I can't believe that WB is still doing fan screenings at this point.

This movie is over_exposed.

They are showing it off to thousands of fans in every city in North America every fvcking week.

It's crazy.

They should stop abeg. E don do.

I hope it works out for them in the end at the box office.

I'm glad that SONY kept the rights to Spiderman instead of selling to Disney.

Best decision they ever made.

Spiderverse is not Disney

I was referring to Elementals

Elemental cost $200m to make.

This movie will bomb hard at the box office.

Imagine the audacity to release it on the same day as Flash

The 'L's Disney will collect this month with this film and Indiana Jones, I can't wait.

And it's doing well at the box office too. The anti-woke crowd about to change their tune and start talking about "how it's not too woke" or "the wokeness is not being forced down your throat".

The game remains the same 😂🤣😂
Little Mermaid is not doing well at the box office.

It's only doing well at domestic box office, it's got underwhelming results overseas.

This movie is only boasting $164m global opening.
53% less than the global opening of Beauty and the Beast and 20% behind the global opening of Aladdin.

It will loose it's premium screens next week to highly anticipated Spiderverse and it will struggle to break $500m at the end of it's run.

This is a movie that cost $250m asides the marketing budget.

Thank you, Bob Chapek!! 😅😀
Indiana Jones and now this one too...

June is competitive but the Flash will come out on top as the biggest movie of the month.

Disney will not see any profit next month.

your people on this thread almost roasted me alive for saying the CGI in the trailer looks awful

Now people who have seen the full movie are saying the same thing

The only thing that looked authentic in that trailer were the faces...every other thing was awful CGI...even the suits looked like some PS3 shiii

I don't know if the movie will succeed or flop...but I know the CGI in that final trailer was awful...
For your information, the Flash movie they are showing to early viewers is still the Cinemacon version_ the version with unfinished CGI not the complete movie that will release on 16th June.

This Cinemacon version doesn't have end credits scenes and it was tweaked a bit to hide the big reveals like the original ending, this is just for marketing purposes.

It's not the complete movie.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL 3 REVIEW

A SATISFYING CONCLUSION TO A SPECTACULAR TRILOGY

GOTG 3 is James Gunn's swan song and final entry in the MCU and as you would expect, it is very good and entertaining movie.

This movie packs a punch with everything you'd expect from a great MCU movie. It has a very good, compelling and emotional story. Great action sequences, beautiful visual effects. Satisfying characters.

Every Guardian in this movie has moments where they get to shine very well, even Kraglin and Cosmo had their moments. Peter Quill was fun to watch. His arc was nice and he got a satisfying send off.

The Russo Brothers really put Gunn in a tight spot when they killed off Gamora and brought back a different version of the character. But James Gunn showed his amazing skill as a writer and tackled that situation head on by introducing a whole new theme of dealing with loss and learning to let go.

Mantis and Nebula were fun to watch in this movie. Drax is also funny. Although the humor in this one is not as good as the previous films but it was okay overall.
Groot was fine and he seems to have evolved into a more efficient member of the team. The way he utilizes his body in this movie was really innovative.

Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary is a perfect casting. He brought his A game and delivered a very good performance as the villain.
The High Evolutionary as a villain is well written. He is a sadist, powerful and terrifying. He means business. The movie doesn't just do pointless exposition telling you how evil he is. They actually show him doing extremely evil sh*t. There's a whole action sequence where this guy nukes an entire planet. He's the best villain in the trilogy.

The story is very emotional, so moving. Especially Rocket's backstory. It was painful and soul crushing.
There was a scene where he asked if he could follow his old friends but Lyla said "No, you still have a purpose here".

Everybody in my theatre was silent when that scene played out.

Guardians of the galaxy is mostly funny and lighthearted. But vol 3 gets very dark and gritty. The movie makes a point against animal cruelty by showing some gruesome unorthodox experiments metted out on poor creatures.

But don't worry. The movie is not entirely dark and gritty. The other half of the movie is lighthearted and James Gunn does a great job balancing tonal differences.

Another thing I love this movie is the personal stakes.
The guardians are not trying to stop a world destroying egomaniac. Instead they are in a race against time to save the life of a friend.
This makes for a more heartfelt and compelling story. A much better story than GOTG 1 and 2.

The visuals in this movie is very well done. It's beautiful and watching this movie you can tell that the VFX crew had plenty of time and room to do an excellent job.

The action is spectacular. James Gunn is a great action director.
There's this one take 4 minutes action scene that he did in some kind of hallway with all the guardians. It was so good. I can't wait to see it again.

The one thing I dislike about this movie is the subverted expectations.
The trailers give you the impression that someone is going to die, as a matter of fact James Gunn in one of his interviews implied that not all of the guardians will survive.
Well, now I've seen the movie, I can tell you for a fact that all of them survived even the villain.

There's a new character in this movie. Adam Warlock. I didn't care for him and I thought he stuck out like a sore thumb.

Overall this is a great movie. I think it's tied with GOTG 1 as the best in the trilogy.

Top tier MCU. A diamond in the rough considering the fact that MCU overall is at its weakest right now with a forgettable phase 4 and a phase 5 that started with a crap Antman movie.

