If it were in Ghana, tax will certainly be paid. There are provisions for it in Ghana. Advalorem tax is what is usually paid on commodities. Gift is classified as income that is a benefit that flows in, and which is taxable in the hands of the recipient.

The Department of Guidance and Counseling, Office of the Head of the Civil service has called on the successful Candidates who made documentation into the Nigerian Custom Service to ensure revalidation of their Indigene certificates
A statement signed by the Director Guidance and Counseling on the office Ibrahim Abdullahi said the exercise was directed by the Comptroller General, Nigerian Custom Service, Hameed Ali and scheduled to take place between December 14 and December 25th, 2021.
It directed the successful candidates to report at the office of the Head of the Civil Service for the revalidation unfailingly.

This means that FIRS will be in charge of the collection of customs duties if this becomes a law. And Customs will be constituted to be a fully fledged military body securing the borders of the country. And probably the name could be changed along the line so as to remove the customs in Nigeria customs service.

The Rector, Arc Olusegun Aluko,Ph.D has declared that henceforth presentation of evidence against COVID-19 is one of the prerequisite for writing examinations by the students of the institution.

The Rector made this declaration during the flagging off ceremony of the COVID-19 MASS VACCINATION FOR TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS in Ogun State by the Hon. Commissioner of Health, Dr. Tomi Coker.

The Rector reiterated that the institution has been actively involved in the war against covid-19 since the virus reared it's ugly head late in 2019 with the designing and fabrication of carious covid-19 preventive and management equipment such as the ventilator, hand washing and sanitizing machine electrically operated disinfectant booth among others. He therefore assured the Commissioner of the readiness and willingness of both staff and students of the Polytechnic in the success of the vaccination process.

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker eulogised the institution and its management for not only its academic excellence but its forefrot status and cooperation in the fight against the dreaded Covid-19 virus

She also hinted that to emphasize the importance of vaccination exercise, the state government has given civil servants and other state holders in the state six months ultimatum to either get vaccinated or be denied access to government services and activities.

Present at the flagging off ceremony were members of the institution's management team, top functionaries in the state's ministry of health and representatives of the World Health Organization.
