To the surprise of many, Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo of Gombe State has emerged winner of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election poll. The online poll conducted by national newspaper, Daily Trust drew response from 17,925 respondents who were asked to respond to the question: “Who is the best candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)?” The respondents had an option of choosing between Dankwambo, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Senate President Bukola Saraki or Sen. Rab’iu Musa Kwankwaso. While Dankwambo scored 68 percent of all votes cast, Atiku and Saraki got 11 percent each and Kwankwaso got 10 percent. Atiku, Saraki and Kwankwaso had led the charts in previous polls of the same nature. Dankwambo is a 56-year-old former Accountant General of the Federation and former Accountant General of Gombe. He is presently serving his second term as governor of the North Eastern state. Dankwambo, while declaring his presidential ambition on August 4, said, “After wide consultations with party members & Nigerians of diverse backgrounds! I, Dr Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo will be running for office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the platform of our great party, the People’s Democratic Party.” Like all 11 other presidential aspirants of the party, Dankwambo is presently in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where the National Convention of the PDP is ongoing. The presidential flagbearer of the party will emerge from the convention. |

When two people have a joint credit card account , they can both make charges to the credit card and the card ’ s history is included on their credit report . Both people are also liable for the credit card payments . When the payments become delinquent, the credit card issuer can go after either cardholder for payment .If you are thinking about getting a joint credit card with a partner, spouse , or child , knowing the pros and cons will help you decide whether it is a good idea, according to www . thebalance . com . Advantages of joint credit cards You share a bill: When you and the other person , your spouse for example , have one rent, one electricity bill, one cell phone bill, it seems only natural to share a credit card bill. Having one less bill to pay can let you make the most of your income . Plus, when it is time to pay off your debt , you will have an easier time deciding which card to pay back first . Help one person get better credit: Adding a spouse or family member with bad credit to your credit card can help them get better credit . But it will only work if the credit card is managed right ; if the bill is paid on time and the balance is kept low. Help one person get a credit card / good interest rate where they otherwise would not : Being added as a joint user might be the only way to get your spouse a credit card , or to get her a low interest rate. Disadvantages of having a joint credit card Both people are legally responsible for making the payments : That means the credit card issuer can take legal action against you for charges you might not have made . You could even be sued and have your wages garnished. Credit card disagreements could cause relationship problem : In a poll conducted for CreditCards . com, 19 per cent of respondents who shared a credit card said they had arguments with the other person about the account . Seven per cent said they would cancel a shared credit card because it caused relationship problems . Breakups or divorce make it hard to manage the credit card : No matter what a divorce decree says , the credit card issuer holds you to the original credit card agreement . So , if your ex - spouse is not paying his or her share of the credit card bills , your credit can still be affected. It is even harder to manage the credit card bill if you sever ties with someone you were dating or even a friend or family member. One person could use the credit card to hurt the other . It sounds childish, but it happens , often after a breakup . One cardholder could go on a revenge spending splurge , leaving the other cardholder with the bill. If the revenge-seeker already has bad credit , she (or he ) has nothing to lose from a maxed out credit card or a few more late payments . Should you share a credit card? It is wiser to keep separate credit cards. Before you make the decision to get a joint credit card , evaluate your reasons for sharing a credit card . In the CreditCards . com survey , only nine per cent of respondents said they felt closer to the person after sharing a credit card . Similarly, nine per cent said they felt more in control of the relationship. |

[quote author=Queenrabella post=70316375]Hi, Rabella here again or Bella for short. Seeing as this is an anonymous forum; I decided to put this out here to get opinions of others as I am unable to summon the courage to discuss this with my friends or anyone for that matter. Ok straight to it. I’ve been with my boyfriend for three years, he is the first person I ever had a proper sexual relationship with so I am not very experienced at all. We hadn’t had sex in a while due to distance but fate had it we were able to break that as he now lives in the same city as myself. So after a few months of no sex, he comes over to mines and things get steamy very quickly next thing, he was on top of me when half way through he held the top of my neck and pressed on it or more like strangled it, I was literally gasping for air then he noticed and stopped. We finished and that was that. No mention of the whole ‘event’ where I was almost suffocated.) BUT U ENJOY AM ABI |