GOTG 3 is refreshing. A satisfying movie that reminds us how good the MCU can be.

My rating…. 9/10

Vin Diesel has seemingly confirmed that ‘FAST X’ will now be Part 1 of a three-part finale.

The previous plans were for 2 parts.

---- I would have criticized this...but my favorite show is doing it too albeit for different reasons
Do you know that Dwayne Johnson is in Fast X cheesy

Apparently the man swallowed his pride after Black Adam and agreed to return to Fast and Furious.

They had to do an emergency reshoot just to add him.

Citadel episode 4 is a solid 9/10 for me.

This is by far the best episode so far, even though the time of this episode is kind of short, just 39 minutes. The episode was still a hit back to back.

Secrets upon secrets, mystery upon mystery, can't wait to see how it will end.

Mehn!! This is why i love Netflix, they will just give you all the episodes at once.r

Now we have to wait for another week again for a new episode.
My brother in Christ why are you torturing yourself like this

Why don't you wait for all the episodes to drop in an about two months and then binge everything.

That is what I did for Last Of Us, Yellowjackets and most of these new shows.

The only show I cannot use the binge model for is House of the Dragon because it's difficult to avoid spoilers.

I'm going to see this movie next week.

It will be my first time going to the cinema for an MCU film since Doctor Strange 2.

Top tier MCU is finally back.

After all the back to back mediocre projects they were dishing out, it's good to see a great MCU film.

A big relief.
It's funny tho... But my initial plan was to wait for GOTG 3 to drop on the high seas by September.

My confidence in the MCU and comic book films overall have been very low. Superhero fatigue don dey touch me ngl.

I have changed my mind, I can't wait to see GOTG 3.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 8.5/10

James Gunn is really good at what he does. It's kinda funny how the first movie that lets DC fans know they're in good hands is an MCU movie.
The same way Gunn took a rag-tag bunch of Marvel B-and-C-listers and made them a hit in 2014 is how he closes out their chapter with another hit.

An emotional rollercoaster of a story that takes a look at every guardian and asks the question, "Who are you?"
The cast has never missed a beat since they burst on the scene 9 years ago and they definitely didn't miss now. Fluidly moving from the familiar GotG style of humour to depicting anger, rage, grief and despair in a way that draws you in and makes you care about stuff you didn't even know you could care about.

The storytelling is amazing and utilizes elements of cinema proficiently. After about 2 decades of consuming stories, there's a good number of story beats you can predict but the way they handled a scene that I saw coming still had that scene hitting me deep in the feels.
The action scenes are also really entertaining, well choreographed and shot.

It's a James Gunn movie and so you know that means the soundtrack is definitely a banger lineup. And it is, with tracks all the ways from the 70s to the 2000s. Not to mention that the original score by John Murphy is also a blessing to the ears and enhances the emotional moments in the story.

Vol. 3 definitely puts Guardians of the Galaxy up there as one of the best MCU trilogies. Hell, I personally rank it as the best MCU trilogy.

Even more cringe was the humor they were going for with his character. And that "moment of self-acceptance" just had me rolling my eyes.
Cassie: Darren stop, stop trying to be whatever this is.

Darren: What do you want me to be?

Cassie: I don't know, just don't be a dick

Darren: But...look at me. I'm a dick

Cassie: It's never too late to stop being a dick

The cringiest lines I have ever seen in an MCU film.

It had me wheezing

Cassie's acting and line delivery didn't help at all.

I'm glad I'm not the only person disappointed by the absence of Scott's friends from the first two Antman films.

T.I., Michael Pena and David Dastsmalchin. None of them were featured in this movie.

It feels like Scott became famous and ditched all his friends.

Cast Damson or Corey and the MCU need not worry about Kang anymore smiley
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by BlackManta(m): 9:22am On Apr 20, 2023
Another option is Damson Idris.

This British-Nigerian actor needs no introduction cuz he's already famous.

Very talented actor. Popular known for his role in Snowfall.

Damson has the same physique as Majors and he's just as talented...Majors has a bigger frame because he added muscle for Creed 3.

He's two years younger than Majors.

TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by BlackManta(m): 9:07am On Apr 20, 2023
If Marvel recast Kang and they will, Corey Hawkins is my top choice to replace Jonathan Majors.

He has the same physique as Majors, although Majors is bigger now because he added muscle for Creed 3.

Corey is a very good actor.

He was in The Walking Dead, Kong Skull Island, Straight Outta Compton, 24 Legacy, 6 Underground and Blackkklasnsman and I can say he was impressive in those roles.

He has a warm personality and I think he would be perfect for Kang.

He's a good actor, albeit underrated.

Corey is 34. A year older than Majors.

Marvel will definitely recast Kang with another black actor and Corey is one of the good ones.

Although Batman will still be in it
Flash cannot pull Super Mario numbers. I highly doubt it.

Even if The Flash is a spectacular movie with overwhelmingly positive reviews from critics and audiences, there's no chance of a billion dollars.

The Ezra Miller situation, the lack of interest in DCEU and "superhero fatigue" are tough hills the Flash must climb to be successful.

If it pulls anything close to $800m, WB should celebrate.

Even the MCU will not get a billion dollar grosser this year.
