GEJ |
WinsomeX:Speaking of outlandish things, Christians believe that a man died and rose three days later, then ascended to heaven. This is more outlandish than anything Joabaje could dream up. So the fact that wof folks, or whatever you want to call tehm believe "outlandish" things does not make them wrong. That is the true nature of the gospel. My point? If its in the bible, you have two choices as a believer. Either the bible is true, or its not. Has Joagbaje abused the trust of many by using the bible? Yes. But the verses he based his deceit on are in the bible. So, orthodox or WOF, you still are not absolved. If Jesus healed freely, without reservation, why has it stopped today? If it is not true now, why would it be true back then? I commend SirJohn for a job well done. I had a few run-ins with Joabaje in the past, but I chalked it up to zealotry. I would never have guessed he was a pastor, or that he could pull this off. Wether or not you knew of this scheme or were pulled into it by virtue of your zealotry, Joabgaje, you are not beyond repentance. Make things right with your creator before you worry about nairaland. |
Bobbieydeey:not reallly. just a hammy...i will be very surprised if he sits out the next game |
the bulls are looking good already. I hope Thibodeau doesnt wear them out before playoffs like he usually does. Its Good to see Gasol back to his normal self...I suspect Kobe has a new found appreciation for this guy's sacrifice |
Surely001:looks of regret ![]() |
tpia6:Seriously, I dont know. Some people have said its something myles munroe did, but I know full well God isnt sending his messengers and their familes to their deaths. Frankly, no one knows. And I think its irrelevant as far as Munroe and his creator are concerned. I do know of cases where God has warned people not to board flights, or not show up to work. For example the church in the 9/11 towers did not lose a single member, even though they all worked in those buildings. Guys that were never late for work were late that morning, etc... Funny enough the pastor had been preaching on a series about hearing God's voice. If there is anything I take away from this tragedy, its to pay closer attention. If nothing else, humility prevents me from pointing fingers anywhere. Best to take care of my own business. |
tpia6:Hmmm. This reminds me of another preacher who was in a similar situation. He had a personal jet, and since he was trained as a pilot, often flew his own jet. One time he was transporting members of his ministry, and decided to do a weight check on the airplane, just to be sure. All planes have a weight limit, which must be balanced otherwise you can lose control of the plane in flight. During his check, he discovered, to his anger, that one of his team members had overpacked, against his instructions, causing the plane to be overloaded and likely to fail in the air! One team member's carelessness was about to take the whole ministry out. His point was simply that even a preacher in tune with God could very well be brought down by those around him, especially if that preacher is distracted and ignores God's promptings that something is awry. |
CityNG:22 ke? how did you pull it off? ![]() |
SirShymex:You could argue the same for men. Truth is bad news or salacious news sells more, hence the kinds of characters you see achieving fame via news media. I cant count the number of real estate investors or accomplished engineers loaded with patents that are black women. Granted Im speaking from a yankee point of view, but you get the point. I can also assure you that many of the females arguing left and right on this thread will have mellowed in the next 5-10 years as they start to understand the wisdom of "less equal women" that went before them. |
SirShymex:its your fault if you cant think of any. you need to broaden your horizon some more . But I agree with some of your main points though. Embracing an euro-centric view of equality has cost a lot of fine, accomplished black women big time. Being headstrong and self centered appears glamorous on tv and magazines. In real life, its a setup for wasted potential. And unfortunately, in real life, there is no do over . I wonder how it came to be that men equate strong women with disrespectful women. Or that women think that in order to be strong, you must be cantankerous and headstrong. I suspect both black men and women have imbibed more european values than we care to admit. |
Ferdinandu:lmao. una wicked for nairaland ![]() Funny thread, but it has a some truth in it. See times of india article about the APEC summit http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/china/Obama-and-Putin-are-odd-couple-at-Apec-summit/articleshow/45107954.cms? Basically Putin trying to make small talk to keep things less akward, and Obama not really into it |
Roland17:I know... I just had to add some sauce to the already obvious ![]() In other news, I have to doff my hat to Kobe. Dude is battling father time every minute on the court..I wonder what the lakers do if they realize they cant make the playoffs for the next 2 seasons. Tank and trade Kobe? |
Myles Munroe preaching on what I think was his favorite topic: The Kingdom . I cant think of a better tribute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXDiqZ0C2vo&list=PL1224E12DE26A3A3E |
Weah96:The bible says it will, so it will. It doesnt matter wether you think it is ridiculous or not. He was a child of God, so "all things", including this will turn out for his good. Doesn't meant God did it, or condoned it, but it will work out well for him. Munroe on the kingdom. This was good when it aired. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sXDiqZ0C2vo&list=PL1224E12DE26A3A3E |
Roland17:fools gold brother. its just november...no one is really balling yet. |
RIP to a this great general. I am not sure I am even qualified to explain this tragedy. I do know that it will work out for his good. Whatever the case may be, he went out fulfilling his calling. I hope I reach that age and actualize my potential to the extent that Dr. Munroe did. Adieu Dr, take your place in the stands and watch the church here on earth. |

2prexios:o mean e ? subscribing. based on the fact that this is still on page one, i think a lot of the cultural heavyweights are now off nairaland |
GenBuhari:A good point. If this is indeed the case, wahala dey especially for Nigeria. I have no doubt money is already being siphoned by PDP for the next election. This is going to make them even more desperate. |
Wallie:interesting take. i dont think that saudi strategy will work though. Cant remember where I read it, but US oil production via fracking is subsidized by the FG. The producers claim they can go as low as $30 and still be profitable |
anonymous6:You dont know that for sure. He may very well be sending his earnings home to keep his family afloat, which means an equally valid viewpoint. Some people definitely can afford it, but he is right...this is not the reality on the ground for most folk. If you think having shiny malls and people willing to spend equals some kind of progress, I urge you to reconsider. I think people are taking his viewpoint personal, when there is no need to. |
interesting if true. this looks more like what a man/bachelor (me) would design. It feels more like a rich bachelor pad than a home. Still, very well done. |
some people have already lost money. hedge funds that thought the bottom was at 85 are getting smacked. The true bottom is probably going to be about 75, because at that point fracking becomes unprofitable, leading to decreased supply. Btw, the US does NOT control oil prices. People have tried to without success. No country knows exactly how this is going to end, much less control it. There are way too many players on the world scene, all trying to save themselves and canceling each other out. |
“We will have to look very hard at recurrent expenditure, and identify overlapping agencies. When the price is heading down everyone sees the necessity but that doesn’t stop them hating you.you are just now looking at other options? wao! see incompetence. |
Roland17:I am worried that in trying to recover, he may have overtrained, and we could very well see a stress related injury mid season. Same goes for Kobe. Bulls do have a deep team this year, but Thiboudeau is known for having a short rotation and overworking them. |
