spyder880:Good job spyder880. Wonder where you get the enrgy to supervise so many sites at once. |
Truckpusher:It was a tongue in cheek statement. As people have been accusing her of sleeping with Jonathan to keep her ministerial appointment who would she have slept with in US for them to give her the commendation. |
PointB:Okay, Carry on. ![]() |
Drizzle007:The person dey stole from nko? Was it not money she used to buy them? If they were really hungry, they would steal just one tuber not the mound they have there. |

The management of Cable Newspaper Ltd, publishers of TheCable, would like to make the following statement concerning our report on the lecture by Professor Wole Soyinka at the Harvard University Hutchins Centre for African & African American Research. Soyinka was quoted to have made derogatory remarks about the Igbo over their voting pattern in the March 28 presidential election. He has since denied the offensive quotes attributed to him. After an in-house investigation, we have come to the conclusion that the story misrepresented the views expressed by Soyinka in the question-and-answer session after his lecture. We take full responsibility for the inaccuracy and promise that we will continue to strive to improve our standards. Also, we wish to reiterate that we take our professional responsibilities very seriously, as our readers can attest to. We hereby offer an unreserved apology to Soyinka, Ndigbo and our readers.Source: http://www.thecable.ng/thecable-apologises-soyinka-igbo-story I guess this vindicates Soyinka. However, i am interested in knowing what he said at the Q&A session. |
moca:I am so curious. What was your former moniker? I suspect it is ypepe but not too sure. |
taryour:I dey o. Work has been so stressful. Seems like i am permanently on coffee. Saw that your old post and couldn't help bursting into laughter. |

Gosh, this photo is so old that i am sure their children are about to graduate from Primary school. |
This thief is trying to rewrite history. I know he is a crook. He stole NTA money and used it to set up Silverbird. Crook. Modified: I wish i could add my sources but due to non-disclosure contracts, i cannot. But i know that most of the equipment he used to set up Silverbird were acquired in NTAs name and then they just disappeared. |
This is so easy. It's not about the nationality, it's the numbers. 3 is greater thus better than 1 any day for his business. |
So sad. I used to enjoy listening to him in the mornings. May his soul rest in peace. |
cecegorz:Ah. Okay. Get ready for the culture shock. EKEDC bill will collect all of that in less than 2 months. Good you are using prepaid meter but if it is an IKEDC one, you will have to purchase another meter. That your 40k will be less than what you will spend per month on services. I believe in estates cos i feel it can reduce costs without putting the physical stress on you but those rules and regulations are utterly crazy. |
cecegorz:40k for utilities a year? Wow. I am interested o. What part of Lekki is this? |
cecegorz:Let us do the maths properly so that we are comparing apples with apples. On your Own (assuming all things being equal and normal usage; 1. Electricity bill in EKEDC 2. Maintaining generator 3. Fuel (diesel and petrol) 4. Paying a security man 5. Buying water (including Water Corp) 6. Security dues (gate fees, OPC) Any other that i didn't mention. Compare that with the cost of estate dues and 24 hrs electricity and not having to do any of the above. Remember EKEDC bills are really high. That is when you can know if the cost is worth it. |
Did i just read that a 23 year old woman has a 9 year old child? That means she was 14 years old when she gave birth to her son. That's the problem right there. A child giving birth to a child. How would she know how to cope with a child's behavioral idiosyncrasies when she never had a chance to grow up. |
MRBrownJ:The annoying part was that the teachers said she fell from the slide on the playground. Can you imagine? None of the kids that beat her up were ever punished neither was the teacher who was meant to be looking after them at playtime. I don't ever leave kids to play unsupervised because they can play really really rough and push boundaries all the time. |
Over the last few days there has been viral footage capturing the horrific assault of a newborn baby at a hospital in Bulgaria. Having spent the morning searching for more information, I have translated several Bulgarian and Spanish news articles. The information is as accurate as possible and if any information is later shown to be incorrect it will be amended. The alleged assault of this precious newborn baby girl, Nicole, just 4 days old at the time, is alleged to have taken place at the 'Sofiamed' Hospital at around 2am on Saturday 18th April. The baby girl had been born healthy with no complications. The footage appears to show the accused, 40yr old Emilia Kovacheva, brutally beat the infant with fists and a glass feeding bottle. It is believed she tried to choke the infant by putting pressure on her neck. It's believed Kovacheva had worked two 12 hour shifts consecutively, and was tired and nervous. It's not known why the infant was attacked but possibly because she cried more than the others. Allegedly Kovacheva tried to conceal her actions the following morning by not wanting to give the newborn to her mother for feeding. Baby Nicole was taken to 'Tokuda' Hospital around 7.30pm Saturday with severe head trauma - cerebral hemorrhage and cerebral edema. Doctors spent 48 hours with the infant and she now has stable vital signs. It's believed she is no longer on assisted ventilation. Emilia Kovacheva has been fired. She was arrested and detained. It's alleged she has previously shown signs of mental instability, but dozens of mothers believe this not to be true, describing her as a professional and good woman. The head of the maternity ward in 'Sofiamed', Dr. Valerie Netzov, determined what happened as "a human tragedy that could have happened to anyone, anywhere". A gynecologist said "If Emilia Kovacheva was not working here, it would have happened in another hospital to others". Kovacheva was described as 'one of their best midwives, and never any complaints. When she is on duty at night, you know everything will be done properly. She is a non-confrontational person, has a sense of humor and is a pleasant woman'. The gynecologist attacked the media because nobody thought about the parents of the baby. The tragedy spread across all channels without being aware of the huge stress for relatives and friends of those involved. The manager of 'Sofiamed' announced it will introduce a new type of video in which mothers will be given a personal code, so they can watch what is happening to their baby 24hrs a day while in hospital. 'Sofiamed' is one of only a few hospitals that has video surveillance, and cameras are only used for investigative purposes. At the end of last week the footage was leaked to some websites and TV. The Electronic Media Council will discuss at a meeting next week whether media have broken the law. **UPDATE** from a Bulgarian news article posted 3 hours ago - Judges have made the decision to keep Emilia Kovacheva in custody on the grounds she may re-offend. And it was NOT agreed that the charge of attempted murder be reclassified as Intentionally Inflicting Grievous Bodily Harm. According to Judge Nicholas Dzhurkovski, investigation so far has provided sufficient evidence that the attack on the newborn was committed with direct intent to murder. He added Emilia Kovacheva has a high degree of public danger. The decision is final and not subject to appeal. Yesterday 'Tokuda' Hospital said baby Nicole is recovering well, her condition is stable and there will be no permanent damage! Please keep baby Nicole and her loved ones in your prayers ~ Y. **MAY 3rd SECOND UPDATE** - A Bulgarian update posted 7 hours ago states there have been protests across Bulgaria today that were organised via social media. The image here shows mothers and their children protesting outside the Court House in Sofia http://f.hi18.cn/UnitedWeStandAgainstChildAbuse/posts/817133878362548

