Still can't believe that a well known crook is a moderator on Nairaland and Seun is not bothered. To me, it seems like it's an official stamp of approval of his fraudulent activities. Don't let his money from adverts stop you from doing the right thing. |

safarigirl: I hope your father won't collect a cent from whoever marries you (if you aren't already married)....cuz we hear Hausas charge in terms of cows.
Btw, I believe I said that the dowry should be cheaper, don't scrap it, just subsidize it. So telling me about costly bride price is you swaying from my point. The bride price in my village is about five naira for instance...I'm not aware of any other extras. And even if there was, I doubt it would cost more than 20-50k....
But I digress, matters pertaining to marriage is better discussed amongst people who wish to partake in such unions I wonder why people take such pride in archaic things. According to my village rites, bride price is N60. Mt dad collected N100 cos there was no change. All those extra things, he didn't ask. His brothers were shouting, She is a graduate, she has masters, she is tall, the most ridiculous things but he stood his ground. He even gave me a sizable dowry. I was gisting a friend of mine, she now turned it to abuse. That they won't value me cos na small money they pay. I had to ask her to compare the two of us who is enjoying more and she was ashamed. |

Probably feeding him with stories on how his case was progressing. Maybe she wanted to elope with him at the end.
Even if she is not part of it, he should run away from her. She can kill. To make matters worse, she is still lying that she used the money for lawyers fees. I can be so vindictive, if it was me i would thoroughly disgrace her before i sever contact with her. |

refreshrate: Hi @justwise and everyone else who can make sense of this please just joined this forum cos i really don't know what to do next i applied for a UK tourist just before the christmas holiday and included all the required documents to support it. only to pick it up yesterday with the following reason for refusal
< You stated that you have been employed since September2014 with Bleep and that you earn 234,000 per month. As evidence of your employment you have provided an employment letter dated 22/12/2014. Within this letter it states that you would be travelling to the UK with approval from the office to work on a clients project. You have also provided bank staement as evidence of your employment but these do not show any salary deposits as claimed therefore i cannot be satisfied that your financial circumstances are as claimed.
i have also addressed your application under paragrapgh 46G and i am satisfied you do not meet therequirements of 46G i ii and iii i therefore refuse your application because i am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you have met all the requirements
your right to appeal is limited referred to in section 84(1)(c) of the nationality immigration and assylum act2002>
Heres the problem
1. My offer letter clearly states a date ofAugust 2014. A letter of permission to go on a break as i was to work during the holiday period was issued by my office and was duly included it was a one pager separate document dated 22nd december how could they have assumed this to be my offer letter when it was duly addressed to the consulate?
2. The bank statements submitted clearly stated payments of salaries since September by the company on a regular basis how they didnt see this still baffles me
3. The letter from the office to the consulate clearly stated that i was being allowed to travel in January to substitute my working on a project for a client here in Nigeria during the holidays. How in Gods name did this become me going to work on a clients project in the UK still baffles me.
Please advice on what the next best steps to take would be as im still wondering what exactly is going on in the british high commission
thanks I think the letter sent by your company to explain the holiday was unnecessary and not clear thus was misinterpreted by them. They should have just introduced you as their staff, how much you earn and the fact that you have permission to go on leave that period. Not too late, they can still do so. You can explain in the additional information why you think they were wrong but don't sound like you are accusing them of being high on Christmas spirits. |

Mopricelezz: I started the weaning process for my son yesterday. And since he has never sucked since yesterday, my bosom is all full and terribly aching, even my neck nd back are aching, as such that I can't even carry him except I back him. Please mum's in here, how were u able to pull through this period.. Cos am gradually feeling kinda ill from the aches.. Thanks, I anticipate your responses.. You can start by expressing the milk you have now with a breast pump and then increasing the length of time between expressing. Don't express everything out. If you usually express 200ml, express only 100ml then give a long gap of like 10-14 hrs between each session still expressing less than you did the last time. Within 2 days, your body will adjust. When you can go 24hrs without expressing then you have survived it. If you dont have a breast pump, use your hands to squeeze out as much milk as you can then use cold cabbage abi na lettuce leaves. Put them in the fridge and then put them in your bra. You will soon have relief. Sorry about the stress. |

