Roland17:Welcome to the learned hopelessness 170 million people deal with on a daily basis. |
steady986:WB na stat padder, those triple dubs never translate into playoff runs. But lets leave the matter make e no turn to fight. lets see as the season will be. hopefully you are right. |
steady986:Thats the point my guy. What use is a PG that shoots more than he distributes, if he is shoots 43%, 35% from the 3. If you are the pg distribute. If that is not your strong suit, shoot lights out. Its the worst of both worlds if you cant do either. Just playing hard will not beat Bucks or Nets. I want to see who else they bring on to fill the roster. Everyone is rightly concerned about getting shooters. But they also need to beef uo the defense, especially rim protection. Is derozan still a possibility? That would be a killer starting 4 |
mattfeuter:yeah, he does disappear for stretches. In any case, if the Lakers dont get to the finals this year, I see a coaching change coming up as well. Once big names arrive on the roster, the coach is immediately on the clock. |
steady986:I worded it wrong. KCP is a better fit for this team than Russ. Way better fit. You need complementary pieces, not a ball dominant guard with a low FG%. KCP is a spot up sharp shooter. Exactly what you need with AD and Lebron on the floor. If I was going after guards, I would look for a Conley or a Lowry. even a Lonzo Ball. |
Which team did the best this draft ? I give Houston an A. Picking up a legit big man with a post game by trading future picks to Thunder was a rock solid move. Alperen Sengun flew under the radar because he is in the turkish league, but his skills should translate to the NBA. The game does not favor traditional bigs anymore, but Houston likes to stack talent. Even if it doesnt work out, he will make for a valuable trade. Moery may have left the Rockets, but the brain trust behind our trades appears to have stayed intact |
benji93:Leave am. Can Westbrook help a team without being ball dominant? I didnt watch him much on the Wizards, but this is his perennial weakness. |
steady986:Sand don enter d garri already. Soak am well, maybe e go soft small. Eat up chief, yum yum ![]() |
steady986:Superstars with no bench equals no ring. I would take KCP over Westbrook any day. And AD will have his regular injury bug, which will leave the team depleted for stretches. Add to that, Lebron will not be carrying team load in his 18th year, unless he wants to be injured for good. The team as constructed could have won a ring this year, they just needed to stay healthy. Well sha, lets see if Lebron can work his magic and make Westbrook fit |
steady986:You excited? You should be fasting!! Westbrick about to tear Lakers a new one . They cleared a strong bench to get him. Unless they fill the bench out during the season, this will not work |
Shittaakeem:I am not sold on Cunningham, and I hope we dont even get the chance to pick him. I hope we pick Jalen Green. This guy is special. Rockets havent attempted a build from scratch in decades, and this is exciting. The closest we came to a rebuild was Steve Francis, who btw was also a second draft pick to the Vancouver Grizzlies. We should have know he would be a coconut head when he refused to play in Vancouver and we traded for him .We got another shot at rebuilding with Yao Ming, but we screwed that up royally. We really didnt rebuild, just tried to patch up a dysfunctional team. Steve/Yao combo was a sad sight. So much potential, yet nothing. I havent seen this much buzz among Rockets fans since we dumped Steve and got Tmac to join Yao. I really want to see what Silas can do with Christian Wood and Jalen Green. I hope we dont become the Celtics of the west though, full of young talent going nowhere. Apologies to Roland17 ![]() |
joshboo: gotta keep the ratings up |
Simmons for Lowry, Van Vleet, Anunoby and first round pick? Ah, are you mad? na craze, abi na village tinz. The person who even suggested this is very unfortunate. Oh wait, its Morey you think everyone else is a yam head? |
joshboo:Mostly GM Moreys fault. Harden should never have been coddled that way. We had PJ Tucker who played pivotal role in Bucks championship. We had CP3 who also got to the finals. We had Capella who is solid on that Hawks team vs Embiid. And we never even got to WCF because every year this guy would ball hog us out of the playoffs. Every year! This is how I know he and Giannis will never see eye to eye. They just see the world different. |
Roland17:I hear players are trying to revolt and play a flashier style of bball. Supposedly pops is making them play boring bball. Im not sure this is a good idea. I think american bball is fundamentally wired to promote individual stars because it brings in big bucks. And if you look at every solution proposed so far by analysts, I dont see team work mentioned. People keep emphasizing durant and Lillard like magical talismans. This will not work. Still early days, but there is legit concern. The only way team usa wins gold is for everyone to do the dirty work relegated to Draymond. |
