Refusing to do cameos until guaranteed a movie is just childish. He'll eventually get a movie soon if he did cameos and his stock rises as Supes.
Imagine having the opportunity of portraying an iconic character as Superman and be dragging your feet. No be like say na established actor. Smh.

Zaslav should just bring his DC head sharp sharp so they can make a decision quick and let everyone move on and know the way forward.

The fact that Ben Affleck saw fit to play Batman one more time in the Flash despite everything he's been through with WB makes this Cavill drama more irritating.

He's not even on Scar Jo's level.

Even RDJ did a few cameos for other MCU films and never tried to gatekeep Iron Man.

How can one person keep the most iconic superhero hostage because he's looking to get more money and creative control.

Playing Superman is a dream come true.
Do you know how many actors would jump at the chance to play that character.

Tyler Hoechlin is proof that even a D- grade actor can embody everything that makes Superman special.

Henry Cavill should pack up his over inflated ego and leave.

If he's that big of an actor, why are other big Hollywood franchises and studios not fighting for his signature?

To be honest, I wasn't too hyped for this movie before but damn this trailer has turned it around for me.

Man watched Wanda go on a murderous spree. Saw a universe that collapsed due to its Dr Strange using the Darkhold but wants a PowerPoint presentation on the Darkhold's corruption.

If the Darkhold wasn't a factor to Wanda's villainy, why did she destroy it at the end of the movie? Why didn't she leave it for a good person to make proper use of it? Why was Wong bothered that Strange used it and why did Wanda call Strange a hypocrite for using the Darkhold?

HOW EXACTLY DOES THE DARKHOLD CORRUPT?

Seriously, how? There's no reason for it to do that. It serves no purpose for the book specifically. There are other examples of items corrupting wielders but those work because they serve a purpose.

The One Ring has Sauron's power tied to it. It makes sense that he would make it so that anyone who had the ring would be tempted by its power and wouldn't want to destroy it thus Sauron can still survive if he "dies". Some of Voldemort's horcruxes have this function. The necklace makes the wielder more unstable thus affecting their decision making which could make it easier for Voldy to retrieve it when he finds out it's missing. The diary allows him to possess the wielder and manipulate them into his bidding at least to some extent. Ignoring the horrible execution in Harry Potter, the concept is still understandable. In both these cases, the corrupting artifacts are borderline indestructible with very few things being able to destroy them.

Obviously there are things that corrupt people in fiction for no particular reason. Like the Goblin Serum or the Lizard Serum in Spider-Man and TASM respectively. But these make sense. They are dangerous chemicals that were injected into the creator out of desperation and injecting shit that seriously alters your biology can definitely do shit to your brain. It's not a living thing like the Venom Symbiote which in some versions, is either a feral bloodthirsty animal (Ultimate Comics), an evil angry and hateful monster (90s TAS, 2017, Spectacular Spider-Man),or somewhere in somewhere in between (SM3).

None of this applies to the Darkhold. It's not trying to bring back its creator or keep him from dying. It's not a thing that coincidentally corrupts you. It's not an actual living thing. The creator placed that effect on the Darkhold intentionally for no reason at all only for the sake of the plot.

Honestly, the movie's not actually clear on what it does to the user. Seemed more like a general temptation thing to me and in fact the movie just says "it takes a heavy toll".

Wanda seems to have actively and intentionally sought to use the book and there's absolutely no clear indication she got drawn to it by any corrupting force.

Side Note: Darkhold excuse completely exempts Agatha from any wrongdoing even from the writers' pov

The dark hold already corrupted a Dr Strange in another universe. The book literally has a mind of its own. It gives the minds eye- the third eye.

Explain how the Darkhold has a mind of its own.
A book commanded Wanda to get up and start killing people, right?
Because that is not what the movie showed us.
Darkhold corrupts is just lazy writing.....You must show exactly how it does that. It's not by dumping exposition.
Fvcking show it if you want to me to believe it.

Darkhold excuse is just you trying to absolve Wanda of any responsibility.

Wanda's madness in WandaVision did not get to the level of killing dozens of innocent people.