Family › Re: Family ; How Do You Balance Accounts? by blank(f): 5:26pm On Jan 07, 2015 |
Here goes. The key was to have absolute trust. First of all, we have a joint account and then we have individual accounts whilst still being signatories to each others account. Thus, anyone can transfer or withdraw from any account. We started this from when we started dating so we kinda had a rhythm by the time we were getting married. He prepares the annual budget while i do the monthly budget and try to make sure it is adhered to. aisha2: Times are becoming very hard, some workers experiencing salary delays, business people being owed by Government offices and individuals. In the midst of all these how do you stay afloat and plan for the future ( savings, fees, rent, housing projects etc) 1. How do you handle bills? Monthly bills like light, water, generator, baby needs ( if you have a little baby). Anyone that has money in his/her account pays. If i am near the NEPA pay point, i can pay. If fuel is almost finished, anyone can go out with the jerrycan and buy. However, i noticed he does most of the heavy lifting especially as he earns more than i do. 2. Are you able to keep some stash away? I tend to allow him pay for most of the household expenses so i put a major part of my savings in our joint account. 3. How do you reduce cost? Do you buy in bulk? Buy and share? I buy in bulk, buy from online sites after comparing prices. I recently want to start buying a goat and sharing with my cousin but still feeling each other out. 4. How do you save for projects or annual expenditure like rent, save towards building a house and childrens fees? The joint account has our major savings. It is what we are using for our housing project. School fees and house rent come out of our monthly salary and limited savings in that month. We pay rent half yearly so its easy and it doesn't fall due around the same time. 5. Are you registered with NHIS? This saves medical expenses a lot or do you just pay cash when there is a medical emergency? We are both registered with HMOs in our offices so no problem there. 6. How do you handle extended family demands and expectations? This is the tricky part. Left to my husband, all our money will go towards this but he trusts my judgement. Thus, we discuss any payment we want to make. It can be as little as how much we give as offerings, a colleague is getting married, do i loan this person money, etc. It is not always perfect cos i tend to nag a lot when we don't hit our my savings threshold. Do you operate a single or double income household. Double income The reason for this post is to help younger ones coming into marriage understand the reality of marriage beyond the glitz and glamour For the parts you didn't mention, I ensure he spends at least 10% of his monthly income on himself. If not he can wear rags just so that he can have something to give out. And you know for his position, he needs to maintain some semblance of affluence. As for me, he buys me stuff cos i find it hard buying expensive things for myself. I remember as a student, the most expensive shoe i had was the one he bought for me. I used to save my spending money to buy now useless shares. For my kids, i do most of the buying for them cos he is just out of his league on that one and also foodstuff. Also, i ensure I pay the nanny myself so that they know i am their employer, lol. Importantly, if any request for assistance is to be paid, it is usually from the other spouse's account just a way of us letting you know that the person is aware. This is to avoid people sneaking around thinking they are playing on someone's intelligence. The badside of that is that if someone is not given, they tend to think it cos of the other spouse. We have people we support monthly and that comes out of my account. Don't know why we just defaulted to this but it is what it is. Hope i didn't bore anyone. |

Is he for real? N5,000 monthly for 25 million people will be N1.5t per year. This is apart from the free food and etc he noted there. How much is the budget or will he start borrowing to fund these welfare/socialist programs? Instead of using the money to stimulate the economy so that they won't just be eating fish but will learn how to fish. This is just an inflationary policy that will be unworkable and unproductive.
Even going into the nitty gritty of the plan, how will the 25million be chosen? Who will administer it? How will they ensure that ghost Nigerians are not being paraded? How will they ensure that people are not cheated? Hope it won't discourage people from hustling?
I know no one is an economist, but they should have advisers on the economy na. I turn up my nose at this one. |

4. Left to be decided until the elections take place because we all know these politicians change their minds in a split second. Nopes. This is 2014 prophecy. If he meant before elections, he would have mentioned that. 9. A new N100 note was printed although not a higher denomination. Thus No. It was not a true prophecy. He specifically said higher denomination. 11. YES. there were accusations of embezzlement with a number of delegates dying during its course. Although I cannot explicitly state its the worst. Read his prophecy again. He said it will end up with fights and cries of embezzlement. It did not and it was not the worst. 12. *rolls eyes* Didn't see that happening. Exactly. 13. YES There were a number of bombings in kenya http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_Nairobi_bus_bombings although this is a bogus prophecy, as Kenya has been a victim of several bombings in the past years. Remember the Shopping Mall Bombing in September 2013. Okay i will concede to this. 14. YES Several attempts were made the latest being 160+ signatories from the house of representatives in November calling for his impeachment. His prophecy said he will survive impeachment. No impeachment motion was tabled before the national assembly thus no need to survive. 16. Several rumors but nothing concrete as they resolved their differences all the time. He said fight dirty. I waited for the dirt but just clean jabs thrown that were just rumours. 25. Oba of Benin's lost his first wife earlier in the year. Come on, You know what he implied with that sentence. 28.
