MO SALAH faces a religious dilemma as Liverpool are set to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final. Salah is a practising Muslim and the Islamic festival of Ramadan, which requires fasting during daylight hours for a month, begins on May 17 — eight days before the Kiev showdown. Devout Muslim Mo Salah must decide if he should fast during Ramadan Shawki Allam, the Grand Mufti of Egypt, has given permission to Salah and his international team-mates in the Egyptian squad to postpone their fasting in the days building up to the World Cup. But Salah and his fellow Muslims in the Liverpool dressing room — Sadio Mane and Emre Can — will have a decision to make ahead of Champions League final: risk their physical condition by denying themselves food and drink while training ahead of flying to Kiev, or fail to observe “sawm” (fasting during Ramadan), one of the five pillars of Islam, for the sake of football. Salah admitted in 2014 he had found observing Ramadan difficult to combine with pre-season training at Chelsea. Mo Salah admits it can be difficult to train while fasting Salah said: “Ramadan was a bit difficult for me because we had two training sessions every day, the weather was very hot and I played in every game. “I wasn’t even able to drink water until 9.30pm. Although I am used to it, it’s finished now and I can eat and drink as normal. “When you train twice a day, your energy levels drop by the second session, but it means a lot to me so I’m very happy and I feel good.” Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed in an interview with Channel 4 News how Salah, Mane and Can maintain their faith while being professional footballers. Klopp said: “Salah is a Muslim. He’s doing all the things that Muslims do. “Before a game, washing procedures and stuff like that. “We come a minute or two minutes early in the dressing room so that he can be ready for the game. It’s him, Sadio and Emre Can.” Emre Can and Sadio Mane face the same dilemma Klopp went on to acknowledge what an important symbol Salah has become in a world full of conflict and anti-Muslim bigotry The Liverpool boss added: “It’s fantastic. It’s exactly what we need in these times. “To see this wonderful young man, full of joy, full of love, full of friendship, full of everything, in a world where we all struggle to understand all the things happening around this planet. “Mo is the perfect ambassador for Egypt, for the whole Arab world.” Salah’s high profile will put extra pressure on his decision about Ramadan. Entrepreneurs are cashing in on his success by mass-producing Ramadan lanterns in his image. One Saudi Arabian newspaper has reported that a senior local official is proposing to give Salah a piece of land in Islam’s most holy city, Mecca, as reward for being named PFA Player of the Year. Fahd al-Rowky said: “There are several choices regarding giving this piece of land. “The way to go will be determined by captain Mohamed Salah as well as the Saudi system. “If the Saudi system allows the land to be owned by Salah, he will be given a piece of land in holy Mecca outside Haram. The other option will be to have a mosque built on the land in his name.” Source: thesun.co.uk Lalasticlacla Mynd44

HigherEd:Why are you shifting the goal post ![]() You accused Northeners of building Mosques and funding pilgrimage with government money. You also claimed that such things does not happen in the South ![]() A BALANT LIE ! I corrected you by providing proof of Akwa Ibom government building Mega Church and Lagos state funding pilgrimage. Instead of you to admit that you posted a BALANT LIE in your first post, you started talking about missionaries. Trying to justify Akwa Ibom govt. Spending billions of naira...government money in building mega church ![]() How low can you get ![]() There is something called...Separation of Church and State. Government is a secular body. A secular body should not build mega church with state money. IT IS WRONG. Call a spade a spade and stop trying to justify medocrity. How many youths are employed in Akwa Ibom state ![]() How many pensioners have been paid ![]() What about infractructural development ![]() But a state government is building mega church with tax payers money and you are trying to justify it ![]() IT IS WRONG. You claim that churches have done more for Akwa Ibom than the state government ![]() Where did you get your statistics ![]() Prove it ![]() Or did you make that up from your head ![]() Stop trying to justify medocrity. Nigeria is neither a christian nor muslim country. Nigeria is secular. Therefore....state government building Mosques and Churches with state money is 100% wrong. Admit it. IT IS WRONG. You cannot bash Northern states for building Mosques with government money and then turn around and applaud Akwa Ibom for spending government money on mega church. That is sheer HYPOCRISY. You are being sentimental to your religion. Drop sentiments and apply common sense. |

HigherEd:Some of these things you accuse muslims of have been done by christians in the south. Akwa Ibom state government is building an 8500 capacity mega church. Lagos state once funded christians pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Islam is not the only problem. Christianity has contributed it's own share of problems. Both religions are guilty. Nigeria is better off without religion. We need total secularisation.

