The way Stephen A has moved from the Nets to the Warriors for the championship is really amazing. Almost shameful. What happened to your 6 foot 11 guy that can pull up from 40? grin
He always said if Klay comes back, he would switch.

I have been saying it since before season began that the Warriors are a bigger threat than anyone else in the West, including Suns. Folks though I was just trying to downplay Lakers and hype someone else. I have been proven correct. Meanwhile Westbrook remains an eternal bust, and Melo is even more useful than Westbrick.

I also rated the Grizzlies and Nuggets aahead of Lakers, for which A40 and his crew tried to crucify me. Again, we have 3 weeks of stats showing I was more right than wrong.

The Lakers DO NOT have a big 4. They have a big 2, one of whom is aging and the younger is too lazy to pick up the mantle. As I said before, the only hope they have of even competing is to play lockdown D. They have as assistant coach with that specialty, but we need to start seeing it in the PPG they hold teams to. I want to see them play a young Grizzlies team and hold them to under 100. Then I will know Lakers have a shot in the west.

Who else is following the Henry Ruggs case? I really need to understand what goes on in the minds of these young athletes and their propensity for self destructive behavior. That young woman didn't deserve to die in such a horiffic manner. I get at 22, young, rich and on top of the world but don't these niggas recognize what it took to get there and where they came from? Shouldn't that at least guide you to make relatively smarter choices? Man's was driving at 156 mph. Like nigga is you Max Verstappen? Are you trying to die? Even Max will not do that outside a race track

I've always been of the opinion that DUI offenders are not getting harsh enough sentences, because the drunk driver typically gets away while an innocent bystander pays with their lives. There needs to be stricter deterrents IMO you should know when you man a steering drunk there is a very strong chance you will spend quite a lot of time in jail. Accidents happen while sober how much more when you're drunk
This kind of senseless tragedy is very painful. What a waste of life!

On the question you asked: Money is an amplifier, in a scary way many of us will never experience. We all think if we were in his shoes we wouldnt do such. But go check the lives of lottery winners if you want a taste of how destructive it can get. A 22 year old fresh out of poverty with a milli in cash sitting in the bank is a disaster looking for where to happen. And with that kind of money, no one will tell you no or caution you for fear of losing out of cash award. When you have that kind of money, you dont need to do something really bad. Just do your usual and your money will amplify it for you.

On your solution to the problem: No matter how strict the sentencing gets, you cant stop this. Alcohol is a drug, just that its legal. and once it has impaired your judgement, you think less of the consequences. Most people are disciplined enough to know when to stop. But there is always that guy that cant stop. Just like how no matter how many bouncers and screeners you put in the club, there is always that guy that will fight. Alcohol has a subtle way of medicating pain, and you will never take away those type of DWIs.

When I see Lebron's crew and how they managed that wealth and fame at a young age, with no father figure we know of, Im always in awe. Someone has to teach you these things, its not automatic.

I hope Zion Williamson and his camp are watching Ja Morant?
Forget it, I dont think Zion even has that mentality to care. I am very curious tho. they guys who called him the next Lebron, what did they see in him to make that pronouncement?

And Ja is growing on me mehn. The way the guy has improved, you can tell this guy cares about the craft. I think that is the mystery about the draft. You can evaluate a players skills. But how do you evaluate a players mindset? To me, there was nothing on draft day that suggested Ja is more serious than Zion. Nothing.

Haba. Iro o da. All 3 have actually been balling and Kuzma in particular has been a machine on the boards. Someone like Kuzma this is the best spot for him where he can grow and his every mistake is not magnified. As for Trez he got in his feelings after the Clippers debacle and jumped from frying pan to fire. He's looking for the payday he missed out last season, would be shocked if he didn't ball
Im happy for Trez on the real. Wizards are looking for #2, #3 scoring options to complement Beal. No other star to share time with, so you should get 30+ minutes a night as a starter. Beal alone can score enough to keep Wiz in the game, so they have a chance to win on any given night. This kind of situation comes like once in an NBA lifetime. If played right, they can get into the playoffs, make some noise and get a huge contract off of this.

Of the 3, I suspect Trez is the most ready to take advantage.Kuzma tends to get lost as season progresses.

Interesting seeing Kuzma, Montrezl and KCP flourishing in Washington. I thought you guys said LeNomad made people better. Hmmm
None of those 3 has been doing well until this last game. I was especially surprised because KCP looked like the most ready to take it to the next level. Lets see a couple of more games first.

