Thanks Dear missade: My dear Lagos decides today! Though I’m not there to vote myself, I’m praying for a successful outing where the ppl go out to exercise their civic responsibility. Hoping that all the security agencies are at alert and do their jobs properly.
This contest seems even hotter than the presidency, lol. Following eagerly, to all those upset about the Oro festival, pls update if this hindered you in anyway. Let’s have videos and numbers to tweet/call in case of any issues ( God forbid)
#SayNoToViolence #SayNoToVoteBuying #VoteCompetence
Lastly pls be observant of their environment o. Don’t be reckless and end up on a T-shirt/SM trying to be brave. Observe carefully and properly evaluate your safety. |

Nigerian Labour law actually allows verbal offers if the contract duration is less than 3 months.
Where the contract is longer than that, Employers also have up to 3 months to issue an offer letter.
Not supporting the oppression by Nigerian companies, just saying, it is not an illegality.

Wow!! I just saw this post after I dropped a similar message. Things seem to work upside down in Nigeria. And people keep hailing this abnormality. God help us. gidgiddy: Whenever I see pictures like these, I am reminded how backwards Nigeria is
A security personnel flogging a human being with a whip!
In more civilised countries, if you flog a Dog, you could face a hefty fine as well as law suits from Animal rights groups
But here in Nigeria, people actually cheer and support their security agents to commit abuse of power and human rights, such ad flogging
We still have a long long way to go |

Please, I wish to know:
Do soldiers in other countries flog civilians in this manner, or does this happen only in Nigeria?
Just asking o, as I never even reach international airport before.
What happened to handling the culprit over to NDLEA or the Police? |

Lol. Which kind lie be dis. I'm sure you're just catching cruise. I checked the time to trek from Mushin to Ajah on Google Map, it said "1 day, 4 hours" SmartGadgetz: I trek from mushin to Ajah for work everyday. Now my official shoe heel is completely flat like canvas.
Normally, I wake up from sleep each morning by 3am to take my bath, dress up and off to trekking by 4:am.
Sometimes, very early in the morning while in my way to work, anytime I get fo the 3rd mainland bridge, one mind always tell me to jump into the river due to frustration, the other mind will at the same time tell me to present like someone that want to jump inside the lagoon to get people attention that I may jam my destiny helper while doing this...

It is well. Thank you. Nigeria's democracy obviously has a long way to go, then. BluntCrazeMan: That is what we call “LOOPHOLES” in the ordinary layman's language.. And the Politicians are taking advantage of these loopholes to cause more confusion. |

Thank you Sir/Ma, Maybe I'm just impatient with all these cos I have a background in the sciences. 😃😃 I mean, I expected that some facts, like these (the powers of the tiers of government) should so clear and indisputable. Calibrator: Your last statement is one of the curses of democracy..... Every democratic law is subjective and open to different perspectives.
This is why we have the legal institutions to argue things out. |
Politics › Re: “Supreme Court Order” Versus “Presidential Address”: Which One Supersedes? by Blessed4sure: 6:16am On Feb 17, 2023 |
Why is there so much confusion on this thread?
Are there no lawyers on Nairaland who can quote the law on this matter?
Or is our law that subjective? |

Education › Re: Lagos Government Shuts Chrisland School Over Whitney Adeniran’s Death by Blessed4sure: 8:11am On Feb 13, 2023 |
Why must you abuse every Nigerian to pass across your opinion. People who have taken courses in safety and security would be aware that, following an incident, stopping work and cordoning off an area is the right course of action, to prevent a reoccurrence. Safety should be first in everything. Throwback: How does shutting down the school aid the investigation?
They should have shut down all schools in Lagos then.
I guess the school premises turned her tongue black?
I now see Nigeria Police is actually as foolish as the Nigerian people from whom they are derived from. |
Education › Re: Lagos Government Shuts Chrisland School Over Whitney Adeniran’s Death by Blessed4sure: 8:06am On Feb 13, 2023 |
Yes, it's fully in order to close down the school for a few days to conduct the first round of investigations. So far it's not a lengthy shutdown. Especially when the school is frequently in the news for bad reasons It's better to be safe than sorry, and losing a few days or weeks is better than than losing one's life. Unless you have established the fact that what led to the student's death is incapable of hurting others. BlueRayDick: I already mentioned it that all concerned parties should be invited by the panel of inquiry and useful information obtained from them to know the role each person played in the tragic incident . And yes this can be done with the school still opened .
Closing the school down is just denying other students the right to learn . |

You paid 750 (I assume that's #750) to enter an amusement park. (That's less than $2) I'm very sure that's not in Lagos. Anyway, perhaps that accounts for the poor service quality. The park is probably struggling to survive. |

Hmmm You're very right. But please try to forgive him. Forgiveness is Christ's way. Please, try to visit him and then continue to send him a token that you can afford. Xyzee: Stop playing! There is nothing like curses anywhere especially as a child of God. Once you give your life to Christ, you are a new creature and old things have passed away.
I have a parent who never was there in my growing up until I became successful, he has been cursing me since I became an adult (I no send him papa) and the more he curses, the more I become successful and when people go to tell him how I have been so successful, he claims me at that moment before them. After they leave, he sends more curses. Lol
So OP, nobody can curse you as long as you have God by your side. |
Business › Re: CBN Cashless Policy Is Good For POS Business by Blessed4sure: 6:52pm On Dec 07, 2022 |
This policy will rapidly increase the use of POS by business outlets as they'll receive payments by deducting from buyers' account using ATM cards. (As an alternative to transfers using USSD, apps and internet banking).
I.e there'll be rapid increase in payment with cards, which is the aim of the CBN. This will help to improve Nigeria's financial intelligence operations.
But the POS business run by operators will be greatly affected. |

Oga, do you know how much it'll take to feed 300 million Nigerians for a day? At a paltry rate of #500 per individual: #500 * #300,000,000 = 150 Billion per day Multiply that by 365 days per year and 400 years You'll realise Nigerian government has probably never generated up to that amount since its existence. I'm not in anyway exonerating Atiku, but let's be careful of figures we throw around. successmatters: "The money Atiku looted from Nigeria is enough to feed 300 million Nigerians for 400 years" Olusegun Obasanjo
