Sure I do understand your point. Am not trying to insinuate that it's easy in the Nigerian terrain but from his enquiry you will know that running a business in your own country is the best option compared to coming back with the hope for a job.

I do run a busy as well and in as much as its not that easy, I am more comfortable than when I was working in the UK. And just so you know, I never did all those washing plate jobs people are always fund of saying, I was strictly into telesales and marketing in corporate offices and examples of the places I worked were Kitchens Direct, BT Broadband, and New Approach Marketing (google certified company).

If you notice I am still into sales and marketing here in Naija and it's better off
OK Bro I feel you. God's blessings rest upon you daily

It depends on what he has in mind. Hey so many people are doing really fine in business in Nigeria
Yes Bro but you should draw closer to them and ask them believe me they are feeling the heat too ooo. Even billionaires dey feel am.

Perhaps if you have very big capital, you can manage to stay afloat but does the young man have 100 million saved to put in a business?

I know many big names who are just running their businesses so they don't get ridiculed that their business failed. I currently own and run a business worth some millions and Bro believe me...E NO EASY OOOO perhaps you'd see my lamentations on one of the threads I commented on some weeks back LOL

JejeNaija:
I have been to some countries including the UK and I can tell you that moving from Germany to UK is still as good as jumping from frying pan to fire because you will not notice any change about your life.
However moving to naija would have been the best bet if you are not thinking of finding a job but rather establishing Your Own well researched business idea.

The competition for jobs in Nigeria is now too high that Germany certificate would not be considered in some firms were people are tendering certificate from UK and USA. Aside this, we have lots of serious First Class and second class upper masters holders who had no opportunity to travel but did very well in Nigeria and still don't have decent jobs.
Why waste your time coming to Nigeria to compete with them, so naija is a no no except you take your time either in Germany or UK to do whatever job you can to safe enough money which can enable you come back to naija and become an employer instead of an employee.
What is the guarantee his business would flourish in Nigeria? Nigeria under buhari now is like a rat that eats her kids ooo

Running a business in Nigeria under this high multiple taxation environment with is crazy oo. Then you Have the current spate of insecurityon our roads hmmm. If dem kidnap you, that your small capital don go ooo.

Then you have the foolish government who wants everyone to go start tilling the soil and planting cassava and yam in this 21st century as a means of employment. His minister of agriculture is planning to import grass and semen for cattle to eat and fertilize.

Banana republic! The country is on auto pilot and I'd not even advise my worst enemy to come back here to this next level of hopelessness! It's never been this bad. At least before we thought things would be OK...we had hope. But after this animal's first tenure with a second one oncoming, I can only conclude we made a mistake and I regret not leaving far back then

I thought you people said buhari has turned Nigeria to London and investors are falling head over heels to come back to the country. You people said buhari has transformed the country abi no be so? Mtxhewww

@op Abeg stay put ooo that spirit moving you to Nigeria is a generational spirit that doesn't want you to succeed. I'd advise you move over to Isreal... there are good opportunities there and even unprofessional jobs there have nice pay packages.

They say Buhari is working

In all honesty, i am desensitized to this horrors.

I even feel a sense of detachment , it might as well be happening in Sudan for all I care these days.

At times I wonder if its best for the media to report about this Boko war? Perhaps its best to reduce the report so that people can still have some empathy when such news occur
Believe me when I tell you there is a very thick blanket on the media over these boko haram attacks. The events that make it to the public are like 2 out of 10 believe me.

Can you compare media coverage now and Gejs time? Then even when boko haram eats food, the media carries it and Lai Mohammed and others would come online to scream how Gej was supplying boko haram food to eat so they can be strong to attack undecided

Today any news outlet that carried these stories are even warned and sacked... The attack on daily post by the army is still very fresh in my mind. You remember it?

Politics › Re: Nigeria: How Buhari Is Suppressing Own Govt's Anti-corruption War - PT by bishopkay: 8:43am On May 03, 2019
Akainzo:
You obviously missed the fact that there are different requirements for passing a bill for assent and overriding the President.

For passing a bill, the NASS needs a simple majority of those that were in the auditorium on the day of the decision, thus for Senate, that is 16 votes!

To override the President requires a 2/3 Majority of the entire NASS => 2/3 of 469 = 310 Votes!

To muster such number requires so much politicking and an assurance that the said Bill is going to enjoy widespread support by the populace. Leave all the talk of embarrassing the President, all is politics. The real thing is knowing that getting the 310 votes is a herculean task.
And this is where I based my argument. 2/3 of the national assembly is needed to override the bill. Now in saner climates, would that be a problem for a bill that makes governance more transparent?

Imagine a presiden who rode to power the first time on claims of fighting corruption yet when the bill to enable accountability is brought to him, he suddenly develops cold feet yet his gullible supporters still believe he's fighting corruption
Politics › Re: Nigeria: How Buhari Is Suppressing Own Govt's Anti-corruption War - PT by bishopkay: 6:33pm On May 02, 2019
Akainzo:
In essence you are saying the bill doesn't have enough support amongst the NASS members for them to override the President.
I'd the bill didn't have the support of the legislators, there's no way it could have scaled first second and third readings.

What I am saying is emphasized in the stupid partisan mentality associated with Nigerian legislators especially members of the APC in this current dispensation where good bills would the president refused to assent to are fought against by the legislators because they think it would embarrass the president. Meaning the president is our law and guide and whatever he is uncomfortable with, all Nigerians should automatically feel the brunt too no matter how beneficial the hitherto bill would be for people. Then we also have some very mad supporters who feel the country and everything ought to revolve around the president, his whims and caprices.

Hope you understand me now my friend

So what has stopped the Saraki led Senate from overriding the President by passing the bill into law through a 2/3 majority vote in the NASS?
When you answer the question I asked then I'd give you a robust reply. But perhaps I should give you a sneak peak into what happened when the national assembly wanted to override the electoral bills and some others before and after it?

Some senators of the APC said the Saraki led national assembly wanted to embarrass and humiliate the president hence they worked against ever getting a 2/3 veto to override the president's stance. Does it ring any bells?

The president will give his war on corruption a real boost by signing the audit bill. The current audit ordinance act of 1956 is old, archaic, and inadequate to cater for current trends in auditing. I want to believe that the president is still studying the details of the bill and as soon as he’s done, he will assent to the bill.
