It is so difficult to recall an elected lawmaker in the country. The constitution provides that in the process of the recall, 50% of the voters who cast their votes in the 2023 House of Assembly election signatures need to be on the provided document by INEC. The petition needs to be looked into and INEC has no financial support to conduct an election because it is a commission that works with the budget. The lawyer is wasting his time right now. The 50% of the voters who cast their votes for the speaker may not be alive again, some may not have their voter cards again, some may have relocated, some may not be interested in the process while others will surely support what the speaker is doing. We should always remember that we practice representative democracy in Nigeria. What the speaker is doing is by the will of his elected constituent members not by his alone. He does his consultation properly with his constituents and the majority always has a say!
In a country where election results are written in the confines of an individual's house this people want one INEC to believe that the signatures of the voters will not be forged and they will just gather people around and tell us that they have signed.....

Rubbish is what they are try to actualize.

He doesn’t have the power to appoint a caretaker chairman to all the local government secretariat and caretaker chairmen aren’t known to the constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria . The Supreme Court gave a final verdict last year that in case the tenure of the elected chairman has expired the tenure can be elongated pending to the local government election being conducted. The Rivers State Assembly has made a law ruled by the two-third majority to overrule the governor's power to sign the enactment to become a law. As it stands, by the chance of the Supreme Court interpretation those chairman whose tenure has expired will be reinstated till the local government election is conducted. Please don’t miss emotions with the law of the land, thank you.
They will not be reinstated because whatever law the State Assembly have modified is contrary to the law of the FGN.
This particular law from the RSHoA will never stand at all whatsoever. The FGN law supercedes all laws and whatever is contrary is null, void and empty.
What they initially did was okay but Gov. Fubara did not follow through and let their tenures expire.
Bringing them back will be putting Care Takers Chairmen in place which is unconstitutional.

They will only modify the State law for future purposes. Because of the situation they can find a way to appeal to the FG to release the LGC allocations pending when the elections are conducted if they actually won't stand against it.
Or Gov. Fubara can use State funds and pay the salaries of the local government staffs still all is resolved and he gets a refund.

Otherwise the days of emotional sentiments is gone and lost.

Many don't even know what is happening apart from whipping up emotions, sentiments and their hatred from Wike for being part of Atiku's failed presidential ambition.

They don't even realize that these HoA members come from various constituencies and in these constituencies they have their people on ground....

Can Gov. Fubara spend Rivers State money for such recall?
Can the APP LGC who have been removed by the SC judgement sponsor such?
They better out their funds to things that will be fruitful and focus on putting the state in higher development strides.

The same Assembly members that gave the Governor a 48hours ultimatum to present the budget. Were they also expecting a reply from the governor after issuing ultimatum? The ultimatum meant they were in a hurry to receive the budget, the governor only expedited the process for them by not waiting for a reply.
Yes, they were expecting a reply from the governor of which he first told them on socal media if I'm not . mistaken that he has not been served the CTC judgment from the SC via his lawyers and when the governor was given an extension of a other 48 hours, he decided to do a socal media invite to the RSHA informing them of what they would be deliberating about !!!!!!

Gov. Fubara is playing to his own crowd and gallery. It will not help him much. Those who he claim are standing by him will not be there when it will get RED.....

When I see things like this happening, I also remember those of the region who PGEJ into believing he would fight certain elements within the region and still emerge re-election.

Whatever point Gov. Fubara is trying to prove via sentiment, it will only be for those who fal fot such emotions.

Instead of Tinubu advising Wike to leave SIM alone, he's always advising SIM to make the impression that SIM is the bad person.

It's obvious that he wants to kick SIM out so Wike can rig Rivers State election results for him again in 2027!
Gov. Fubara is deliberately and intentionally using psychology to appeal to the emotions and parochial sentiments of Rivers people.
Gov. Fubara is intentionally playing the victim. This is narcissist in all ramifications.

It is better he plays dumb and do what the judgment demands of him rather than trying to gather sentiments and trying to paint the legislative house the trouble makers.
He was given 48 hours and an extension but rather he chose to do a public social media invitation letter to the RSHA......

Does the process of putting up that letter show any form of respect, does it show proof that he regards them as anything worthwhile?

Is it a personal informal meeting or was it a business of the State?

Gov. Fubara will only play to the emotions of those who are gullible. He does not intend to make peace. Whatever his plans are they will be futile if he continues this way.

The more he wipes up sentiments are gather media people the more he would be on the loosing side. The law is the law. There's no going back on that now that he has been judged and found wanting.

But this issue is simple maths.
For this particular 4 bedroom ( 2 bedroom and 1 bedroom x 2) , up to 5000 blocks might be involved.

