WAVixen: Pampers, huggies are just selling their brand. As a mom I have used both and can tell you toujours is more absorbant, and baby friendly. It beats me why moms dont patronise it. I used to buy it for 2,000. Now I hear it has jumped up in price.
It has jumped up in price because people are now buying it. e.g ME.

I think it's easier for kids to call daddy first. My kid started with "addy" and i keep encouraging him. Mummy will come at its own time. The funny thing is that i don't even know when he is saying it cos he says a whole lot of stuff that does not make sense to me. Just that he will stretch out his hand to his dad to carry him then i kinda get it.

She should try and enter 1.5 which is third class. With 1.48, that is a PASS, as in she will get a certificate of attendance. She should start learning how to make hair, tailoring or how to buy and sell. That is the reality of the Nigerian job market.

Dudugirl01: My baby has been stooling since thursday, took her to the hospital and doctor says its ok, I'm worried, what could be the problem?
.

It is fine. Maybe u ate something that is running her tummy. If u feel the stooling is more than usual, u can give her ORT for 2 days so she doesn't become dehydrated.

Less science and geeky stuff, e.g website building is not for everyone. Less family except the person specifically asked for it to be on the front page. A lot of people that come to family section, ask for their problems to not be on the front page but she immediately pushes it. Less celebrity silly gossip.

Jarus: Experienced same when I drove to my company's retreat in Festac from my Ajah home last year. The Apapa traffic was especially hellish.

Do u stay in Ajah too?
I live just before Chevron but had to leave from Ajah that day. That was before dualization and toll gate. lol.

Ajah to Festac. It took 5hrs. 2hrs traffic in Ajah, 2 hrs traffic in Apapa and 1 hr for the remaining journey. It was so stressful that i did the return journey in two days time. Slept over in a hotel. lol.

@ Afrobaby, yu can start as early as 4 weeks. No set time. Abroad it is a bit different but here in Naija anytime is ok. I saw 7 weeks gone people in the antenatal room during my first. As for best hospital, it is different for everyone. It will be difficult to use a hospital on the island if you stay in Egbeda and vice versa. Just ask around maybe ur office or friends and find what they use.

Family › Re: Your Take On Forced Marriage by blank(f): 10:05am On Apr 04, 2012
In the church i attended with my uncle and his family when i was in secondary school, something like that happened. In the church, there were some people that belonged to a religious group called "ekpere ofuma". A particular family matchmade their first daughter with another member (not a church member) of their prayer group. The girl refused but they forced her. On her wedding day, she cried and cried and cried. Now, she is still married to the guy and they have two kids. I wonder how she feels in the marriage. This should be almost 10 years ago.

So, i think forced marriages still happen.

Free Naijasexy jor. She is expressing her opinion as you have expressed yours. It is worse for a woman to marry below her than for a guy to marry below him. Such marriages hardly last.

I remember an instance that happened at a family occasion. A guy met my aunt with a marriage proposal. She turned him down cos she is happily married with 5 beautiful adults as her kids. We heard him muttering under his breath that once someone can marry into this family that the person is made for life. He kept making a nuisance of himself till he was asked to leave.
That kain person na one chance o.
Christianity Etc › Re: I Want To Give My Tithe To A Brother In Need by blank(f): 4:40pm On Apr 03, 2012
There are many blessings in the Bible. Leave tithe blessings for those fanatic old testamenters. The new testament says you should give and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will men give to you.

Give your brother and it will be given unto you. The ones that running over will cover whatever the locust will devour, lol. It is when you want to spend the money on yourself in a selfish manner that it becomes an issue.
Family › Re: Marrying From An Extremely Poor Home. Can You Consider It? by blank(f): 3:08pm On Apr 03, 2012
Amaka G29: I do believe in marrying with love in mind. Because what people tend to call love is at times a fleeting sentiment, practicality and proper planning are necessary.

I will not be marrying into a poor family, because of issues that will arise after marriage. Poor family members tend to create great financial pressure on males, which will put financial pressures on our household. I don't mind helping out in extreme circumstances, but it shouldn't be a regular occurrence. I have to plan for my children's futures and my own retirement. It also has implications on who my children are related to and the examples of success they will grow up around. If I marry into a family with several doctors, lawyers, bankers, and other respectable professionals (not necessarily rich), then those are the people my children will be surrounded by.

Being unrealistic about financial concerns when getting married may have a terrible impact on a happy home. No, don't marry for money, but financial planning needs to be a part of the marriage conversation. Don't ignore it.
I support you.
