Very well said however exchange rate changes cannot explain an increase of 1.5 Trillion per year to 17.5 trillion in one year. Even with an exchange of 150 at a time there's still an additional 2 trillion unaccounted for. I hope some time soon there's far better accountability more so that NNPC is said to be allegedly privatised.

Atiku wants us to get into blind arguments.
Atiku needs to get the necessary desired information and let Nigerians know it rather than playing to the gallery of the information given us by the FG or NNPC


One expenditure is for subsidy.
The other expenditure is for pipeline surveillance.There are parameters used for such contract/project awards. We are not told the actual stretch of kilometers of pipeline that the NNPC protects. That is a critical aspect information amongst other parameters.

Note that, we are not comparing subsidy for one regime to another. These projects are basically two different projects and have to meeting point.

Atiku should do his findings, after all he was part of the system and should have people within to give him the necessary. There's also the issue of under recovery and we don't know where it's categorized in the NNPC accounting records.
Atiku should do this to show proof of intelligence.

Fuel subsidy is gone and Nigerians pay so much times more yet NNPC appears to lazily lump under recovery, pipeline protection and repairs, losses from theft and the challenges from high exchange rate into pipeline protection. There should be much better accountability for this to make sense. Besides this figure portends more to 2024 than 2025 but 18trillion in 12 years is far cheaper than 17.5 trillion in 1 year unless there's a grand pleasant benefit to come sooner.

Whatever Atiku is saying is just half truths. Every administration does that.
Now, the word subsidy was just substituted as "under recovery". I once read about it somewhere and it's a funny approach to running an economy.

In as much as we can say 18 trillion in 12 years is cheaper than 17.5 trillion in 1 year......I can't say if this values are correct but we have to remember that the currency exchange between dollar/naira has increased tremendous.....I still remember that before the elections dollar/naira was $1/#150, but now it's about $1/#1500 approx.

Atiku please be reminded that you said that it's your cronies you'll also give out contracts and especially sell the Nigerian refineries to just like under your watchful eyes as VP, Nigerian assets were sold for less it's value.