If you are planning to move to Abuja permanently or maybe for a few years, here’s a few things you need to know about the city. It is a relatively new city and it was planned to be the Nation’s capital from inception so it is well-organised and has good security compared to other Nigerian cities. It is home to all of Nigeria’s top politicians who are notorious for corruption and stupendous wealth. There is a ton of money amongst a very small circle of people and this has made property REALLY expensive. A decent 5-bedroom duplex in Asokoro/Maitama will set you back a million dollars (>N300m). A fully serviced two-bedroom apartment rental in Wuse is about eight–ten thousand dollars annually (>N2M) including utilities such as a stand-by generator to supplement the erratic power supply. As a result, most of Abuja residents actually live in satellite towns and settlements. I would say 60%. So in the evenings, the roads are so empty and quiet. Its a serene environment if you like that kind of thing. Most businesses are tailored for the rich (see #2). So most restaurants, hotels, bars and salons are tres expensive. Unless, you parley with a local and have him/her show you more affordable options. Speaking of hotels, we have a Hilton and a Sheraton; old but reliable. Also there's a fair selection of restaurants, so you can find Chinese, Italian, Indian, American and Ethiopian food at least that I know of. School fees at a choice private school (elementary-high school//primary-secondary school) is between $3,000-$6,000 annually (i.e. >N300k a term) Unless you parley with a local and find cheaper options. Transportation is affordable. An uber anywhere within town will hardly cost up to $4 (N1,500) Health care is fair. While there are good government hospitals, you’d probably feel safer at the much better equipped and staffed private hospitals. No need to guess, they are expensive. There is an abundance of religious presence. Churches preaching prosperity at every corner and the great Central Mosque in the centre of the city. The night life is fun if you know what you’re doing but it can easily get monotonous. Abuja people eat at expensive restaurants and then go to the club. That's it. Eat food. Pop Champagne. Repeat. Not many concerts. No music festivals. No comedy clubs. No broadway. There are a few funky live bands though… (shout out to Blake Excellent Resort) Other fun activities are; seeing a movie at the Jabi Lake Mall or Silverbird galleria, visiting the amusement park, bowling, a few clubs do karaoke, hitting the gym at bodyline, golfing at IBB golf course, playing polo/horse-riding at the Guard’s brigade ranch, visiting the Yar’adua centre or visiting gurara falls and a new boat club just opened at the Jabi Lake. Abuja has a really big expat community because of all the NGOs and global partners with their head offices here. It is important to note that most of the people in Abuja are not rich and you can actually lead a pretty modest and affordable life but this will involve you living outside of the city centre. This not only increases your commute by a whole lot(you’ll have to scratch #6) but the farther you are from the city centre, the less safe your neighbourhood is. And you can wave your night life good-bye. Otherwise, I love this city and I would endorse it to all who dare conquer

My wife took my phn and deleted my girlfriend Bisi's number and saved her own number as Bisi. You see, someone had told my wife about Bisi my gf but i didn't knw. I then got an sms from Bisi asking for mobile money 250,000. I rushed to my wife and lied to her that i needed 250k for an emergency. I told her that my mother was sick and needed the money urgently. My wife gave me the money and i rushed to send it to the account number written in the message. She did not acknowledge receipt of the money, when i was relaxing at home after work, i kept wondering if Bisi had received the money. I sent her an sms to find out if she had received the money. Her response was ,"call me now" i got out of the house to make the call. YOU CAN IMAGINE MY HORROR WHEN MY WIFE ANSWERED THE CALL INSTEAD OF BISI!!. It's been three days nd i'm still standing outside. Wondering how to go back to my own house. Experts pls what do i do? |

One politician i believe in. No matter what. Go ahead and check who this man is from time come now. Mention his faults and i will tell you his role. |
Am begining to imagine, it's almost as if the government actually has a master plan,in the scheme of things to make sure people don't succeed or financially and economically free and emancipated. We are excellent at abstracting away problems- corruption, tribalism, religion, illiteracy and so on listening to the usual suspects. . |
Blakjewelry:I support those words from you. I guess it one of the main challenges nigerians ar facing today. |
Ok, lets say you're made of steel and not given up you quest to survive and escape poverty by now,if you're into manufacturing, you won't be able to find the machinery, tools and the right workers trained for the job in the country. When you decide to import these items, then that where the nigerian customs, men who have sworn to make life as miserable as possible for any business person in the country, thats where the take over in perpetuating the suffering you have been experiencing. These men cook up any charge they can both those by book and off them in order to extort money from businesses and individualz. Often there is multiple taxation, lobbying and looting of goods at port, collecting money from importers using several and meticulously arranged and intricate schemes. |
Power is the engine of any economy, take it or leave it. Most businesses in nigeria can't survive because of electricity, some even as of this, after surviving this, they are tax with various atrocious and trumpt up levies and "revenues" that most business die naturally within a period of one year. Then there isn't a motorable road to transport your goods and services. And if you decide to defy these death traps called road in the country, there is an almost endless supply of armed men to you called ''POLICE'' at every intersection especially in the eastern part of the country. These armed threaten you and their mission is to collect as much valuables and cash from you as possible but claim to be your friend. |
A lot of patriotic Nigerians may not be happy with my answers so i have to apologise before i continue. Beside corruption, there is lack of effective upward social mobility in the country. Back in the day when life was simple, it used to be pretty straight forward: go to school, work very hard, get good grades and get a really awesome employment offer. (NOW IT'S NO LONGER THAT SIMPLE) Youth unemployment, country, is probably on it's highest level ever in the country. We almost have the highest number of young persons below the age of 25 in the entire world yet our politicians can't think beyond easy oil money. It's almost impossible for an individual born in poverty to escape that in life no matter how hard they try or struggle. No job, how do you start up a business? Apart from that other possible barriers. MORE WRITE UP ON THIS IN A MOMENT |
This is really quite an interesting and thoughtful question. This is not a love post, so many of you might find it difficult to comment. Nothing to insult here. |