If all 4 (plus Beal) are scoring in double figures every night, the East has a new problem then. But I doubt it. Kuz is never focused enough. Trez cant drop 20 every night.

Lol. By 10 points, do you mean from 35 to 25, or from 25 to 15? Because na 25 him average last year o grin

I still think he can average 25 easily even with this rule chance. Especially now that Kyrie is absent.
15pts? you are wicked grin

Too many maga teams in the NBA. He will certainly get his money. What I want to see is just how much of an impact the rule change will make, will he evolve his scoring arsenal because he is quite average for a 3pt shooter and had always hinged on drawing fouls. Or will he just resign to playmaking because in Kyrie's absence I expected he will take more shots instead he is taking fewer shots. It makes no sense, maybe its a confidence thing
The NBA posted a series of tweets on the rule change before season started, and Harden was one of the examples they used on what the change meant. Which is why I stayed away from Harden in fantasy this year. I fully expected his scoring to drop by 10pts at least. Of course when my enemies picked him in round 1, I could not but laugh and thank my God grin

What? KD was the primary focus of the defence? All the time? I didn't know that. Remember scoring and being the primary focus of the opposition's defence are not necessarily the same. Saying Westbrook is not the same Caliber is not smart man. Is/Was he a superstar or not? Must every superstar be like Steph? Now it was all Westbrook's fault that KD couldn't win with him? You people are trying to erase the fact that KD could have won with Westbrook. And please this is rather embarrassing coming from you. Be honest. Kyrie played 3 games and half of game 4, and the Bucks where leading in game 4 by 1. Don't make it seem as if he played without Kyrie for all seven games. cheesy. Ofcourse you could argue Harden's injury, even though history tells us it won't have been different. grin, and we both know that. And hopefully you don't bring up the "a toe away from getting to the finals". Cos I could argue for some they were a rim away from winning. grin. And you are very quick with throwing around some of your words. He took up the scoring load. It sounds like he dwarfed Steph's scoring ability 2 times over. We have not seen KD without any other superstar, whether he can or cannot is speculation although reasonable given his level of talent. I suppose you were not thinking about KD when you mentioned the "we have to see you without a fellow superstar". cheesy. You were caught good.
papa benji, you just enter market dey shoot, I dont even think you know why you are shooting grin This is a comparison between Klay and Durant on the definition of generational player. So anything you have against Durant above, awhen applied to Klay, still makes Durant more of a generational talent than Klay. Continue to dey shoot o grin
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 8:14pm On Oct 27, 2021
steady986:
What do you mean by proven? KD had always played with at least one other superstar. Westbrook, Steph, Klay, Kyrie, Harden. So how is he different from Klay who has always played with Steph?
Westbrook is not the same caliber as Steph. Neither is Kyrie. Which is why in both cases, Durant was the primary focus of the defense. Even when playing with Steph, Durant was the primary focus. So at all 3 stages of his career, and in all 3 systems, KD has been the primary focus of the defense, and shot like no one was guarding him. That is the definition of generational talent. With no Kyrie and hobbled Harden, he took the champs to game 7. And he was one jump shot away from getting to the finals. What other proof do you need?

Monster games from Russ and AD tonight. And Russ shot over 50% from the field too. But this is why we brought him in; so we don't have to suffer anytime LeBron sits. With just AD tonight the Lakers would have lost this game easily. I hope this game is what sparks Russ' season to life.
I actually hate when Russ has games like this. Because it fuels his desire to chuck shots. We know he wont shoot 55FG% every night. Even with 33pts, his +/- was 1.

The real takeaway imo is that Lakers defense need to be able to hold teams like the Spurs to a 100pts or less in regulation. This team is too old to play hero ball 3 to 4 times a week. Defense is the only way out for this team.

So by this, you're inferring that KD is not a generational talent grin
KD is proven. Before and after Steph. He didnt get his accolades starting at the Warriors. And when KD played with Steph, he took the scoring load. So, we have plenty of evidence.

What similar evidence do you have for Klay? Any that does not have Steph on the team?

Una dey give this generational talent unnecessary definition sha. Generational talent is simply what it means - generational talent. Meaning talent that doesn't come by easily. It means talent that we don't see regularly. Generational talent doesn't mean someone that can lead a franchise, neither does it me number 1 option. There are countless number one options and franchise players that are not generational talents.
You dont have to be number 1 option. But we need to be able to evaluate you without the effects of a fellow superstar. If we cant do that, there is no point crowning anyone generational anything. You get the accolades for what you have done, not what we think you can do.