WandaVision is about Wanda going through the five stages of grief and she's tried to bury that grief and hide it instead of accepting it and dealing with it like a normal person should.

Wanda in WandaVision is far more relatable than the nonsense they fed us in MoM.

Go back and watch the finale of WandaVision.
She let go of vision and her kids in that finale and moved on.

Fast forward to MoM and MCU ridiculously undid everything they achieved with Wanda in WandaVision.

She started pursuing her kids, same kids that she already let go in WandaVision finale, kids that belong to another woman.....How does this make sense to you huh

Wanda's character journey wasted just like that.

How is it character assassination when Wanda is already mad before the dark hold? The dark hold corrupts. It corrupted a version of Doctor strange.

They only told us that to make up for the lazy writing.

They didn't show us.

Does it control the reader or vice versa huh

Does the book fill your head with evil thoughts huh

Does the book tell you what to do huh

Did the book control Wanda to kill dozens of people or did she do that willingly huh

Does the Darkhold influence its reader to use it, or can the reader use it for his own needs willingly huh

When you say Darkhold corrupts...these are the questions you must answer and you answer them and make things clear by showing it in your movie not dumping it inside exposition.

Based on what I saw in the movie, Darkhold is just a normal magic book with immense power.
The damn thing does not have a mind of its own and it will not tell you how to use it or what to use it for or who to kill.

Wanda in this movie is just a twisted and monstrous fvck.

Hold her responsible for her actions and stop blaming the book.

Blaming Darkhold is like blaming alcohol for all the accidents that happen on the road instead holding drunk drivers accountable.

Now explain how that post credit scene connects into MoM

Because I didn't see any actual kids crying for help in this movie,....what I saw was two happy boys living their normal lives until Wanda tried to kidnap them

MoM undermines WandaVision down to that post credit scene.
Because whatever the writer intended to set up with that post credit scene did not happen, we saw something completely different in MoM.

Also, Wanda as a cold hearted murderer doesn't make sense because she was never like that in WandaVision....if you like, blame darkhold. It still doesn't make sense.

We all witnessed the ridiculous character assassination of Wanda in MoM.

Remember the character assassination of Daenerys in GOT final season, that is what they did to Wanda.

WandaVision explored Wanda going through the five stages of grief. She hurt people and she held an entire town hostage because she wasn't ready to face her grief, instead she tried to bury it and pretend like everything is okay in her fantasy world.

In the finale of WandaVision, she finally gives up her hold on the town. She gave up the fantasy world she created and decided to move forward and deal with her grief instead of hiding from it.

In the finale, she made peace with the fact that her kids and vision are not real.
She said goodbye to her boys and vision as he disappeared forever.

Fast-forward to MoM and we see Wanda trying to reunite with her children. Don't forget she said goodbye to those kids in WandaVision...... She moved on from her kids, Vision and that fantasy world.

MoM did a complete 360 on Wanda and she went as far as murdering dozens of innocent people....Why?

Whatever happened to her to turn into a twisted fvck we will never know.

Do you know that in WandaVision, she didn't take the life of an innocent person. Not one.
She did hurt people but she was never a cold hearted murderer.

MoM absolutely undermined WandaVision.
The writer of MoM even admitted that he didn't watch the show complete

Before you start using Darkhold as excuse, imagine blaming six bottles of Heineken for a car crash instead of the drunk driver who drank them willingly.

Now let's talk about Doctor Strange...

He was a poor character for majority of this movie.
Man was running around like a chicken.
Little and inexpirienced Chavez actually fought Wanda better than Doctor Strange.

The Doctor Strange in this movie is a far cry from the man that stood up to Thanos and fought him without using the time stone.

The Doctor Strange in this movie is a far cry from the man that stopped Dormamu without throwing a punch.

Doctor Strange fell off completely in the MCU.
No wonder Spiderman nerfed him in the mirror dimension, on his own turf.

The only reseaonable thing he did in MoM was killing the one eyed monster and the dreamwalk on the dead body and holding his own against those demons.

Apart from that, he was very much a pvssy in this movie.

