Emanodimo: Sometimes, I wonder what that the law says. Or it is just the same slogan of See no evil, Say no evil. The law in Nigeria seems to be one sided sometimes.
With regards to these legislative members that defected, what are the consequences for an elected officials who defect to another party
Does Supreme court have no discussion around it.
Or it is now a norm, unwritten rules with no offence?
Have you been following the case from it's beginning up till the recent verdict?
Do you know what the applications were in the Court by both the plaintiffs and defendants?
The FG has to come into this to put and end to future repitions....
Let two types of schools be opened even to the university level...
One institution for strictly Muslims. One institution for strictly Christians.
So that whenever the SG wants to shut down the schools because of Ramadan for Muslims, the christians have no concerned about what they do. We can join them in breaking their fast.
Make una ask Prof who are the Ijaws that will sponsor such crisis and who are the ijaws that will go out to jeopardize their lives for such trivial political issues. The Prof is only talking just like Wike said, you can talk and still be eating from the pause of the SG.
It's the same Ijaws who are handling the pipeline surveillance contract, so whose child will be out there do the crisis?
press9jatv: don’t you read English niii. He rehabilitate the fire service center and also equipped the place
Please make use of your dictionary.... Like I said, you don't rehabilitate a building structure, if your desire is to put that in English language and pidgin.
Please do well to find the proper word to use in English.
press9jatv: Governor Fubara to Commission Rehabilitated Mile 1 Fire Service Station in Rivers State
By: Daure David
His Excellency, the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Siminalayi Fubara of PDP, is set to commission the newly rehabilitated Mile 1 Fire Service Station today, marking a significant milestone in the revitalization of the Rivers State Fire Service.
The Mile 1 Fire Service Station, which had been dormant for over a decade, has undergone extensive repairs and refurbishment under the current administration. Governor Fubara’s commitment to improving the state’s emergency response infrastructure has led to the rejuvenation of this critical facility, aimed at enhancing the state's ability to respond swiftly to fire incidents and other emergencies.
The rehabilitation of the Mile 1 Fire Service Station is a part of a broader effort by the Fubara-led administration to modernize and revitalize the state’s fire services. The Governor’s vision for a safer Rivers State is evident in his focus on providing the fire service with the resources and equipment necessary to address the growing challenges posed by fire outbreaks and other disasters.
This newly refurbished station is one of three fire service stations rehabilitated by the current administration, with plans for further improvements across the state to ensure effective and efficient emergency response. The rehabilitation efforts will not only help in curbing the frequency and intensity of fire disasters but will also enhance the capacity of the fire service to save lives and properties during emergencies.
Governor Fubara’s administration has made significant strides in improving public safety, with infrastructure projects like these aimed at bolstering the state’s emergency services, providing better protection to residents, and ensuring the overall well-being of the people of Rivers State.
The commissioning ceremony is expected to be attended by various stakeholders, including government officials, fire service personnel, and members of the public, all of whom will witness firsthand the advancements made in ensuring a safer, more resilient Rivers State.
As the Governor continues his efforts to strengthen the state’s emergency infrastructure, the commissioning of the rehabilitated Mile 1 Fire Service Station stands as a testament to the administration’s commitment to public safety and disaster preparedness in Rivers State.

I hope you are not an emergency media person. You can't rehabilitate a building. That's wrong use of English.
fergie001: After that, what will happen? Ngige did that in Anambra, at least to a large extent... The Court still removed him though Anambra was better for it at the end of everything.
Ww can't tell what will happen after that.
As it stands now, the ball is in his court. To court them and play along or they do whatever they like.
He can also incite Rivers people to boo them fervently at their respective constituencies. They need to do that strong willed about it. He can also lead a State protest against the legislative house.
He can do it all without fear or favour even if it meant he will be impeached or prosecuted....
Can he truly take the risks to know if truly wo are the ijaws that are with him willingly to go the way of the 9th Mile....
He doesn't need to sponsor any of it. Only create the enabling environment.
If you claim to have evidence and names of the 21 men in the industry why come out to trouble us with something youre scared that the high profile men will kill you..?