This is totally unbelievable. She props a newborn baby’s bottle in its mouth because she is to damn lazy to feed it properly. She doesn’t bother to burp her and wonders why she is crying. |
Emiliya Kovacheva is now under arrest and charged with attempted murder for inflicting grievous physical harm to a 4-day-old baby girl named “Nikol”. Kovacheva was caught on surveillance video of the hospital hitting the neonate with her hands and baby’s glass feeding bottle. The video also showed Kovacheva clutching the neck and shaking the baby. …clutching the neck and shaking the baby. The incident has left Kovacheva’s colleagues in shock saying the midwife had previously had an impeccable professional record. “We did not tell each other anything, everyone cried and could not believe this was the person they had worked with,” said Dr. Valeri Netsov, head of the obstetrics and gynaecology ward at Sofiamed. “She was one of our best midwives; no complaints were filed against it. When she worked the night shift, we knew everything would be done the right way – she is not prone to conflicts, has a sense of humour and is a nice woman,” said Dr. Netsov in a press conference. It was rumored that the Kovacheva’s exhausting 24-hour shift caused her sudden burst of outrage but this was falsified by Dr. Nestov saying: “Working 24-hour shifts is not a practice at [our] hospital; Emiliya Kovacheva worked one shift after another as she had wished so.” On the other hand, Dr. Yordan Pelev, manager of the Sofiamed hospital said they will initiate a new countermeasure to prevent this incidence from occurring. “We will introduce a new kind of video surveillance due to which mothers will be able to watch round-the-clock what happens to their babies through a personal code while they are on the territory of the medical establishment,” he said. Deputy Health Minister Boyko Penkov briefed reporters on Friday saying the newborn was moved to another hospital and is already in a more stable condition. http://nurseslabs.com/nurse-viciously-beats-newborn-baby/ |
Idrismusty97:Sorry, my bad. Thought they did. |
@OP, your first year courses are equivalent of A levels. That's why people with pre degrees, A levels come in with direct entry into 2nd year. 4 years is very fair for a degree. |
2am? Are you sure? Make I rush go check. Hope I didn't sleep through it. Everyone is awake for the match of the century. Modified Abeg no dey fear person. |
jmichlins:No, Nairaland is made up of a large percentage of non-voters i.e people who have a very vocal opinion and a platform to air their views but are not directly involved. People i interacted with that were going to vote did not necessarily share that opinion. If you check properly, he didn't win in Anambra Central Senatorial zone during his run for governorship. The people gave him a chance for senate and after just one term, they booted him out because he was a big failure. I cannot forgive him for not fixing our roads when he was governor because of his beef with the Uba family. |
jmichlins:You are in Nnewi and not in the senatorial zone concerned so don't talk with authority for us. The clamour for him to be governor was on Nairaland. As you can see, he didn't win, he didn't even come 2nd. As senators, they are entitled to constituency projects. His project was VIP toilets that exist only on his propaganda pamphlet. Also, he did not sponsor a single bill not to mention one that would benefit his zone. Contributed nada to our lives. You cannot compare to an Ekwunife. We won't shoot ourselves in the foot. If you wanted it so much, your zone could have voted for APC so that you can produce Senate president. |
jmichlins:How can you say that? Do you live or are you from that senatorial zone? What has Ngige done for us since he was in the Senate? Whilst Ekwunife is a performer any day any time. He should go and use one of his invisible VIP toilets jor. |
femi4:No, senior. It is the main actor himself that is late. |
