I think it was done so that when your name is typed, it will show in your mentions. Cos they noticed that if you have a name that has space, it won't show in your mentions.

Mzmariah, how's married life treating you?

Seun, you have been tagged.

Nairaland General › Re: Brt Did Not Kill Any Soldier -lagbus by blank(f): 11:33am On Jul 05, 2014
My opinion is that the soldier ran into the BRT bus which had broken down on the road early in the morning. If he hadn't driven on the BRT lane, he would still be alive.
Nairaland General › Re: Brt Did Not Kill Any Soldier -lagbus by blank(f): 11:21am On Jul 05, 2014
wagazala: The fact that it's illegal doesn't give a brt bus driver the right to end ones life. The bus drivers are known to be reckless. Even when you want to cross from service lane to the express, these BRT buses show you no mercy.
The reason they made it illegal is to stop such accidents. If we value our lives, we won't expose ourselves to undue harm.

A BRT bus has cleared me off the road because I didn't get off the crossing fast enough due to traffic. Now, I don't cross except the road is free or no BRT bus is close.

Also, cos of the weather, the driver may not have seen the soldier.
Nairaland General › Re: Brt Did Not Kill Any Soldier -lagbus by blank(f): 11:39pm On Jul 04, 2014
doctokwus: Dis explanation even lends credence to d story bc d press release looks too fabricated to b real:"ur men went to tow ur bus by 10pm,area boys chased u away and u returnd by 5am".Y ddnt dey come back dat same nite wt police excort knowin how dangerous d broken down bus cud b to other motorists.
Why was the soldier riding an okada on that road? It's illegal. Why was he on BRT lane, it's illegal.

Don't know what time the accident happened but by past 7am, there was no traffic. When I passed, I saw the bike behind the BRT on the BRT lane and just a handful of people had gathered.

If this story is true, why did the soldiers pursue the driver into palmgroove estate and then beat up a security man?

curiobling: @blank whats the situation over there, have you received alert from vfs lekki?
Funnily enough, i got the alert today and went to pick it up. The VFS centre was like a ghost town. Just skeletal services. Those "touts" that usually collect N300 had no business as the security were making the money parking the few people around.

And we all got our visas so that is off my mind.

Once in a while, i take a weekend off. Away from kids, husband, family, work. I go to like a spa, eat all the junk food i want to eat and read books especially detective books and just lounge. I don't even receive phone calls except just to check on the progress at home. My husband is not a big fan but i need to be able to decompress after so much stress. I still go on family holidays and also go on romantic weekends with my husband. However, the best time is just me, my jacuzzi, sweet red wine, snacks and a good book. Heavenly.

That is me sha. Not everyone is the same.

3sha4lyf: Hey, look what I found on the FAQs @ https://www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk/Home/ViewFAQ
I have missed my appointment, what can I do now?
If you made your appointment through one of our partners directly, i.e. VFS, you can rearrange your appointment. Please see the guidance for your appointment country at: https://www.gov.uk/find-a-visa-application-centre . If you made your appointment within your online application you will need to make a new application.

You may not nee to pay again if you make the new application via the same account you used to make the missed appointment application. This is what I think. I may be right or like blank says, I may be wrong. Just try waiting 24-48 hrs, if nothing appears, make a fresh app on the same account. If it asks you to pay, you pay. Otherwise, you just reschedule.
I may be wrong about the payment. Just know they said you have to do a fresh application and maybe I assumed that a fresh payment will have to be made.

newbie2014: Its been over 2 wks i applied for visiting visa at lekki. Pls anyone in my shoes ?
Mine is over a month now. I just saw online where they said that VFS in Lekki has ceased to be the agency for UK. It is now one other company as from 1st of July.

Has anyone applied via the new company? What's the fate of those who applied through VFS? What's the new procedure?

orelia: Hello
Does anybody have an idea if the VFS in Ikeja follow the appointment slot when an application is made online
I was meant to submit my visit visa this morning and for one reason won’t be able to make it, I have checked online and there’s no where to change the appointment
Please I’ll appreciate any information with recent experience of submission at the centre in Ikeja centre
When submitting online, there is a place where it states that if you do not submit on the day you have scheduled and did not reschedule, then you have forfeited your application fee and would have to do it all again as well as pay a new fee.

However, those at the gate may let you in, don't know sha.

You can take hairfinity, it's a natural supplement that helps hair grow. Then you can start rubbing Jamaican Black Castor Oil. The effects are not immediate but you will see a change from a week.

Phones › Re: Aviate - A Must Have App For Every Tecno User by blank(f): 3:26pm On Jul 01, 2014
vowiski: Nothing has got me really fulfilled playing with my Android Smartphone. I have had apps and deleted in almost equal succession and I don’t really get upbeat when any app is hyped like the world was coming to end in 2012 as predicted by the Mayan calendar. I have literally been disappointed by promises a lot of app developers make which later turn out to be a shameful let down.

In skepticism, I decided to try out Aviate in full knowledge that it would replace my Xperia home screen which I spent a good number of days customizing. Naturally, users have to adapt to the home screen like I did with my Xperia smartphone instead of it adapting to us. This of course, is the reason why I can’t call Aviate just an app, rather it qualifies as a “smart app,” that simplifies your smartphone without your help.
Home screen Like Never Before

aviate home screen
https://www.techrez.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Spaces.jpg

Installing the app for the first time with take you to several options where you have to accept permissions to make Aviate work like a charm. Within seconds, you are greeted with an ever intuitive home screen and you might notice a huge sign of relief almost immediately.

Instead of having a bunch of blank home screens and customizing same everytime, Aviate dramatically changes how we interact with our smartphones. A simple tap on the home button would reveal the main screen, which comes by default with a large image as well as five app icons carefully arranged at the bottom of the screen. Swiping to the right reveals a collection of your most used apps, also neatly organized in collection – Productivity, Social, Music, Entertainment and Productivity etc. Each of these special collection have an arrow icon on the upper right corner you can tap to reveal “apps not frequently” used.

home screen1

If you swipe even further to the right, you get to see pure awesomeness. All of your apps are arranged in alphabetical order. You see everything in one spot and you never need to crack your brain looking for where a particular app is located.
Aviate Spaces

This is ultimately where Aviate set itself apart. It reli.... culled from http://www.techrez.com/2014/07/yahoo-aviate-for-android-review.html
My HTC blinkfeed does all of these and more.

Ggee: Thanks for the information here. Helped with applying for the UK Visas.
I applied for Visa for self, wife and child on 16/June.
Got mail on 24/June that visa was process. Got passports back with Visa on 27/June via UPS.
My docs (Bank statements 3, Payslips 6 moths, marriage certificate, birth certificate for child & land docs) were all returned with passport.
Following docs were removed - Coy introduction, stork brokers statement and host invitation email & resident permit.

My question, are those docs returned not necessary or required? So that I don't have to include them another time.

Thanks.
They were removed because those were addressed to them or for their direct benefit. It forms part of your info with them. Please include them still whenever you are applying.

I want to ask, where did you apply?