Why don't you just quietly divorce your wife and let go of her to now do enjoy your promosicuity better without restrain.
fergie001: A window to further rope him in. Part of his problems at the SC was the suit he withdrew after Tinubu's intervention. His last card is the suit at the FHC, and I know Obile will adjourn till eternity. Wike said Fubara can only appeal to God. The help they can render him is make him lame-duck till 2027. At the worse, they want his head.... He has crossed the Rubicon already. I will see what his decision will be after most likely 7/3.
He has moved to LP.
There's only one way out for Gov. Fubara and that's if he is willing to not be bothered about what will happen to him afterwards.
Let Gov. Fubara come up publicly on State Television and tell the people of Rivers State what was the agreement between Wike and him and the roles of the State Assembly and commissioners in all of it as they are all linked and appendages of Wike. Gov. Fubara has to come out clean, really clean on the truth and we don't need any icing on it.
wealthyprince: May it not happen with presideny and governors because it will be a bad precedent..elongation of tenure with election.
Can National Assembly Extend Tinubu Tenure In Same Situation or House Of Assembly Change Law To Extend Governors Tenure in Similar Situation.
By your assertion does it also mean Tinubu cannot order or control certain things in states because of governors autonomy ?
Someone should clear me on this because i dont understand how these extension things works? Is it legal or illegal?
Just a question. A lawyer can help.
Lawyers are the major problems of this country when it comes to legal issues interpretation within the politics of Nigeria.
Nevertheless........ The Constitution and laws of the FRN supercedes every State constitution and laws. In fact each States' constitution and law takes form and order from that of the FRN which is often times amended by the Federal Legislative House( NA). Now, the States' Assembly can go ahead and do whatever they like but if their laws falls contrary to that of the FRN and it is brought before a competent court of law and jurisdiction, the States' law is rendered null.and void and that of the FRN takes precedence. That is what the judge at any point in time will give as verdict.
With respect to tenure elongation of the LGC chairmen, that which the RSA Speaker did us alien to the Constitution of the FRN and it will not stand. Gov. Fubara does not need to even bother himself about that. The former chairmen tenures have expired and they can't be brought back. That amendment of the law by the RSA is a futile work as long as the construction of the FRN regarding LGCA remains the way it is. That which Speaker Ahmaewule and his co travellers did is a waste in the bin.
This aide is just acting out of fuulishness and sheer stewpidity....
It's a known fact that any State law that does not align with that of the FG law is null and void. So that which Gov. Sim has done is line with governance and administration in the LG civil service as it should be.
tunapawizzy: do you know the legal steps involved in order to impeach a state governor in nigeria The Chief Judge of a state plays a crucial role, without the Chief Judge of the state being on the same side as the legislature, it is not happening most likely scenario: The 26 lawmakers will frustrate the passing of budget and and anything fubara needs their approval for. The people of rivers state may suffer a bit. LG elections will be conducted Fubara's men will win. 2027, majority of these 26 lawmakers will not win their seat.
Hahahaha ..
The 26 lawmakers belong to a constituency and they will sort themselves out within their individual constituencies come next election. It might also interest you to know that the LG elections might be delayed much more if the order to release the voters register or list is not given to the State electoral body. If the LG elections hold, I only see the eventuality that we will have more than one party having to win in the elections through their candidates. Many of those who had won will not return. There is much not seen to the eyes than to the permutations of the analysts. Las las everyone go rest. Make we just hope that the RSNA does not write the SG to prove the accounts of the LGAC for the period of stay of these chairmen that the court have sacked.....
Let's also hope the CJ does not have a stain on him if they want to use him to facilitate the impeachment of the governor....
press9jatv: Like I told some people last week, Fubara understand the game of politics well and he’s winning big time
Is he actually winning: really?
Initial gra gra that was what he was doing......now he is actually side stepping on there maybe no much moves for him to make on the chess board for him.....he is already on CHECK.
Someone should tell Dr. Ishi that any State law inconsistent with the FG law is literally and practically null, void and worthless. Even the FC have made such pronouncement.
