tobex234: I'm a recent Unibadan Mathematics graduate presently serving in Abuja. I guess CFA means Certified Financial Analyst, but I was contemplating doing ICAN or ACCA as I have probably not seen any job advert that requires a CFA, please enlighten me guys.

Thanks
Would suggest you do ICAN or ACCA as they are more in demand. CFA is usually for those who want to go into or already in Investment banking, financial analyst and stuff. There are about 100 charter holders in Nigeria so there will hardly be job adverts for them. However, they are highly sought for in their particular fields cos the exam is really difficult to pass.

You can come up with an arrangement e.g he comes from 7pm and leaves 7am if you are so worried about your space.

victovrry: I got married to my husband several years ago, we are blessed with two girls, after 8years of our marriage my husband and his family called a meeting which the outcome was just to tell me of a boy my husband had when he was in secondary school, though he denied the boy then but now he has grown and look exactly like him...the issue now is that whenever I wanted to give birth to a boy, it always lead to miscarriage or born him dead...hmmm we had nothing when we got married, infact we married in a room, now we have more than four houses and cars, in which all my salaries and efforts are contributed but ...my kids are all girls and all our properties are written in my husband's name, pls I don't know what to do.....
This was as at Aug 2014

There are so many fake stories in this section that when i see inconsistencies, i bail out immediately.

chiefinalowo: Thanks!
I need more clarification.

If the husband is Mr. Richard Adams and the wife is Mrs Janet Adams, can't they acquire property(ies) on Mr & Mrs Richard Janet Adams?
Best to do Mr Richard Adams and Mrs Janet Adams. Two separate individuals coming together in holy matrimony lol.

Legally, there is no such person as Richard Janet Adams. Thus the name does not mean anything.

Godmystrength: Mr & Mrs XYZ is different from Mr XYZ & Mrs ABZ.
If you bring in another woman tomorrow, she will also be Mrs XYZ
If you have 300 wives, they are all Mrs XYZ.

But Mrs ABZ XYZ is specific.
Bless you sister.

I can't even acquire any property on my name alone.
Fixed.

Culture › Re: How Are Your Older Folks Responding To New Technology? by blank(f):
Orikinla: OP, the older folks you know must be intellectually re-tarded and even the majority of the younger generation of Nigerians are also intellectually re-tarded
Most of them know nothing more than Facebook, Twitter, Nairaland and gossip blogs.
When I wanted to discuss Mobli and Keek with many young Nigerians, they were clueless when kids from 7 years are at summer camps in the US, Europe and Asia developing mobile apps and online games, Nigerian kids are hooked on discussing European soccer leagues and wasting millions of naira everyday betting like idi-ots and having useless chats on 2go and posting rubbish on Facebook and downloading senseless caller tunes on their mobile phones.

The older folks are in fact far ahead managing leading IT companies like Chams, Zinox and other companies using mobile cloud computing and other latest technologies in their offices from KPMG to PricewaterhouseCoopers where majority of the younger folks are in fact unemployable, because of their low IQ. And I am busy developing advanced mobile apps for tech startups for the Mobile Cloud Market Worth $46.90 Billion by 2019 as reported on my multimedia news and information blog http://www.nigeriansreport.com/2014/08/mobile-cloud-market-worth-4690-billion.html

How many of the younger folks in Nigeria know what is Cloud Computing in Education?
Discussing high tech IT with them is an ordeal, because they are just too clueless to grasp such 21st information trends.
Nigerian youths need to wake up!
You must be intellectually re-tarded. We are having a lighthearted discussion here and you are talking thrash. With all your cloud computing how many world renowned companies have you founded. You say youth know only Facebook, Nairaland etc, are they not youths that founded those companies? Mention PwC and KPMG all you want but you can only dream of coming close to those companies with your so-called hi IQ, abi na old men only those companies dey employ? Shift make i see road.

I have had good and bad times. For the most part, holidays with relatives were fun. However, when i stayed with my uncle and his wife for about 2 yrs while i went to secondary school, it was something else. However, i guess it was cos i was used to being pampered and my uncle's wife did not pamper even her own kids not to mention me. And i was stubborn. Not the in your face kind, it was the passive aggressive type and she put it as her life work to rid me of it.

I eventually went into boarding school and had a wonderful time there (cos it was a school were i was pampered). We call and gist every so often. Her kids are like my younger sisters and life is great.

My kids are too young to learn piano or dance lessons so i shipped them out to my MIL.

She teaches them maths, learning to read, ryhmes, etc.

Just anything to keep them busy.

She has a large compound so they can have as much fun as they want.
Culture › Re: How Are Your Older Folks Responding To New Technology? by blank(f):
From the period when computers were those big desktop thingies, my dad had one at home and taught us how to use the computer. He is a pro when it comes to technology. Any new gadget that comes out, he will get it. I used to tease him that him and his gadgets are competing for space in his room. He is always looking for ways to simplify work. This comes with its own downsides because he was a sucker for all those silly gimmicks that cost money and do not do what they say they will do.

My mum on the other hand was the complete opposite. She was never interested in all those things and never used a computer until she retired. She won't even use the remote for the ac cos she said it feels strange. I remember when we both went to our villa, we didn't use the generator cos she didn't know how to use it. Phones were landlines for her and it was faster for her to call than to send an sms. SMS could take the whole day. However, since she retired, she has improved a lot. She is now on whatsapp, facebook, sends emails, browses the internet, etc. Seems like my dad has started infecting her and her office people have stopped. I think the highpoint was when we did SKYPE. I couldn't even believe that she knew what it did not to mention using it. People do change. Wouldn't be surprised if she is on Nairaland as well. That would be so weird.

Who is deceiving whom?

wolewill: Good day Nairaland

To crown it all now, I need to go for HIV test to be sure I am not in bigger trouble than I am. right now my wife is in the kitchen preparing break fast while I type this, but I cant help but look back and wail over how I have destroyed the lives of all the people that trusted, believe and genuinely care for me with my selfish acts.

Interestingly my wife keeps practicing her house hygiene without knowing that the greatest threat to her hygienic life is her husband, I kept looking at the situation as she go about her finicky hygiene lifestyle, she is so finicky to the extent that the children cannot come into the living room with their pyjamas in the morning and sit on the couch there because visitors also sit on them and she doesn't want them to pick anything from strangers cloth thereby getting into their bed with.
wolewill: @mrbrownjay. Naturally I am not wont to this behaviour but for the fact that I work away from my family though not excuse to behave badly. I need to confess to my wife but I need to be around her and I am not due for leave anytime soon.
Can't stand all these fake Nollywood stories abeg.
