When i try to view from my mobile and zoom in, the ending words get cut off. I have to zoom out and read very tiny print if i want to read the story at all. For a long post, its just not worth the effort.

Health › Re: Pregnancy Are You Pregnant Or Going Through A High Risk Pregnancy,,lets Talk by blank(f): 11:23am On Mar 27, 2012
This is a nice thread.

I had my first baby at 35 weeks. Luckily he was just pre-term and not premature so he only stayed in the incubator for one night. My water broke and the baby was in a breech position so i had to do a CS.

The pregnancy was so peaceful up to that point. No morning sickness, no headache, nothing. I used to walk 20 mins to my hospital and back just cos i needed the exercise. I would go swimming for hours. Does days were fun. Now that i am working, i am wondering how the pregnancy will be.

Let us all be factual. The initial story is very one-sided. I think their responses have provided some context to the whole thing.

I still can't wrap my head around why he would beat her esp as he knows she is suffering from "a pre-existing ailment". Though the beating did not lead to her death but why should he even beat her at all? Who even knows if the beatings did not cause the son's predicament.

I think people should stop cursing the man and his family cos his kids need him at this time. Poor kids. They are the victims in this whole saga. God will protect and provide for them. He will be a covering for them in Jesus name.

Family is such an issue. Sometimes, i wish we could just do whatever we want and then inform family to just come as guests. Wahala to much o.

The girl in question should do what she wants to do. Even if her mum did every for her, she might not bear her father any grudges. She wants her dad to part of her big day, big deal. The mum should deal with it and try and work her way into a compromise. My issue is even with the in-laws sef. They know the parents are separated yet they want to start laying their own laws n customs. Thought the traditional wedding belongs to the bride and they do things the way the bride wants. huh

Even if we are to believe Kevin's apologists, don't they think it strange that the wife's family is even insinuating such? What kind of life could they have been living for his in'laws to say such things in public? Thay should use their tongue to count their teeth.

Though i find some of their arguments to be persuasive and has some truth, for the most part, it lacks merit.

God save us from our archaic mindsets esp me. I grew up believing that divorce was wrong n if u die, u will go 2 hell. Ii believed that d husband u have is the cross 2 carry for not choosing a better person. t took a lot of work on my part 2 change my mindset. Sometimes, I find myself falling back into those things.

I have seen my friends trapped in loveless abusive marriages but they are still hanging on hopeful that things change n I have prayed with them that it shld get better. When can we draw the line and support people when they make their choice 2 remain in d marriage?
Family › Re: Cry From The Grave - Ogo's Story by blank(f): 9:41am On Mar 26, 2012
Ahhh. this story is so sad. It has given me a new empathy for abused women. My aunty (dad's sister) used 2 be abused n beaten in her marriage though she had an acerbic tongue. When she finally left her husband after a very serious beating, people were still telling her to return 2 d man. Her kids are same age as my siblings n I and the eldest had finished uni at that time yet people kept saying she shld stay for the kids. Her husband had not worked in 15yrs prior to this and it was her catering business that sustained the family.
This is almost 8 yrs after she left and people are still saying she shld reconcile with him esp her kids. I won't lie, I was also saying same cos 8yrs is enough 2 forget the horror of that beating but now I know better. God please forgive me and my family if we ever made her feel like less of a person for being separated. Grant such women the strength they need to move on and to overcome all obstacles.

Politics › Briton Demands 1billion Naira Compensation From Nigerian Police by blank(op): 2:54pm On Mar 21, 2012
A Briton, Mr. Khomeini Bukhari, who was allegedly dispossessed of his property by two policemen, has demanded N1bn from the Nigeria Police for defamation of character.

He claimed that the police breached their statutory duty by not investigating the incident he said had left him traumatised.
In a letter to the acting Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar, by his lawyer, Bamidele Aturu, the businessman explained that the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Moshood Jimoh, defamed his character in an interview he granted to a newspaper after the incident in which he said Bhukari was not “in the right frame of mind”.

The Briton also demanded the investigation of his complaints against the two policemen – Samuel Ekpah and Daniel Marcus – who allegedly assaulted and dispossessed him of N200,000 and a Breitling Chronomat Evolution wristwatch valued at N1.3m at the Milliennium Park, Abuja on October 29, 2011.

The letter, dated March 19, 2012, gave the police a 14-day ultimatum to pay the money or risk being dragged to court.

The petition read in part, “When allegations against serving officers of the force, as in the case of our client, are uninvestigated, it is immoral, professionally atrocious and indefensible.

“In the circumstances, we have our client’s instruction to demand, and we hereby so do, that you immediately investigate the allegations made by our client against the two named police officers (Samuel Ekpah and Daniel Marcus), and offer an unqualified apology to him in at least three daily newspapers circulating across the country.”
Aturu told our correspondent that he was handling the case for his client pro bono (free of charge), adding that the refusal of the police to investigate the incident was not good for the image of the country.

It is possible to drown in a lake or bath tub. The person does not need to hold his breath he just needs to start breathing in water n that will make the person choke.

There are cases of 'big men' committing suicide. How about that ministerial nominee that jumped into the Lagoon, Alade Abaniwonda or something like that. Did he not commit suicide?

My rational mind says nothing wrong but my prejudices insist it is wrong. Recently, my cousin got a job in Lagos, my house is full so she can't stay with me. I was running around looking for who she will stay with. She is 23yrs old n was saying she would like 2 get her own place, in my mind I was saying God forbid. Finally got somewhere she can stay.

The funny part was that at around her age, my 1st job after NYSC, I had my own place and even my own car. Can't just harmonize the 2 positions.

@ Op, I really really like you. You sound very mature and well put together. I do not have any advice for you as it seems you have the issue well under control. Continue to be supportive and his missing rib, you will reap the reward in due season. If your husband already has an issue opening up to people, even telling his mum (if she was still alive) would not be advisable.

God will continue to give you the wisdom you need to carry on. A couple of years down the line; you will look back at this situation and wonder why you were even worked up at it. You will have as many children as you want and will continue to be a blessing to your family and to your extended family.

Did it ever occur to you that she did it for personal reasons? Nope, cos you were so wanting to win a medal for knowing who the OP was that it did not cross your mind to respect that.

Not a smart thing to do, not a smart thing at all. How much is the medal you were trying to win on NLD anyways?
