A few weeks or months when the sanctions kick in and start biting the Russian population, they'll get rid of Putin themselves, even the Olighacks are now collateral damage, they are now fully separated from their wealth because of sanctions and to make matters worse for them, the wives and kids are part of the sanctions.

Russia still has the $70billion energy contracts with the west.

From what is going on, Russia will eventually take over Ukraine. My opinion is that Putin is copying what Israel did in Jerusalem: sack the place and repopulate with your own people.


Not that I support Russia (the attack on Ukraine is not short of genocide) but America and the west are just hypocrites. When israel did the same thing to Palestine, america rose up in full support. America invaded Afghanistan, France invaded Libya and till tomorrow all french speaking African countries are slaves of France. So the west lack any moral justifications for sanctioning Russia.

Good afternoon nairalanders, I will try to be brief.

I graduated 2018 as a 25 years old boy, went for service in 2019 and started working at a private secondary school as a teacher. The pay was poor and i began job hunting with about 30 different CV's for different job positions.

To cut the long story short, I got an interview invite for a managerial position in a hotel that I have no idea of. A week to the interview date, I did my homework and research about the job details, prepared for the interview and I pass... Ever since, I have been doing well.

The only challenge i have is the manner at which people get sacked at my place of work. As a matter of fact, myself and 2 other line managers are the remaining one out of about 13 of us employed in July 2020 and the fear of being sacked has made me to keep on with my job hunting game.

Now I am 29, with a slim stature and a childish/female-like voice. With the power of my CV, I have been invited for interview by the 2 best international brand of my industry Marriott and Hilton, but the moment I show up, the first thing I use to hear is are you sure you are Mr ****, then after the whole interview,they will be like; 'you are good but still small'

Now I am depressed and I have been trying to hit the gym to see if there can be a change in my size.

My question is; what has age got to do with leadership, potentials and capability? And what will you advise?

I understand how you feel because its the same thing i am going through. I work in one of the most key government Ministries. At 35years of age the entire Ministry knows my name. infact many people tell me how the Ministry may not be able to function optimally had it been i didnt work there. But when it comes to juicy postings, highly beneficial responsibilities, i get sidelined. they keep chanting "wait your turn". The most annoying thing is that those old mama and papa who get these opportunities will still turn around to give me the work to do. The are old, lazy and totally not ready to do any work. They only want to go on foreign trips, eat money and dont come to work

Ukraine

US president recently told Ukrainian president zelensky that America can't grant his request to declare no-flight zone in Ukraine because they will not want to involve in a direct conflict with Russia. This means Zelensky erroneously believed that US and NATO will attack Russia if Ukraine get into war with Russia.

He refused to acknowledged genuine Russian security concerns if NATO is allowed in Ukraine. He wanted to negotiate with Russia but not ready to shift ground meaning he is not aware of Russia position in the global politics.

Zelensky was professional comedian without any experience in leadership.

Nigerians must not fall for the tricks of not too young to rule most especially at the Federal level. Our youth must start their political career at the local government level, then gradually to state and then federal with this, they would acquire prerequisite experience. A political career from local government, state and before one gets to federal level one would have been closed to 60.

Most of our leaders that we called old men today started as young politicians.
Most importantly, experience and knowledge matters in leadership and not just age.

I don't think you know what u are saying. Ukrainian President has demonstrated exemplary and exceptional leadership. Few could have been as brave as he is.

Btw Russia doesn't really care whether Ukraine joins NATO or not. Putin wants USSR back. He already took Crimea and wants to do same to the entire ukraine

Ukraine would've postponed this war diplomatically, 'cos she is not ripe yet to go to war with Russia. Ukraine is fighting a defensive war. Since it started on Thursday, has Ukraine being able to fire a rocket/missile into Russia?. Has any infrastructure in Russia suffered any blast? If not, Ukraine should pls submit and plan themselves better, my prayer is with them though.

This is not a thread to hate on Mr President whom I still believe had the most genuine intentions during the 2015 elections. But in my view, most of buhari's vision were jettisoned based on the caliber of persons he (was forced to) appoint to political offices.


In my view, the following are some of the worst:

Note I won't even bother with ministers of state (except petroleum) because they are practically unuseful in administration.


1. Minister of FCT Mohammed Bello

For me this is one of the worst so far. Abuja Fact has practically become an eyesore. The Minister seems clueless with zero record of any achievement to show since 2015. No transport system at all, dirty unkempt environment, dubious land transactions, zero initiative or innovation, I can go on

2. Minister of Health Osahie Ehanire
He has basically spent his tenure fighting one political appointees or the other. He more or less a footmat who is ready to dance to the tune of his appointors. I don't see any innovation in the health sector


3. Minister of interior Rauf Aregbesola
This minister has been plagued with one form of financial impropriety or the other. It's a mystery how he has managed to last for so long in the cabinet. Most of the agencies under interior have basically been looted to stupor. Corruption is the order of the day


4. Minister of Mines and Steel Mr Adegbite
Another useless appointee on my view. He has not recorded success in anything since his appointment. Mines and Steel which ought to be one of Nigeria's cash cow owing to our large mineral deposits and gold, has basically become redundant.


5. Minister of Science Ogbonnaya Onu
There's been nothing scientific about this appointment. The ministry appears to be unaware of their responsibilities. Again no innovation or initiative taken. Zero achievements


6. Minister of Petroleum Timipre Sylva
This one is just a toothless bulldog. But it's not really his fault. The ministry which is supposed to oversee NNPC is domiciled in one tiny cubicle inside the NNPC towers. So obviously the Minister of State has no say against his landlord. He basically relies on his aganvies for funding the activities of the ministry, so the oversight is non existent. The GMD is way bigger than the Minister.


These are the ones I can think of for now. And it's so sad how they have let Nigerians down

Referendum only creates confusion for those who are ok with the rotten system, and when I mean representation I mean representation for all ethnic and sub ethnic groups and not representation made out of state creation in abuja, it also means equal representation either you're a majority tribe or a minority tribe. If the system you claim fully represents all parts of Nigeria we won't be having issues about the region a president is coming from. And "moral decadence, greed and corruption" are results or symptoms of a larger problem which is the system or current structure that gives way to those symptoms..... honestly speaking, it takes only common sense to understand this.

You that is complaining about president, which president did your region unanimously present that was rejected Politics is a game of numbers. You can make your point without quoting and cancelling out my post.....not all tribes are totally homogeneous and same goes for the Yoruba's.......we share 95% the same language, similar values and customs. But we have absolutely less than 5% similarity with igbos, hausa/fulani or any group across the Niger..... similarities may exist with our close neighbors like benins and nupes but it's purely a case of geographically factor as both tribes have obviously distinct cultures....and anyway a referendum of the nigerian people should be the deciding factor, let nigerians actually decide how nigeria should be structured. Plus it doesn't matter how many ethnic groups are in Nigeria but the need for equal represention of each of those groups.

You are saying two opposite things. Referendum doesn't solve anything, it just creates more confusion. And besides Nigeria has more than enough representation. You have almost 600 representatives and ministers covering 36 states, every appointment and even employment in nigeria is based on equal representation of all the regions and states. Every state has lovely govt and house of assembly representing them. All commissioners of FGN agencies are picked based on equal representation. Representation is not or problem, moral decadence, greed and corruption are the problem.