If you go by the second builder, you will spend 5000 x #240 = #1.2M . Just to lay blocks. He might not supervise the rest of the work.

If you go by the first contractor, you will spend #1.3M lay blocks to roofing level and also get his supervision for whole duration.

If you source for another regular brick layer, you will pay around #150 per block x 5000 = #750k . But you must also pay another person for supervision through out the duration to roofing level.

Supervision of brick layer might be more than 10k daily.

Personally, I will continue with the first person who is the main contractor that started the building..

You sound surprised that he told you upfront about your responsibility for purchasing the needed materials.
Now, you expect him to buy 100 bags ( #1M) of cement you will need for the 5000 blocks work from that contract amount? ( 1 bags of cement for 50 block)
Or the 30 tons of sand about 200k
Or the 20 tons of granite #400k
Or woods for frame work , nails and binding wire
Buy Rebar rods
Pay for carpenter
Pay for iron bender
Buy water
Pay for other helpers - hope you know that you will still need people to mix and pour the concrete
6" blocks has not reached #240 per block to lay.

A client of mine paid #85,000 for every 600 blocks to be laid ,which comes out about #140 per block.

He clearly said the 1.3M is for Workmanship... And nothing more... That I will be the one to be buying cement daily for him to work and when is time to use carpenter, I will also provide it, and also buy granite as well ... That the 1.3M is just for workmanship
If that is the case then you have to look elsewhere for another mason who is reliable, sincere and good in the arts to take up the job.

It was supposed to be the happiest day of his life, but for one groom, the sudden appearance of his ex-girlfriend brought back a flood of memories and emotions.

As the ex-girlfriend made her way to greet the groom and his new wife, the groom's eyes followed her, his expression a mix of sadness, longing, and regret. It was as if the past had come crashing back, threatening to upend the future he was about to embark on.

The groom's tears began to flow, and he was forced to take a moment to collect himself.

The appearance of the ex-girlfriend had served as a poignant reminder that the past is never truly forgotten.

They are even called honorables...

But all that honour goes to the dust when they are being controlled and dictated to, by one man...

That's the problem here!

One man tells them what to do, where to go, what to say...

And such a bunch of nitwits and punks will be issuing ultimatums!

One of the lawmakers even said they won't honour any invitation for what he did to their principal..

grin grin grin
Whatever they choose to do is their business and not the business of Rivers people though it seems like it is but it never was and is.

Wike will remain their Principal of all of them who rode and rose on his shoulders to where they are today even the governor who is in disagreement with his principal over what is not Rivers business.

So, they will sort themselves out one way or the other.

Definitely not.

Summoning the Chief executive is not out of place.

But giving an ultimatum is plain disrespectful...

But it's lawful and Fubara has to abide.

Fubara has in turn invited them...He knows they won't come but it's just a subtle reminder that he is the boss of the state.
You seem to have reduced our laws to nonsense and think we will walk in the old ways for ever where governors feeling like emperor's and showing rascality.

If the ultimatum is within the confines of the law then it's not disrespectful.
Remember, that the governor himself before now has said he does not recognize them as members of the house and that in itself is disrespectful judging by the law.

If you still think by this invite he intends to prove that he is the boss then he is still walking on the path of failure as it concerns the entirety of this whole political drama.

The people he claimed that will die of hunger, he shouldn't be calling them for a meeting regarding their entitlements. He ought to have instructed the necessary office to do that immediately. They are not at his mercy but he is at their mercy.

There is no way he will win this fight if he continues like this. There is no way and if he wants to appeal to sentiments and use of psychology on Rivers people then that's is his business.

What Fubara did is just a deliberate tit for tat.
You should be reminded that the legislators are not stooges to/of the governor.
Rivers State is just a case study and with time such will be replicated in the entirety of the nation.

The question you ought to ask is if the 48 hours ultimatum is lawful or unlawful and what does the law say about duration for such?

Well, it’s a good call for peace in the state but I think the government is getting it wrong in some key area of decision as stated on the copy of the attached file to my comment. The governor generally does not decide the space of meeting for the legislative arm (state assembly); the legislative body itself, or its presiding officer, typically determines that. What the governor should do is to present the budget as instructed by the Supreme Court. The Invite is unnecessary because there is no relevance in what he state in the meeting because he’s supposed to pay the legislative members their salaries and benefits. Failing to do that is unconstitutional and against the law. The governor should be careful with the people he listens to and avoid anything that will ruin and tarnish his image and make him politically irrelevant.
Well, there are things we will leave at the discretion of his advisers and himself.

It's worthy to note that 19 commissioners screened by the 3 house members are illegitimate.

This and more are what I think will be part of the discussion. All i see is someone will have to do something to save face and someone has to swallow his pride if he intends to come out right .
