I think it is the intonation not the comment. It is the comment that has made some kids desperate to go get money whatever way they can because they feel deprived or lacking.
I don't agree with you. There are people lacking in means but they bring up children who are not desperate to make money in whatever way. That is caused by people's value system. Teach your kids to value hardwork and enjoy the rewards of such.

My first son has a goal to be rich. That is a legitimate aspiration. My job is to teach him to aspire to make it legitimately and learn to not just want money for the sake of having it.

Nothing wrong with telling a child that you can't afford to purchase an item. Tell them that you always say the truth and never lie.

I've not heard where they do traditional weddings in the husband's place.

The first step is for him to ask hi father/mother on the format of the wedding then you can start planning each one.

The bad part is that the skilled and educated ones are leaving and being replaced by almajiris. I can imagine what the workforce will look like in a couple of years.

Do all your stuffs yyourself and seek the attention of neighbours around his age to help you out with whatever you can't handle...
Teenager at 19? When will he outgrow it? In my village, if a boy shows these tendencies from a young age, they ship him off to a distant relation to learn handwork whilst going to school. His sense of entitlement will disappear fast.

You are an enabler. You're not helping him at all. He will grow up to continue this disgusting behaviour. Lay the rules and follow thru. If he wants to behave like a child then treat him like one.

Start by removing all those freebies. If he wants to eat, let him work. If he wants data, let him work. Don't be afraid to be seen as a bad guy. Sometimes, you need to be mean to do the right thing.

Look for a sound microfinance bank and invest it. They can give you up to 21% for shorter periods.

But make sure it's a sound bank with history so that your money no go loss.

Hello All,
I am just about to apply for a visa for my Mum. She just renewed her passport and I was just about to create an application for a 5 year visitor visa and just wondered if it's possible to have a 5 year visa on a 5 year passport. Passport expires in April 2022 and a 5 year visa applied for in July would be valid to July 2022. Anybody have such an experience? Do you know if this is possible?

Thank You and Regards
Yes, it is possible. When your passport expires, you travel with the old and new one. Zero issues.

Morning House,

Nice and informative thread, Please I need answers to the following questions will be glad if justwise or anyone else can provide it

1. What is the most affordable and easiest transportation from London Gatwick to Liverpool

2. Documents needed to present at POE (Going for PLAB exam) and how friendly are CBP officials at Gatwick

3. What are the things (food or clothing item) I can travel with to reduce cost of buying things over there since I wont be working

4. How much can one budget excluding accommodation for staying up to 3months in a place like Liverpool

N.B: Couldnt find another thread that answer this questions, i know they are not really visa related. Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you.
1. Affordable - Megabus or National Express (check their website for prices for those days), easiest would be by flight. In the middle are trains (check virgin trains website, londonmidlands or thetrainline for prices). You will need local transport like a taxi service or via the underground because it is kind of out of town. There will be several stops and change overs.

2. Don't know the docs for it but you can present whatever will show that you are writing the exam. Gatwick is usually friendly. Used there only once. It would have been easier to come through Manchester. They are very friendly and you can catch the train straight from the Manchester airport to Liverpool, no changes. Manchester doesn't even check for foodstuff so you can bring all the foodstuff you want.

3. Noodles, provisions, clothing, shoes, toiletries. If not a furnished apartment, you will need pots/bedding etc. Bus system is good and there's UBER as well as their own DELTA taxi.

4. If you come in when students are on long break, you can get cheaper student accommodation in town. I don't really know much about accommodation as i usually stay with friends.

Omg, we need a pedestrian bridge at ikota asap.

Drove past a horrible, fatal accident some minutes ago @ ikota second gate. Saw a man's head crushed and buried under the tires of a suv. I'm shaking as I type this.

This life sef. . . cry

Edit : heard that about 10 people died this morning. And 2 died yesterday at mega chicken bus stop. sad
My friend who was on the other side of the road told me what happened. That it wasn't due to lack of pedestrian bridge. He said that a mechanic was driving a Benz and ran into a group of people that were waiting for a bus by the side of the road with high speed. 10 people died and many others were injured. Very sad.

That is why i say you don't know the full story

Apparently the man resisted arrest otherwise why would police try to handcuff him to pick up and drive his body in from of people IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. Also don't think police is here for your safety only, Its primary job is to enforce the law ENFORCE THE LAW, and they have rules of engagement. DO u expect police to be gentle with criminals when it is well know police officers are losing their lifes everyday. They also have a right to safety that is why they have to right to use force.
So, in enforcing the law, they should become law breakers themselves.

Why can't they finish those pedestrian bridges that they started. Why did they stop? They say that people don't use it but let it be there for the few that will use it.

All these are avoidable deaths. It could be anyone in either's shoes. This is just horrible.

Do people really fall for this scam? I am so surprised. Anytime you want yo go to your bank, open the page directly. Don't go through any link. If your "bank" sends you an email without your name stated, just ignore. Always check sender's name in any email purportedly from your bank.

Hello Momsies in the house, not been here for a while. Greetings to all.
I have a question make una help me abeg. My LO just turned one and she cruises with support around the house with her toes(tiptoe) and I think it's delaying her walking proper. she stands on her own for few seconds but tip toe while walking with support. she used baby walker but I stopped immediately I noticed this tiptoe thing.
abeg make una no send me go google cos I'm coming from there. grin I want practical experience from naija Mums pls.. should I be worried.

btw she surpasses her milestones even before time just this walking.
thank you.
What i did for my 2nd son that loved walking on tip toes was to buy him ankle shoes (shoes that extend to the ankle). With the ankle shoes, it is not very comfortable to walk on tip toes and it made him correct his way of walking. The difference is that he was already walking when i noticed it. I don't know if it will work for your child.

You don't know the backstory. What if it is a young girl, maybe his sister, that is taping it? She might have been beaten many times before that and was too afraid to intervene. You can see that she was hiding to tape it. She should be given kudos for exposing the DV in that marriage.

This is a drug reaction which can happen to anybody. It doesn't mean that the wrong medication was administered rather the student in question reacts adversely to the medication given to him. Most people don't know that they reacts to some drugs eg not everybody reacts to chloroquine or sulphur etc. Some may have mild reaction while in rare cases it maybe life threatening like in this kid.
Was his history taken? Do they have records of what children are allergic to? Do you just give people medication without enquiry? Should they have abandoned the boy for 3 days with no neutralizer? Why did they lie that they gave him Augmentin when it was Fansidar that he was given? Why lie?

No need to be cocky, TCN is not a government owned company, it was incorporated in 2005.

Its a private organization, just because govt has some stake in it and has a minister sitting on the board doesnt mean it a government organization. Go to their website and see for your self and remember we can read.
Here i was thinking that was i discussing with a reasonable person. Is there anywhere on their website that they mentioned any of the investors? Are they on the board? It was incorporated in 2005 from NEPA and given a licence doesn't make it private. If you really can read, kindly do so. It is 100% a govt institution.
