Funny how JVG always arguing for the big guys. As small as he is ![]() |
A40:Lol, I said the same thing. Bucks are definitely the better team |
benji93:troublemaker ![]() |
A40:That is exactly my point. You would rather supporting cast be cold in the beginning, and warm up. Than stay cold and not be able to help at the end of the game. You are not going to beat the Suns in 4 out of 7 games without this formula A40:Again, that is my point. If you look at the stats, it looks like he did well. But he cost the team several possesions where he tried to be a superhero. Ruined several plays where no one got touches. At one point he told even CP3 to clear out. And he missed on that possession. Again, stop the stat watching, and see the flow of the game. You get everyone hot, and the superstar can take over anytime while the supporting cast stays hot. Giannis made this mistake in game 2. Booker in Game 4. |
steady986:Middleton is a jump shooter. He needs the volume. Superstars that share the ball get everyone else going first, then get theirs. All those 50-50 loose balls that they beat the Suns to, it feeds off of being involved in the plays. the 2 games the bucks have won, it has been getting everyone involved, so where is the failure? |
Seun:To me, this is the real reason for a loose federation. So that everyone can reap what they sow. As it is, states that emphasize child education are subsidizing states that are ok with children skipping school and begging to subsist. Let everyone carry their governing style to its logical conclusion. The bandits and kidnappers plaguing the north are a direct result of policies they implemented. |
steady986:I think its the opposite. If the shots are there, take them. If not, let Jrue and Middleton carry the load. They gave Middleton those looks, and he knocked them down. Fantastic job by Giannis recognizing this, and still playing excellent defense. On the other hand, Suns deferred to Booker too much, and he tried to carry the team. No one else on the team really got going. Thats the thing with superstar plays. If you rely on it too much, you have likely open teammates that are just standing there. Your stats will look good, everyone else's stat will look bad. This is what happened to Bucks in game 2, and everyone was praising Giannis and blaming the other 2. Now its the suns with Booker dropping 40 and everyone else looking bad. |
Bucks wanted this more. Got all the 50-50 balls. Booker needs an attitude adjustment, for real |
mattfeuter:goat tinz. Game 4 was pivotal in preventing the series becoming 2-2. Lets see if the Suns can do the same tonite |
Maestro21:I havent seen any of the forerunners name call. I heard Okotie say some uncharitable things, but I dont consider him an exemplar. I cant find anywhere where Adeboye or Okonkwo or Oyedepo, the accused principals have disparaged the man. As for criticism, if you are a leader, it is warranted, as long as it is respectful. If there is any bad belle, it is constantly from folks who keep attacking these guys - they are human, and cannot be everything everybody wants. Personally, I wouldnt roll with SCOAN, because the miracles he would do those early days smell funny to me. I could very well be wrong, but I'm not taking the chance. Im not his savior, so I mind my business. But I wouldnt recommend something I avoid to other people. I would expect church leaders to do the same for their flock. I dont see any bad belle in this. |
Roland17:100%. The FIBA rules do not have a 3s time limit for a big man camping in the restricted area. It also allows a player to tap the ball or swat it away once it touches the rim, unlike NBA where that ball must leave the rim cylinder before you touch it. Right off the bat, these two rules means that small ball will not be nearly as effective. You need a traditional PG who can facilitate athletic bigs, rather than looking for your own shot. Plus that cylinder rule takes a split second edge off NBA players who are used to letting the ball come off the rim before rebounding. Lastly, there are no superstar calls. This is something so-called bball analysts like SAS are unable to come to terms with. They cant see past individualistic star-driven game because that is what brings in the money. But FIBA rules give the edge to a well coached and balanced team over the crazy schemes we see in the NBA where the point guard is regularly dropping 45 of a team's 100 points |
Roland17:Wait until they succeed and become famous, then you will see the incompetents that want to fill their bellies come out of the woodwork. Case in point, after that 96 olympics win, super eagles have never gotten all their ducks in a row, from coach to players to administrator. Whoever is the basketball federation chairman right now needs to learn to play politics, if he is not already. |
petra1:If what you say in the bolded is true, then it is prudent for such elders to be cautious about associating with what they do not understand, no? |
where is that f*0l called SAS that was disrespecting Nigerian players names. |
PDPGuy:I translated this to yoruba in my head ![]() |
steady986:Which espn. I no see anything for hia |
