It actually depends on your income and hers and whether you will want to put funds together, to pay for bills. As a single lady how much does she give her parents monthly? l and hubby work, at the end of the month, i send my to my parent while hubby sends to his. We also put money together to take care of bills. It depends on you whichever way you want it. You can discus with your fiance. It is not compulsory to send to hers. |

Family › Re: Living With My Married Elder Sister by blessedaunty: 12:22pm On Jun 18, 2020 |
Adunny07: Please I just really need someone to talk to about this and I will like your candid advise..So since my older sis got married I always come to her house and spend few weeks or months and go back, all thru my university days whenever school is not on session I always come down here to spend time with her and her husband. Truth be told the husband is a very nice man and has helped me always financially, anytime I come here once my sister welcomes me the first day like this, from the second day she leaves all her house chores for me, I mean everything and she just relaxes...at times I get really tired and don't even feel like doing those chores but because most times when I come visiting she is heavy ( pregnant) so most times I just help her... thing is my sister doesn't appreciate all my effort, most times she complains self its the hubby that tells her that I am hardworking and at least she should give me credit for all I do. Now the reason why am writing this is because am done with service (NYSC) and as it is its like I have to stay in her house because the state where she stays has more job opportunities compared to where our parents live...she stays in Abuja...I have been down with malaria for few days now and I have been on treatment, just because I can't do certain house chores because am not too strong my sis started complaining saying I can't be living in her house and be waking up whenever i like...mind you I was always the first that wakes up when I wasn't sick, in fact I will wash the dishes, sweep, mop daily, cook food, bath her children and all those things..the only thing she does is to bath her youngest baby, but now because for these few days she has been doing those work I do daily she is already saying she can't tolerate me sleeping and not waking up on time. My question is this, does she have the right to be so angry at me because she is doing her house chores? I feel its her house and so she doing her house chores herself shouldn't be a problem since am not too strong to help her do it. She herself just sweep and doesn't mop, but she expects me to sweep and mop everyday...should i just go back to my parents house and get a job there? me renting my own house is not an option because am a lady and am just 22...please i need you guys advice, what can I do? You people complain too much. If you can't do house chores kindly leave her house for her you must not stay there. If you think there are more job opportunities in the place, she is living endure, when you get a job, you move. Do think it is easy to feed an extra mouth. |

