Kobe too got pissed when ESPN said he wasnt even a top 10 player. But they were proven right, time had caught up with him. |

And Boston is the worst place for him to showcase his talents imo - he will be playing a secondary role. He doesnt act like someone who can dig deep and come up a stellar season in a bad spot. Lets see though |

Khanben: Everybody he guarded worked for every point they scored and always looked gassed at the end of game. Add that to his passable rebounding averages, and ability to warrant a defender when he spaces the floor on the offensive end, overall hustle, and you will find few players who fit that skillset, who can guard 2 through 5 (and bigger 1s). Finally he freed Giannis from being the primary defender on the opposition best wing defender on most possessions. This allowed Giannis to focus on help defense, both strong and weak side, and Giannis is arguably one of the best if not the best at playing help defense. PJ Tucker is a player who is good based on fit, he is like Tayshaun prince with the Detroit pistons and Ariza with the Lakers (difference is he is a better rebounder and Prince and Ariza are slightly better scoring). This. He does the dirty work and lets the stars be stars. Dude can score 2 points all game, and he gon still defend like you owe his mama money. Like you said, his offense is mainly spot up 3s so I would say he is more like Shane Battier than Ariza or Prince. Hehe, I just looked him up, I didnt realize Battier never left the Heat. looks like he retired after the Lebron rings then joined the front office. Class act! |

ovoP: Grizzlies..? The heat are also tough along with philly and these teams can beat the nuggets Grizz play western conference style of bball, more fast paced attack than the East. But they also defend well and are well coached. East has always played at a slower pace with the exception of Nets that have new players, new coaches, new system. This generally gives the west the upper hand in todays NBA. Even Hawks with Trae dont push the ball like that |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 6:39pm On Aug 14, 2021 |
Khanben: As things stand it seems the teams in the east has at long last caught up with those in the west in terms of overall conference strength. It can even be argued, that depending on how the chips fall with Philly, the east might have 3 of the best 4 teams. Nuggets, Grizzlies or Jazz at full strength will flog any team in the east not named bucks or nets. Even bucks is debatable. After those 2, there is a steep dropoff in the east. I expect the suns to underachieve if injuries are not a factor this year because of how loaded the west is. |

Android17: He already said this story is cap. I wonder why people are parading it. You do not award figures just because the baby daddy earns XYZ amount of money or else Chris Brown would have been paying the same. There has to be an established history between the couple, and proof that the child will be improperly taken care of by the other partner should they not earn that much and we all know it is not true. Most of it is true. She did fake the love then divorce him. And he will be paying a substantial amount for a long time. Usually, there are older ballers that warn you so you dont make this kind of mistake, because this girl was already a known commodity. Next time, he will consult his elders in such matters You ask a grown man what he likes about a woman, and he says legs. Olofo Na internet jus dey let us catch up on how many men have lost livelihood or life on this matter. In the past people hide it |

SmooshCHN: No, they can't. Last I remember, Steph is more or less like Lillard, Klay and Draymond aren't superstars so. Our best Center is a guy in his sophomore. I think Klay comes into this season looking good, essentially getting 2 years of rest. It will be interesting to see if father time shows on Curry, but even more for Draymond. If nothing else, the brain trust of Curry, Klay and Draymond is still intact, so they will make noise come playoffs. But no one wants to be a lower seed and run into younger teams like Grizzlies. They will run anyone out of the building on any given sunday. This is going to be an interesting year! |

Newly crowned Olympic gold medalist Kevin Durant and Draymond Green fired back at the media on Saturday for a lack of support in Tokyo following a rough start, telling the critics: "You are an American, too. Act like it." I think they are right. Waaay too much whining, in the name of generating views and mentions. I feel it too this offseason - from the night the Bucks won, everyday trade is something to whine about, fueled by the media to generate views and likes. Only problem is the media commentators and athletes all getting paid, we aint. Abeg lets be calming down small, including myself. |

steady986: My own is that for ages, people on this thread (including you ) have called Westbrook all sorts of names. Some called him stat Padder (including you ) some called him unplayable in the playoffs, some called him a loser. Then LeBron gets him and BOOM, he's the second coming of Magic Johnson. So if he was all that, how is it possible for him to make a superteam?
Don't get me wrong, I've been a Westbrook supporter right from day one on this thread, go back and check my comments on Westbrook. And I believe he's a superstar in this league and thus makes the Lakers a superteam. But it's the lack of consistency that I'm tired of, exactly what LeBron is tired of that made him put out that tweet. true words! My disdain for WB's game is consistent, and of course I still see him as a negative even though he is a Laker. But the about turn of many on this thread, suddenly seeing WB as a big 3 equal to the Nets is amazing! The kind of acting that has been executed on this thread since WB became a laker, we need special acting oscar. For real. You pipu, fear God nau. Haba!!! |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:12pm On Aug 05, 2021 |
Khanben: I said they were not a Superteam when all they had was Lebron, AD, Westbrook, Gasol, Ariza, Howard, Wellington and Howard. With Melo and the three younger guys the squad is now more balanced and the talent drop-off in total is equivalent to a Superteam. PS: I still have the Nets winning it all though if they can stay healthy At least this is a honest take. But if this is your definition of a superteam, then the Nuggets are as well. And warriors. Btw Celtics with big 3 was a superteam, as well as Larry Birds Celtics. Yeap, showtime Lakers too. Kobe and Shaq, superteam. Bulls last 3 rings as well. I dont even need to mention warriors with Durant, Heat with the big 3. So while yall trying to downplay whichever player you hate, remember your favorite player won on a superteam. Unless they were on pistons or spurs or rockets or bucks championship teams. Yeah... |

A40: When I say Bronsexualism and dishonesty is 5 and 6 it's not an exaggeration. Imagine arguing that a team with Lebron, Westbrook and AD is not a superteam, only Bronsexuals will shamelessly propagate such claims. Only Bronsexuals will boldly claim a team with 5 First Ballot HOFers is not a Superteam
No one disputed Brooklyn and Warriors to be a Superteam so I don't know what part of you this lie is coming from. So a Carmelo that was averaging 13 pts per game off the bench and shot 40 from 3 is who you people are trying to portray like some bum because of his age. Even Malik Monk who was doing 11ppg and 40% from 3. You people have no scruples I dont know who these bronsexuals are, but boy, you LOVE typing their name. Yall should get a room. Kendrick Nunn and Wayne Ellington are the only impact pieces I see here. The rest are 36 year old journeymen, 1year rentals atbest, even Melo and Ariza. Anyone trying to say this is a stacked team is dishonest, and just wants to take shots at Lebron. Same cats have nothing to say about Nets or warriors. |

steady986: So apparently both Kawhi Leonard and Chris Paul have declined their player option and are becoming free agents. It's possible CP3 signs a 3 year deal with the Suns, but for Kawhi, try predicting what he does. But is it possible he goes to the Heat, and Dragic to the Clippers? Cos I'm hearing rumours of both Lowry and Derozan considering the Heat. They probably would want to join forces. Imagine Kawhi, Butler, Derozan and Lowry on one team. That's championship or bust The wind blowing says derozan ends up in LA. Or is it just LA media hyping things? If kawhi leaves, that would be evil. Clippers have moved mountains to please this guy. I cant see him on the Heat because they dont take kindly to load management excuses - Pat Riley no dey take nonsense. Either you can play, or get on the injured list. |
