The economy that was crawling has now been chocked by the CBN.

dyera:
Nonsense, if something like that happen and you do not change to a different bank for cashless payment, then I don't know what to say to you. Something like that can never happen with fidelity bank.

I had never had such issues before with my bank but there is always a first time............you'd never see it coming.

dyera:
Who told you transfer is how you buy things cashless. Card payment is cashless payment not phone transfer. Next time use POS machine to transfer the money to the seller.

This and many more is proof that Nigerians deserve to experience this cash confiscation. Most businesses that ought to have POS machine to enable cashless payment don't have it. The government have to confiscate cash to force them. Even now most of them have not gone to get POS machine for their business.

POS has debited me even when the transaction failed and even printed a receipt reversed but it took nearly a month for me to see the cash.

This is the legacy PMB would leave behind. Under his watch Nigerians are buying Naira with Naira.

People are sleeping at banks ATMs just to get N5k.
People are trekking aimlessly when they have money in the bank.

Under PMB na everybody dey chop suffer.

To enter the banking hall is a struggle.....even when you succeed you find out that there little is no cash. The pos operators have disappeared and the few that have small cash would charge you outrageous sums. Bank apps are frustratingly slow and if they open at all you would keep praying that you are not debited while the other person is not credited.

How can we be buying naira with Naira in Nigeria.

seborrhic:
Why you sounding you just taking it as something normal.
100k of your own hard earned money and you are not sounding disturbed!
Maybe that's why there doesn't seem to be social media commotion about it,people seem to be taking it in their strides, like if it's resolved good,if not, money don go,na to hussle to replace am!!

If you know how many productive hours I've wasted trying to get the banks to refund my money. Customer care line you would hear you are the 47th customer your wait time is 27minutes......after waiting for 15mins the call cuts off then you start again. At the banking hall I was told to wait for 7working days. After which they kept saying they have escalated it and it would soon be resolved. I should check back in 3days etc. It's getting to 2 weeks now nothing.

I have over 100k debit from 2 transactions that didn't go through. GTB and Uba. It's so frustrating,

Go cashless
Go cashless

Where is the network?
Putting the cart before the horse.

What rubbish.........why waste everyone's time.

Announce the bloody results lets get on with our lives.

Jack500:
Is still a win for APC, because those units are polling units that APC is not strong before.

That's the idea.....cause chaos destroy ballot boxes in your weak areas and the poling unit will be cancelled.

Besides this can you also tell us how many other laws you've broken during your tenure?

IgbuduMonkey:
Where is Aisha?

Frying akara.

Do people still deposit money in Banks

Na everybody go chop breakfast.

Not anymore.....however we await the sc judgement

AmotekunSW:
Meffy is behaving like someone under a curse.

He is not under a curse.....he himself is a curse.

You want to build a new house, just as you start the foundation you demolish the old house you are currently staying... Is that not madness.

There is not enough new notes in circulation yet you stop people from using the old notes. CBN governor should go to the streets and markets and see what is going on.. People getting stranded because they can't access the new notes.

Peterobi90:
Its been almost 2 weeks after CBN initial deadline.. i used to be addicted to POS centres, but now, i can't remember when last i saw a naira note, but i have been making transactions and surviving...

We would all adjust eventually, Good change comes at a price..

- Open multiple bank account
- Get ATM cards
- Download banking mobile apps for transfers
- Get POS device for your outfits
- Move to the next seller if the previous says "cash only"

Of what use is you not learning about technology, its not like the world would go back to the stone ages..

What about people living where there is no network. Like The bush markets......how would they transact business.

Prophetic!

wasiubello:
I guess that is a mere speculation, i. Just spoke with two of my friends in Abuja and they attested that nobody is accepting it in. Abuja . Which area of Abuja are you

From Aya none of the cabs I used rejected it. At gudu market I've bought items and paid with old 1000 notes.....

People are using it very well here in Abuja.

After queueing to get a miserable N2000 from the lone pos operator with cash, I now have to queue again to get fuel.

Injera:
THE cash on you at any given time is really the money you own. The cash in bank is not your own because you don't have full control over it as this times have shown.
We are gradually being enslaved and people cannot see it. Emefiele misled Buhari to implement his cashless policy by mopping the cash present in the economy and drastically reducing the notes in circulation. Our rights is gradually disappearing and like the proverbial frog we are gradually being cooked.

Instead of promoting the cashless policy the CBN has succeeded in turning people away from banks. Many have vowed never to keep money in the bank again.

juman:
Seven days is too long.
Many dont have food to eat.
Businesses are down.

Its matter of life and death for many people.

He doesn't think that way, it doesn't concern him.

My workers can't withdraw cash to come to work. We have to close today to look for cash. There are several other businesses with the same challenge.

Buhari says he will act in 7 days time.

It's everywhere....Kano, Kaduna , Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi.....just name it. People are suffering. POS operators are going out of business.

No cash anywhere.

At kano yesterday I struggled to get money from the few POS still operating. The bank app is now as sluggish as a snail.

The country is grinding to a halt.

AcetylC:
No sir, systemic corruption is sitting gidigba. Don't be deceived, without subsidy, pump price shouldn't be more than #500/L based on our actual consumption per day (not the inflated one by thiefs). If you buy it now at 570, then expect to by it at 1000 when subsidy is removed.

I hope so......cause it's not going to be funny buying fuel at over N500.

Subsidy is gradually being phased out.

I bought it N340 this morning in Abuja.

Jocdon:
No wonder they say na children full nairaland Bayi

Can you imagine!