anslem04: Apparently OP husband has no reason to think like men on forbes list, a name without continuity is as lifeless as "Remembrance" denotes. when these men are long gone "who will represent "gates" "bryant" "obama 50yrs time lemme guest daugthers with another man last names, obama becums other names, sebi you fill jamb form. LOL ! see mumu, i expect to see names of women that had there father's name behind their husband's name, dangote, jonathan, atiku, buhari daughters are married .. google there last name as mrs, hyphenate my burnt ass. A life without representation is as inanimate as the word " remembrance" every man needs a heir to keep his line. name is - line + , one will alway bring life without d other put a tester on it Should we also be aware of feminist, the real ones dress to work like men tho! many are hideous lesbians People with this kind of mentality are the reason why Africa is so backward. When you think, you amount to nothing when you don't have a male child. It is so unfortunate. |
Family › Re: Why Your Diasporan Friends And Family Do Not Send You Money When You Ask. by blessedaunty: 6:31pm On May 31, 2020 |
eazzzy1: Are you a Nigerian? do you have friends and family in diaspora or home who are doing well for themselves but will ignore your request to send money all the time? before you call them stingy or wicked, here are some of the reasons why rich friends do not give out money;
1. They don't have enough: Enough is subjective, someone can earn as much as $100,000/annum but feel he's not earning enough, some people have these dreams of being wealthy and that salary isn't sufficient to get them there. So you have a friend/relative who works in a big firm abroad, you think he's rich, he thinks he isn't earning enough. Even millionaires have needs too.
2. You are not the only one making financial demands: You think you are his best friend because you went to secondary school together and were seat mate or bunk mates in the hostel so automatically he should be predisposed to meeting your needs, well there are primary school best friends, university best friends, first love, NYSC best friends, Neighbours, uncles, aunties, brothers etc who think their request should be met too. It is impossible to meet all these needs.
3. Making financial demand is never a one time thing: I had this habit of giving money to people who ask for financial favors the first time. I thought since they never asked for such before, they must really be in need. I soon found out that after that first time they run to me whenever they need money again, sometimes they space out the request like two months, some every month etc. I then realize that the $100, $200 i send them is never going to be sufficient, they will always come back for more. So i joined the God will provide gang.
4. Yahoo boys : Not every fraudster hacks into companies accounts, or forge the accountants signature, or even find lonely older women/men to scam. Some yahoo boys have resorted to begging, they send you message of how their dad is dying in the hospital, how their sister got arrested for a crime she didn't commit and they need a lawyer bla bla, they call these lies format and once you send them money they pop champagne and call you client.
5. General realization : One day i was going through my bank statement and i noticed i gave out about $500 monthly to family and friends. The same me who will walk into H & M, see a shirt of $40 and think it's too costly. I either buy it grudgingly or wait till it's on sale to buy. I realized i wasn't taking care of myself enough. Most people will come to this realization at a point in their lives.
This thread isn't limited to just people abroad, it include people who work and earn who are home based too. How do you cope with demands?Diasporans what made you rethink your generousity?
Feel free to add yours. This is generally applicable to most people working in Nigeria. You discover that you are actually working for other people. As soon as salary is paid, so many family members and friends will call you reqesting for money. They will not even care if you have enough to take care of yourself or not. Most of this family members you see them wearing expensive dresses that you personally see as luxury. But they will buy such clothes and still call you for money. |

Scaredd: I've noticed on similar threads seeking migration advice to Canada that almost everyone advises leave the country and I'm like "is it so good in Canada?
The only reason I want to travel to Canada or any other high profile country is to make far more money than I make in Nigeria.
Now, by the Grace of God I earn over 800k monthly with promising potentials for more. I'm 32yrs and planning to settle down next year, but with so many advises saying "leaving the country to Canada is the best choice", I'm so confused right now as per what's the best choice for me. I even watched a video where a guy living in canada said he spent upto 400k monthly on expenses.
So, I want to ask and need advise from anyone living in Canada. Would you advise someone earning 800k monthly in Nigeria to leave for Canada?
Your input is highly appreciated. It also depends on your kind of job. Do you have a job security? if yes then staying back is better, but if no then migrate. |

FactBoyz: In this season of scandals against pastors, it is important that Christians must be watchful even though I dont support rape, this could be a deliberate attempt by the enemy to make people quit God and Church...
Remember, if a highly placed religious person commits a sin you dont expect; you dont have to be surprised.. DONT EXPECT TOO MUCH FROM ANYONE. Anyone can sin as led by his lust.
Your job as a Christian is to pray for them not judge them.. If they truly repent, God will forgive them....
God has already forgiven fatayinbo.. if he has prayed. Heaven is a one man's race not a church race..
Nb:My comment is not for atheists! His forgiveness begins when he seeks forgiveness from the rape victim, if not there is no forgivenss for him. |

Jayslicky: Nonsense and gibberish, if a person tries to rape you and you can't scream or fight such person without been threatened with a weapon then it is obvious you wanted it except you were drugged. Once you sleep with someone less than 18 years of age it is called statutory rape. So whether she shouts or not. |

KingAzubuike: If I was fatoyinbo, I'd sue that idiot for defamation and blackmail. These women can be very devilish. They wait for you to be successful and popular before telling the whole world of a rape case that happened in 1945. There's no single evidence yet but see how people are already against an innocent fatoyinbo. God will fight for him. Oga, leave that 1945 issue, most women who are raped or sexually molested live with it for the rest of their lives and never forgives or forgets especially when the rapist carrys on as if not has happened. The only healing process is to speak out. |