Roland17:Wait, who took hijacked this mans account. Roland is usually not this agreeable. Abi na Sunday I should report this ![]() |
Roland17:Who in this life no get challenge? Are his demons more than Artest own? Everone got to grow up tho, or you get called out. You cant be one of the OGs on the squad and be whining like that, leadership is not just during the game. Guys going to war with you need to know what you are about. Someone even older needs to sit this guy down make e understand. Its not just about shooting the rock. |
Roland17: just one game. Plenty of time to right the ship. This is why as team captain it is good to be gracious. You can be strict, firm but still gracious. Otherwise how do you rally folks |
Anyone see the twitter beef between Durant and Adebayo? I hope they get it together before tomorrows game vs France. If they lose, SAS and co will come for their head on this. Durant needs to grow up. For real. Small issue on court e go dey tweet |
joshboo:Dikembe Mutombo Lifetime NBA earnings: $140 million After Tax Estimate: $70 million Major philantropy: Donated $15 million to build hospital in Congo That is just one project. There are many others, obviously you cant do this with salary money. You need a long term game plan. Some other interesting ones to lookup - Tmac (outstanding work in Darfur) - Olajuwon (cautionary tale, almost gave to al qaeda charities without knowing, managing money is hard!) - Lebron For anyone interested, you can see the type of federal taxes Lebron, Mayweather, Tiger Woods pay here: https://www.propublica.org/article/the-billionaire-playbook-how-sports-owners-use-their-teams-to-avoid-millions-in-taxes That is federal o, we have not counted state taxes. Its hard getting wealthy. Its even harder staying wealthy. Even harder still if you plan on philantropy. I would go further, but this is not the forum for such. Guys, everything is not about hating or liking players. |
A40:Thank God you no be financial advisor . Someone that will be retired at 35 and have to make that money work for the rest of his life. Next thing na espn 30 on 30, stories that touch |
joshboo:Im hearing he feels like he is being left out. It wouldnt surprise me if he demands a trade. |
A40:After taxes, that is half. Less than half after all the hidden state and municipal fees. If its just you and your family you are looking out for, it will go some ways. If you are planning on doing Mutomob type things like building hospitals, or Lebron type things like sponsoring a whole class through college, or trying to bring some projects to your hood in Milwaukee, yeah its not enough. Based on what I have heard Giannis say, he has a heart to help, having gone through deprivation himself. He gon need funds for that. Life is meant to be lived cooperating with others and helping others. Everything is not just you and your fam. No one black or otherwise is going to fulfil their life mission going it alone. Periodt. Just off point, this "I no send them" strong head wey people dey carry come from naija, that is how some folks go spend 30 years for yankee, no real progress, other than paying bills and buying aso oke. No viable business, no next generation wealth. Instead to humble and learn from people wey don reach there before you. By the time they wise up, they too old to take advantage in a meaningful way. |
steady986:Probably. BUT I didnt like when he said that. The press will help make that this big, negative argument that overshadows the win. After career is over, nba cats are going to be your number 1 support structure. Dont sh** where you eat. Contract money will only get you so far. At some point you will need older players who are successful in business and non profits. Lebron, magic, shaq etc Im sure he will learn this sooner or later. Dont make enemies just for sound bite sake |
chic2pimp:Years ago Jay compared Giannis to Durant on tv. Durant runs into Jay at a party and warns him to never make that comparison again. Fast forward to 2021, Jay told this story on espn when the nets were up 2-0 against the bucks. when bucks finally beat nets, the chill was there.all the players congratulated each other.Giannis and Durant jus dey walk past each other |
joshboo:nah bro, the opposite. Check out Jay Williams 411 on what Durant said to him about Giannis |
steady986:No mention of Giannis. Its subtle disrespect. As bald headed as Durant is, he will never grow up. Always petty |
I hope Booker gets humble and develops a better attitude to teamates. CP3, point general, back to state farm commercials lol. I think age caught up with him. He has never played this deep into the playoffs. |
joshboo:Just like Olajuwon used to |
steady986:No iso ball tonight. that is what makes the 50pts crazy. 5 blocks on top, running like a deer all game |
Roland17:Like Cheshire cat ![]() |
See as owner dey pat Bud for back. Person wey dem wan fire before inside life |