What about illuminati... huh

That team was a complete mess.
Reed Richard is the dumbest man in the world for leaking Black Bolt super power to Wanda.

Captain Marvel, one of the most powerful heroes in MCU, was killed by a statue....unbelievable.

Captain Carter belongs in the kitchen.

Mordo is a coward.

Professor Xavier is a complete waste in this movie.
The most powerful telepath in all of Marvel Universe, second only to Jean Grey.
But the useless old man was wasted in 20 seconds.

Please tell me what was the point of illuminati in this movie apart from action spectacle and gbish gbish.

Let's talk about America Chavez.

Discovered her powers at a very young age.
Years have passed and she still couldn't control her powers until she received a pep talk from Doctor Strange.

Imagine the nonsense, it looks like something out of a CW show.

Of all the characters in MoM only Doctor's girlfriend impressed me a little.

Shang Chi's villain was not exactly a threat. A father would hesitate to kill his son. Wanda was ready to destroy anyone in the multiverse to get her children.

I didn't know that threat is what makes a villain great.

Na today I learn that one.

Doomsday was a far bigger threat in BVS than Zod in MOS.
But when it comes to being a great villain, no comic book fan will pick Doomsday over Zod.

It's not about threat.

Your villain has to be well written.

Wanda was willing to kill everyone except Doctor Strange.
Anytime she had him in her grasp, all she did was toss him aside so he can keep fighting to stop her.
If she was serious about her goals and willing to kill anyone who stands in her way, then Doctor Strange would have died in the first act or the second one.

If you are writing your villain to be a murderer who would kill dozens of people to reach her goals, you better keep her that way.

Not switching her off anytime you want.

Better pacing? lol. Shang Chi went from a Chinese history documentary to martial arts to Chinese fantasy movie. Dr Stange MOM was a consistently quirky comedy-horror with action

Shang Chi did all that with better pacing.
Everything was not jam packed under 2 hours, at times they let the story breathe and made out time to flesh out the characters more.

MoM is a horror film that was rushed under 2 hours.
This movie could have used an extra 20 minutes to pace it better and give the story some room to breathe.

The Shang Chi movie is a plot hole itself. Why would a guardian of a gate that holds evil that can destroy the world leave the keys to the gate with her two small children? What about the father? He could have easily taken the pendant from them when they were younger.

Is this the only plot hole you found in Shang Chi? Lol
That should tell you it has better writing than MoM.

For every single plot hole in Shang chi, I can point out 6 more in MoM.

Shang Chi tried but MoM was a mess.

Doctor Strange MOM is a beautiful film. The graphics and effects showing the multiverse are out of this world. The concept alone is crazy- multiverses, dream-walking, alternate people (doppelgangers) etc

Beautiful concept with poor writing will always result in a mess.

Shang Chi is way better than badly written MoM

Shang Chi has :

Better characters
Fantastic villain
Better action sequences
Better pacing
Better story with fewer plot holes if any
Better re-watchability value
Far more entertaining

I'm not a big fan of Shang Chi. I liked it, didn't love it.

But seeing the mid after mid that Marvel is dropping in phase 4, I've come to appreciate Shang Chi even more

I was considering seeing Thor Love and Thunder at Viva Cinemas this weekend.

But when I remembered wasting money on Doctor Strange 2, I say make I wait for reviews and reconsider.

It seems I will be saving that N3500.

Thor will be out on D+ in 45 days anyways.

Shang Chi is also good. Not great but good.

The other movies like Black Widow, Eternals, MoM are plagued with problems...

The D+ shows are a mixed bag too.

But hey, at least MCU is still a money spinner for Disney....that is what matters in the end in Hollywood....money.

I trust Dwayne Johnson would have tried to make Black Adam his biggest movie yet.

I hope the producers of HBO Green Lantern show are seeing these

Doctor Strange 2 will not hit a billion.

I want to see how DC hater Grace Randolph will spin this.

Seeing as she made a whole video listing out reasons why The Batman is a flop for not hitting a billion.

Doctor Strange coming off the back of a mountain of hype after No Way Home.

This is a movie that promised to be bigger than No Way Home, with a much shorter runtime than NWH and Batman..