Liverpool should replace Coutinho. Our midfield is litterd with many central midfielders. The only creative midfielder we have (Milner and Lalana) cant be considered to be long term options. Milner is almost 33 and Lalana has injury problems. Nabil Fekir would be a dream signing. He is the only realistic signing that can fill the void left by Coutinho. We cound also sign a partner for Keita. I dont trust Henderson.... and Emre Can is about to join Juventus. That leaves us with only Wijnaldum and an injured Chamberlain. I hope we sign Jorginho. Ruben Neves is another option but i dont want a potential player. We need a proven player and that man is Jorginho. Modric is about to leave Madrid. We could make a swoop. Finally, we need a partner for Van Dijk. Lovren is good but inconsistent and prone to errors. Koulibaly is my dream signing. That man is a rock in Napoli defence. I hope we sign Allison too. Mig's future at Liverpool looks bleak and Karuis needs a stonger competition. Allison will do. YNWA And remember, Klopp, dont let Madrid get their filthy shirt on Salah. Salah is going nowhere. He remains at Liverpool. |
shankara7:Salah is no flash in the pan. He is not inconsistent. He is not an on and off player. Ever since he hit the ground running in September, he has never gone 3 games without registering a goal or an assist. Dude averages a goal/assist per game. That is consistency. If 32 goals in 36 games is not consistency. Then i dont know what consistency is. |
shankara7:Salah is not a striker. His job is to help the main striker. Unless you're Messi or CR7 no one expects 44 goals in a season from a winger! Oh did i mention in addition to his goals, Salah also has 15 assist this season. Even Hazard,Willian,Sanchez never hit 40 in a season. Salah suprised everyone. The main strikers in PL -Lukaku, Kane, Morata, Lacazete, Aguero were left in the dust by Salah in the race for golden boot. He's the highest goal scorer in Europe this season after Messi and CR7. And he's not a striker. That is amazing! |
Ready Player One 9/10 If you are a gamer you're gonna love this movie. I love the concept. Crazy world tho ![]() Steven Speilberg never disappoints. I dey look for the novel. Can someone tell me where i can find the novel ![]() |

Ishilove:Come on, its been nearly 3 MONTHS since that movie was released. 3 fucking months. Perhaps i should have waited 9 months before dropping a complete review (with spoilers) ![]() Btw, i know that some people have not seen the movie. But that has nothing to do with me. I heard that the clear blu ray version is out. So if anyone has not seen it, then its because they dont want to. Or maybe they are not interested in the movie. Or maybe they wanna wait another 2 months before seeing the movie. |

Black Panther 5/10. So i had the chance to see Black Panther again. The first time i saw the movie at the cinema i rated it 6/10. Today i have reduced it to 5/10. Black Panther is so overated and it didn't live up to the crazy hype. Marvel fanboys might come for my head. But the truth is even after seeing the movie nearly 3 times, i still cant get myself to like it. I can point out several flaws in that movie but let's start with the good part shall we ![]() The good thing about Black Panther is the way African cultural elements was potrayed. The movie is based in Africa so i was expecting it and Marvel didn't dissapoint. They put up a good effort in expressing the aesthetic authencity of African elements in this movie. Another thing i liked about Black Panther was Andy Serkis (Ulysses Klaue) and Michael B Jordan (Killmonger) Andy's acting was superb. He was the only one who seemed like he wasn't reading from a script and he got genuine laughs out of me. Michael's acting was a close second. He brought Killmonger to life unlike Boseman whoose character was very dull and boring. What i didn't like in BLACK PANTHER Now lets get down to the bad aspects of this overhyped movie. 1. Predictable and Poor storyline: The story was extremely predictable and to be honest I don't know if the most virtuous resolution was reached in the climax. Michael B Jordan's character had fairly reasonable intentions for wanting to kill the Black Panther and take his place in Wakanda as he had been abandoned, with seemingly no family, to live in the ghettos of Oakland. However, his whole plan to give advanced Wakandan weaponry to every African person in the world so they could kill and overthrow people in power who weren't African was extremely "on-the-chin" in terms of its narrative motivations within the current climate. It wasn't remotely clever or nuanced and really unbalanced his character, his motivations were understandable but his plan was moronic. Additionally, who didn't see Black Panther surviving his fall? Who didn't see the Gorilla tribe coming to the rescue at the end? The entire movie was so bland and predictable I wanted it to be over well before the end. 2. LACK OF CHARACTER VALUE I didn't fall in love with any major character except Ulysses and Killmonger. Most part of the movie focused on T'challa but in the end i found his character very boring and dull. Forest Whitaker's character was shallow. I barely knew him. So i didn't give a Bleep when he died. In this movie they spend maybe 30 seconds building up the characters, if even that. They just assume that we will have feelings to any character who pops up in the movie - BUT WE DON'T. If anyone fights, almost dies and in the end dies anyways we just do not care since we do not get to know the person. Forrest Whitaker acts is but off yet you do not care if he dies... WHO is he, tell us something about him before please (!). 3. POOR ACTING The acting was very wooden - Not a lot to say here really, some really poor line delivery from the cast across the board except for Andy Serkis and Michael B Jordan. No one was particularly charismatic, the main character for instance was extremely boring. 4. POOR SCRIPT The script was very robotic - This ties into the poor acting, but perhaps as a result of the script, some of the actors never really had a chance to bring their characters to life. 5. T'CHALA Basically throughout the entire movie you never really learn anything or see anything of the Black Panther's character, he basically moves from one place to another showing no emotion and just either smashes things or asks people questions. Apparently the character is supposed to be very intelligent, while it was probably a narrative choice, the Black Panther in this movie seemed like an emotionless Jarhead whose only really characteristic was that he get nervous around his girlfriend.. 6. POOR ACTION SEQUENCE Apart from the impressive car chase and the challenge stuff, every other fight scene in this movie was average and lacklustre. the action in the movie is terrible and not remotely on the level of the well-choreographed fighting in say Captain America Winter Soldier - please for the love of god show someone getting punched or kicked without having to cut the shot 5 times. 7. POOR CGI The CGI in this movie is terrible. Did any one notice the Rhinos ![]() Very poor CGI. the CGI was awful in the action scenes: whenever someone was even prodded, they would go flying across the screen in the most outlandish fashion. the CGI on Black Panther felt extremely overused and was surprisingly quite bad. 8. SOUNDTRACK The impressive Kendrick Lamar curated soundtracks barely feature in this movie. The orchestral score is also quite average, coming in strong at weird moments and being quite out of place in certain places. BLACK PANTHER 5/10 |
oyetpel:Kanye West is wrong. Slavery was a choice ![]() Choice Okay! But whose choice Whose decisions![]() In this discourse, consulting history and of course the understanding of human psychology, and also considering the different parties involved, it is wrong to pick pastel and a board and proceed to paint the picture Kanye has painted. Did certain, nay, many Africans sell their own people into slavery, of their own will ![]() Yes. Did the slave traders buy them of their own will ![]() Yes. Did the unfortunate slaves choose to be sold into slavery, to be carted away to a foreign land, in chains ![]() No! There were choices alright, but the party most affected in this period of history definitely didn't have the luxury of choice. The only choice they had was to commit suicide, or remain in chains, which is really no choice at all, for most of human population. |

