Politics › Buhari's Mistakes And Blunders In Political Appointments by blackpanda(op): 9:53am On Mar 01, 2022 |
This is not a thread to hate on Mr President whom I still believe had the most genuine intentions during the 2015 elections. But in my view, most of buhari's vision were jettisoned based on the caliber of persons he (was forced to) appoint to political offices.
In my view, the following are some of the worst:
Note I won't even bother with ministers of state (except petroleum) because they are practically unuseful in administration.
1. Minister of FCT Mohammed Bello
For me this is one of the worst so far. Abuja Fact has practically become an eyesore. The Minister seems clueless with zero record of any achievement to show since 2015. No transport system at all, dirty unkempt environment, dubious land transactions, zero initiative or innovation, I can go on
2. Minister of Health Osahie Ehanire He has basically spent his tenure fighting one political appointees or the other. He more or less a footmat who is ready to dance to the tune of his appointors. I don't see any innovation in the health sector
3. Minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola This minister has been plagued with one form of financial impropriety or the other. It's a mystery how he has managed to last for so long in the cabinet. Most of the agencies under interior have basically been looted to stupor. Corruption is the order of the day
4. Minister of Mines and Steel Mr Adegbite Another useless appointee on my view. He has not recorded success in anything since his appointment. Mines and Steel which ought to be one of Nigeria's cash cow owing to our large mineral deposits and gold, has basically become redundant.
5. Minister of Science Ogbonnaya Onu There's been nothing scientific about this appointment. The ministry appears to be unaware of their responsibilities. Again no innovation or initiative taken. Zero achievements
6. Minister of Petroleum Timipre Sylva This one is just a toothless bulldog. But it's not really his fault. The ministry which is supposed to oversee NNPC is domiciled in one tiny cubicle inside the NNPC towers. So obviously the Minister of State has no say against his landlord. He basically relies on his aganvies for funding the activities of the ministry, so the oversight is non existent. The GMD is way bigger than the Minister.
These are the ones I can think of for now. And it's so sad how they have let Nigerians down |

BSsniffer: Referendum only creates confusion for those who are ok with the rotten system, and when I mean representation I mean representation for all ethnic and sub ethnic groups and not representation made out of state creation in abuja, it also means equal representation either you're a majority tribe or a minority tribe. If the system you claim fully represents all parts of Nigeria we won't be having issues about the region a president is coming from. And "moral decadence, greed and corruption" are results or symptoms of a larger problem which is the system or current structure that gives way to those symptoms..... honestly speaking, it takes only common sense to understand this. You that is complaining about president, which president did your region unanimously present that was rejected Politics is a game of numbers. If u don't have the numbers then u lobby with those who have. But when u keep hating and opposing everybody then later cry that they didn't support u, u only have yourself to blame. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: For Africa To Progress, We Must Let Go Of The Berlin Maps. by blackpanda: 6:49am On Mar 01, 2022 |
BSsniffer: You can make your point without quoting and cancelling out my post.....not all tribes are totally homogeneous and same goes for the Yoruba's.......we share 95% the same language, similar values and customs. But we have absolutely less than 5% similarity with igbos, hausa/fulani or any group across the Niger..... similarities may exist with our close neighbors like benins and nupes but it's purely a case of geographically factor as both tribes have obviously distinct cultures....and anyway a referendum of the nigerian people should be the deciding factor, let nigerians actually decide how nigeria should be structured. Plus it doesn't matter how many ethnic groups are in Nigeria but the need for equal represention of each of those groups. You are saying two opposite things. Referendum doesn't solve anything, it just creates more confusion. And besides Nigeria has more than enough representation. You have almost 600 representatives and ministers covering 36 states, every appointment and even employment in nigeria is based on equal representation of all the regions and states. Every state has lovely govt and house of assembly representing them. All commissioners of FGN agencies are picked based on equal representation. Representation is not or problem, moral decadence, greed and corruption are the problem. |

FamTomx2: You created an unreasonable thread with a myopic mind set, you people love discrimination a lot and some are still believing in one unity & one Nigeria.
I think the time for BIAFRA republic is near. With this your last statement now, how is my thread unreasonable U claim u want Biafra but still obsessed with Nigerian govt. Why didn't your Biafra go and rescue your people?? Why run to Nigerian embassy Lmao |

I am surprised to see those that have been calling Nigeria "zoo" for years now begging the same Nigerian govt to go and rescue their children from Ukraine. Am I missing something What happened to ipob and ESN powerful men. Their power no reach Ukraine ni How come all of a sudden Nigeria govt has turned to their saviour their idol in Finland couldn't go and save his people ni |
Foreign Affairs › Re: For Africa To Progress, We Must Let Go Of The Berlin Maps. by blackpanda: 3:14am On Mar 01, 2022 |
[s] BSsniffer: The major (modern) problem with africa started with the Berlin conference and the map drawing by europeans, ethnic groups were separated and joined with other ethnic groups that share no common language or ideology with them...
From the English to the Germans, every ethnic group in Europe has their representing nation and no group is forced into nationhood with another group, why then should a Yoruba man like me share a nation with an Igbo or a fulani or vice versa.....it honestly cannot and won't work for anyone, sub Saharan Africa will not progress untill every ethnic nation is recognized and given the right to their future. It's either we restructure as a nation or have a referendum and each ethnic group stays on their own. The hausa/fulani wil succeed as if they have their own nation of theirs, same as the yorubas, igbos, Benin kingdom, ijaws, efiks and other groups.
The current structures in Africa isn't currently paying anyone and that's because they're largely colonial structures not meant to pay us but pay the westerners....if you disagree with my points kindly state a better solution. Thanks [/s] I don't think u know what u are saying. Nigeria has over 200 ethnic groups, so how will ur special "map" work Even the Yoruba u are claiming are not homogenous. Our histories are all intertwined and separation is impossible. Forget Biafra noisemakers. |

Flier: Another bad news for Putin is that his attack on ukraine has successfully woke up a very powerful Nation that went to sleep and hiding because of Shame and disgrace brought on it by Adolt Hitler. A fully functioning Germany can take on Russia alone or defend the whole of Europe because this country does not make substandard weapon or scared of war This is what America has been craving for, finally Germany is up and functional. What does this even mean |

- Grocery Stores shelves are going empty which means business is not striving because of Inflation and people are not buying as they should because there is no Money (this is familiar, Bubu style)
- There was peace in Afghanistan I.e A Single American soldier was not kill for 17 months when Trump started talking with the Taliban chief. (Trump showed the taliban Chief the picture of the chief house and encourage him to take peace) but Biden Handover Afghanistan to Taliban
- Putin Could not enter Ukraine or any country close to Russia under trump but he is taking Over Ukraine as You're reading this just like he took over Cremia under Obama and Georgia under George W Bush