If you are saying Klayis generational, what is Beal? Do you know what Beal will do on a team with Steph? We dont have to conjecture, as we have seen Beal under al defensive conditions. That is my point.

I think Klay is being underrated and disrespected in this league. I don't want to dabble into this generational talent argument but boy! Klay is both an awesome shooter and a great defender. He has ticked all the boxes. The only question still remaining is if he can be a successful number 1.

And yes, only Klay can answer that.
Unfortunately, we havent seen the warriors being run by Klay, without Steph. It is one thing to be a great shooter. Its another thing to be able to get your shot when the defense is built to stop you. When Steph is on the court, the defensive pressure is never as great on Klay. There is nothing in Klays repertoire that suggests he can make those shots under defense geared to stop him at all cost. Furthermore, we have no evidence he can put his head down and slash to the rim like Durant, or dribble to the rim like Curry.

If anything I think there is a little bit of overrating of Klay. Remember the series vs Cavs where they came back down 1-3? If Klay was as deadly as people now say, you would not need to go get a Durant the next season to help equalize vs a Lebron led team.

At this point, we know Curry is legit generational talent. We are seeing him ball with all the defense geared to stop him. Unless Klay is put in that same situation for a season, any talk of him being generational is just conjecture.

anyone noticed KD's jumpshot is even better this year? In yesterday's game, I saw him several times pause while in the air, gauge the rim, and right before shooting he would arc his shot even higher. He is almost 7ft, which affords him the luxury of a brief pause while in the air, because no one can block that. I have to think this is something he worked on this offseason. It will be interesting to see what his shooting stats look like this year.

Remember what I told you during that argument? At some point, the owners are going to fight and they will fight dirty! I better not hear any rubbish from anyone about it when that time comes. They are already telling you their direction with how they are handling this Kyrie and Simmons situations. This is not just about seeking trades but the owners are intentionally balking and refusing to entertain trade offers just so he can learn a lesson.
Bro! This is what I was thinking, but am like, nah, they wouldnt go this low. They cant possibly fight this dirty. Especially with Simmons. Morey is a really savvy GM, and I couldnt understand why they didnt unload him this offseason. Unless Morey and the Sixers front office actually want to prove a point and punish him.

Just read that MPJ's max contract is not fully guaranteed. Just want to ask is D Ayton worth a max contract?
IMHO he is like Gorbert great in his role but not someone you give the max or like in the case of Gorbert the supermax. If Ayton can take the kind of deal Jaylen Brown took from the Celtics then that's cool. Even if he waits till next year I don't think the market will give him max money as RFA.
Ayton is definitely not worth max. Strangely, I think if they had missed being in the Finals last year and he did not get outclassed by Giannis, someone may have thought he deserved max. Last year's finals exposed him big time and dropped his stock.

This Simmons situation has gotten ugly. On one hand, I love Daryl Morey in the hot seat. On the other hand, I detest the lack of professionalism from Simmons.

I had this argument with Roland17 sometime ago on owners vs players. So far this offseason, he has been more right than me - Kyrie, former players defrauding NBA health insurance, and now Simmons. This is going to cost players at the next bargaining agreement.

So how can research be funded when they are strong lobby groups who will block any look into it every step of the way. Look at the state of cannabis research, it has been either totally blocked or so grossly underfunded, that for a plant which is ubiquitous in all cultures we still don't know as much about it as we should, because of the cigarette lobby.
Medical research and other scientific research are sadly dependent on money and policy allowances So IMHO the existing researchers are doing the best they can with the limited targets and areas they are allowed to research.
I didn't even know there was a cigarette lobby. But yeah, it is really sad the number of people with chronic pain addicted to legal opiods when they could have used cannabis.

Thanks for the list. But as an aside you do know in the USA the conservatives will kill any attempt to research some of these. For example I remember a school which introduced Yoga and meditation to students and saw great results with the students, but the religious cons went mental and claimed it was a religious ploy to convert their kids and killed it. Same thing will happen with traditional, Chinese, Reiko, Qigong etc.
I cant blame them. You should only engage in what you are comfortable with. The spirit-mind-body connection should not be taken lightly as you can get yourself in trouble without even knowing you are in trouble. I personally think you can incorporate the stretches without all the divine self stuff and get benefits.