ominilongest:The last time Madrid lost a Champions league final was in 1981..... And that was against LIVERPOOL!!! |
maynia:Ofcourse I saw that. And Juve proved that Madrid is not invincible in UCL ![]() |
oooduancalmdown:My prayer is that Madrid should underate Liverpool. I pray that Zidane and his boys will underate us. I hope they compare us with Getafe and Malaga. I hope they underate Liverpool well well. I pray they write Liverpool off 2 weeks before final. That will be their greatest mistake ![]() |
oooduancalmdown:You forgot to add... That scary front three ALONE has scored more goals than all the teams in UCL this season. ![]() |
ominilongest:Last time I checked Madrid's almighty defence were trailing 3-0 at the hands of Juve. ![]() Also in la liga top 4 Madrid has the worst defence. ![]() |
ominilongest:The final is an open game. Anything can happen. Don't write off any team. I remember Man City has a better mid field than Liverpool but they collapsed. Roma also has a better mid field than Liverpool but they collapsed. That Madrid mid field failed to stop Tottenham, Juve even small Leganes. Anything can happen in the finals. It's an open game. Madrid is not invincible. Their UCL winning streak will eventually come to an end. |
ominilongest:Liverpool has a better front three than Madrid. Liverpool has the best attack in UCL this season. That deadly front three has scored the highest goals in UCL this season. So dont write them off. Liverpool have a vulnerable defence just like Madrid. But they can outscore Madrid with that front three. |
crazygod:This Liverpool team can upset Madrid 100% but not with this perfomance. I would never write off a team cuz of one bad performance. Last time I checked the almighty Madrid was trailing 3-0 at Bernabeu at the hands of Juve. One thing I learnt this year is that Italian teams don't give up. The final is a 100% open game. Anything can happen. If Madrid underate Liverpool cuz of this one bad performance, then Liverpool will overwhelm them. |

So which insufficient knowledge are you blabbing about ![]() Someone who Yahweh spoke directly to had insufficient knowledge ![]() WTF He also had insufficient knowledge when he gave the people the ten commandments. He also had insufficient knowledge when he spoke to Pharoah about Yahweh's instructions. Someone that heard from Yahweh directly had insufficient knowledge ![]() Can you prove that Moses had insufficient knowledge ![]() Defend Yahweh all you want but the truth is...He is a bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser and psychopath. This is not just about Moses. Read everything in old testament and you'll see Yahweh's true colours. He is a monster. He murdered innocent babies and little children, he commited genocide so why should i be suprised about his hatred for gays ![]() Na his way be that. |
damosky12:Who gave the law to Moses ![]() Go and read Old Testament. Moses did not wake up and start writing laws upandan. Yahweh gave him instructions. Yahweh was the one who gave rules and regulations as to how the isrealites should live their lives. Moses then wrote down the laws. So stop blaming Moses for Yahweh's stupid and barbaric laws. Last time i checked Yahweh's words never change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will not pass away. Mathew 24:35. |
damosky12:Last time i checked Yahweh is the christian god. Moses did not command people to stone gays. Yahweh himself, yes the same Yahweh you worship, asked people to slaughter gays. |