A40:Yeah, you cant trade Giannis points in the paint with Booker jumpshots. Bucks will have the edge. Someone needs to help Crowder out, forget all the gra gra Crowder is not that good on defense. I will gladly trade Giannis in the paint for jumpshots from middleton or jrue all day if possible. Giannis has upped his mental game though, so he is not going to quit easy |
Khanben:The parents look taller than average, maybe 6ft+? |
post=103617349:Born in 1998. ok ![]() |
Khanben:beatdown where? Its a 1 game analysis. why it got to be like all or nothing - you either praise a player all day or hate all day. I can be a giannis fan and still say he didnt get his team mates going in game 2. and I feel vindicated because starting game 3, you can see the coaching decisions to draw plays involving middleton. not just throw the ball to him when there is trouble. But this game 3 is fools gold. every team will have that one game where their shot is falling easy and the opposing team struggles early. Lets see how game 4 will look if Booker is stroking it early |
A40:Let me not lie, this was my thinking as well. I dont want to inflict the Nigerian factor on anyone, ever. Someone will just wake up one morning and make wipe all your life's work out, just so you can come and beg. |
steady986:Batwoman ![]() Cant find any stats to back me up, but Jrue and Middleton took a lot in the first quarter, and at the end in the 4th. I dont think the raw stats tell the full story. Like all the times Jrue would get into the paint and kick out to the 3pt line, vs taking the shot himself |
Roland17:All rounder! I pray her parents can handle the exposure she is getting |
steady986:Shaq addressed this in coded language the other night. He called Jrue a professional, that will do exactly what he is asked to do. And that is what kenny smith meant when he said, as a role player, you have to be stubborn enough to still take your own shots on some nights. Those 42 points from Giannis were empty points. Jrue had been aggressive early on, but they were down by 9pts or so. While Jrue was running a play Giannis barked for the ball, and Jrue hesitated, killed the play and gave up the ball. From that point until mid 4th quarter, he just passed the ball, rather than take shots he was taking earlier. By the fourth Q, most Bucks were cold because there was no meaningful ball movement other than Giannis taking shots. Bucks consistently lost on 50/50 loose balls in the last 3 minutes. So Giannis had a great game at the expense of team chemistry. Like Shaq said, "professionals" wont say jack, just move on to the next game. Jrue and Middleton will let you pick which version you want per night. |
chic2pimp:Yeap. Suns had a good shooting day otherwise it would be 1-1. Series aint over |
steady986:They are playing really well. The shots are just falling for the Suns. 50% from 3 |
that cp3 sweet spot is gone, bucks came to play tonite! |
nairamaniac:Booker for sure. They would rather CP3 go off than Booker go off. If you try to stop him from getting to his sweet spot, he will punish you by helping his team score. So you live with that floater. Less poisonous than a 3pter, or 2 points in the paint and potential and-1 nairamaniac:Did suns or mavs ever reach the finals with Nash? Cant seem to remeber. Man he was deadly with the suns though. 18 assists per night. But CP3 is not a Nash - he is not that offensively gifted. I do not expect him to even average 25 pts a night - he is not a pure shooter. Or even a scorer. nairamaniac:IT is the only one that reminds me of CP3. Nash was a liability on defense. Hardaway was a baller, not a championship PG nairamaniac:no doubt. and I dont think there will be a replacement in the NBA |
nairamaniac:He is not the best player on the Suns - he can and will step in and carry the scoring load, but that is not what makes him special. He will knock down 3s if need be, ala Jason Kidd on the Nets, but you wont win a ring using him like that. His primary strength is to cancel the opposing team's coaching adjustments and allow his scorers to eat you raw. Havent you wondered how he is able to get to that same spot on the floor and shoot those deadly midrange floaters. Like half a dozen times each game, at least. Opponents will rather live with those than have him get his teamates going |
nairamaniac:Stern said he felt the Hornets were being robbed, that not enough was given in return for CP3. Which was ridiculous, considering they were getting Odom, Scola , KMart and Dragic, all rock solid starters. The real reason was probably more of payback because of the role CP3 played on behalf of players during the lockout. Till now, there are still refs who like to diminish CP3 when they officiate him, because he demands that respect in player-owner meetings. There is one black uncle tom referee in particular, cant remember his name. He makes sure to give CP3 at least one T every game he can ![]() |
nairamaniac:Theres a reason the nba refused to let him join kobe. He knows how to alter the game regardless of his tean. When Harden wasted that opportunity is when I really started hating Harden. To keep it 100, cp3 of 5 years ago would not play thru injury. But I guess he understands father time better now. |
chic2pimp:Who knows when he gets to the Finals again. I dont like it, but I understand |