Make him go sit down for him house or elsewhere. If you near that LG secretariate, if hand touch you then it's on you.....that is your fault. At this point in time, Gov. Fubara should put the security agencies on alert and arrest any person who tries to even cause any bit of trouble.
janeedema: Where is Obaseki, how? Didn’t he finish his two terms? What do you guys call betrayal? For Christ’s sakes, no state belongs to any former governor. This ain’t done in democracy na. Why are we like this? Does everything have to be papa and pikin based? No institution grows through godfatherism.
Make your mark and let others lead. Let governors and presidents choose who they aspire to be like in leadership style like we see in the west where they aspire to be better than the best of the best of their leaders.
We should stop enabling godfatherism. It places a huge demand on the state. Servicing these godfathers is at the expense of the populace. Let’s wake up!
We are all aware how Obaseki won his second tenure and without the help of Wike it would have been a lost cause then.
While this is a good one from Gov. Fubara and the Rivers State Government.
I wonder why he is saying this lawyers may get the certified true copy of the judgement on the 7th of March but they the lawyers are advising him to adhere to the judgement!!!!
E b like say them don see the road how e b now before them...
He has been seeking Tinubu's attention but Wike hasn't allowed. So just commenting to seek attention.
Magnus Abe understands protocols and procedures. If he wasn't he would have sought much more during PMB administration while CRA was Minister of Transportation. Everyone has their time. PBAT has him in view. Wike has him in view too. The rest is just to play the game.
Elibaba1: And so he should give him rules on how to run the state , Select commissioners for him and also demand 25Billion every month??
As regards the demand for #25 Billion monthly is nothing but heresay amd beer parlour talks. Let Fubara come out publicly and tell us the agreement he went into with Wike....
Who else do you think is supposed to select commissioners for him?
Was he not accountant general and did he not know how commissioners were nominated and selected for appointment?
topsy23: If government can control the price, it will be better for us and also government should make everything available for the manufacturers too. They always complaining of running cost not raw materials because most of their raw materials are locally sourced.
I don't know much about cement manufacturing in Nigeria but one thing I do know is that they should have a way to source for electricity for a subsidized rate from the FG. Use of electricity for production of products is one of the major challenges in every business.
Apart from that we do know that business people will always complain of running cost. With this the downstream sector of petroleum comes to mind. They are always in a fast mode to compare us to the USA.
BondRiv: Abe is right, but fools will always find a way to display their element. It is over. Fubara lost before he began fighting. He is a clueless neophyte, who keeps digging deeper holes for himself. That's just what it is. There is nothing else to litigate. I have always been consistent that he was going to lose whichever way. He has neither the law, nor political prowess. He should have taken Tinubu's deal at the time.
He has proven what manner of substance and person he is.... I just wonder those who went with him to see PBAT and were given a peace pact agreement and they all reneged on it the moment they return into PHC.....
I so so wish Gov. Fubara could come out clean and tell us the beef he has with Wike rather than making us speculate about it all..... Because we have all heard from Wike but never from Gov. Fubara except from those who choose to speak for him and not him teliua himself...... But he wants us to go ask them what is his offense!!!!!
Lavoca: Should government be trying to control prices or provide an enabling environment where they can be fair competition and a reduction in cost of production?
All governments over the world control prices as well as create an enabling environment. If the Nigerian government decides to control prices then it's a good development. Is it not better than telling us that they are giving the masses subsidies which always seems fictitious with mind blowing amounts.
pastorarynzay: If Una think say the whole 27lawmaker are against fubara una don loss, many ijaws dey inside and their brother na their brother. One call with patients Jonathan case closed, why did the supreme Court announce this after pa Clark is gone. Wike has been used and dump Period. Tinubu will surely loss Lagos and rivers, that even if Donald Trump allow am contest.
Hahahahaha..... Forget about the talk about Ijaw brothers and not Ijaw brothers.
What weight does Pa Clark hold in the Niger Delta that will change the SC verdict to be in favour of Fubara or do you think those who are on the other side are delusional?
