In reference to th car thief example u used, if I go to a car stand and buy a car and the original particulars of d car is given to me. Common sense should tell u dat IF it is found out the car was stolen and I can provide a valid receipt of purchase plus all the original document of the car, in a sane society I ve committed no crime. The worst case scenario is to apprehend the thief and appeal to me to return d car and be reimbursed with plenty of appologies

Don't be silly...It the car was stolen, there is no way the particulars given to you will be original. Remember the caveat emptor in business law....Buyers beware. If you buy something stolen without doing due diligence, it will be difficult if not impossible to recover your loss. Best case scenario is that you will avoid jail.

This election is a litmus test of the kind of government we should expect in the next 3 years plus. Sylva is a desperate criminal who even harassed party chieftains in the person of Oshiomole, yet APC an even more desperate party gave him a ticket. This shows the party has little or no ideals.

Now they are receiving the criminal decampees from PDP to consolidate their position all in the name of politics.

Presently they source their crude through illegal means, although the numerous oil spills in the region also supply them with steady crude, they can be compelled to get their crude legally and pay for it even if it is at a cheaper rate. They must become registered legal entities with the Corporate Affairs commission so they can access loans from banks, so they can expand in future.. If Government can consider this type of arrangement the positives will be employment for a whole lot of young people, increase in revenue base for the states, a cleaner environment because they will no longer operate at their crude level and would have to adhere to industry standards, Imagine we have just 10 of these type of modular small scale refineries in the Niger Delta region, employing graduates of engineering and others, paying taxes to the government and cleaning up the environment. The ripple effects will even reduce criminality in the region, with time these types of refineries can be improved upon and will even help to develop our own home grown technology.
Building a standard Refinery is expensive, even major IOL are reluctant to invest in it, especially in a country like Nigeria where the industry is over regulated, These types of Modular refineries may be just the kind of home grown solution we need to wean ourselves dependence on finished imported petroleum products. They will complement the standard refineries in the country and as time goes on, may also grow to become standards in their own right.

Clearly you do not understand the dangers of running such refineries. If you did, under no condition would you want those things legalised. Your introduction "so called illegal refineries" already show your bias.

A barrel of crude contains about 6 major products...meanwhile most of them can still be used as raw materials for many more products. What these illegal refineries produce is only diesel. They do not have the technology to produce PMS due to the technicalities involved. AGO and a small quantity of DPK can be produced as direct derivatives of the distillation of crude but it's only these products. Others are wasted and worse still are dumped in the environment thereby contaminating it.

I am totally again reducing standards just to favour the people....This encourages laziness. Standards should be kept high and we are to work hard to meet them.
