My baby has sensitive skin too so i changed my baby wash to baby dove sensitive bodywash (it is hypoallergenic and good for sensitive skin); this was recommended by my baby's paediatrician. I also changed her lotion to sebamed baby body milk.

For mamas who treated high prolactin, did you have to be induced(clomid & the likes) for ovulation before you got your BFP ? Or did you just ovulate naturally after normalizing hormones?

I'm really looking forward to getting responses from you guys. May God grant all our heart desires, amen.

Hey mama, treatment for high prolactin for me was by using cabergoline(dostinex) twice a week. I finished the 8 tablets of 0.5mg(not too sure of the value and unit) cos i tested again exactly a month after and realized it crashed drastically so i went about my business.

I didnt need to induce to get pregnant but because high prolactin causes annovulatory cycles most gynaecologists wld want to bypass the treatment process and place you on ovulation induction medications to get you to ovulate and conceive asap. But trust me clomid or letrozole leave your ovaries with huge cysts which could sometimes be functional. Some suffer from other horrible types of cysts with pains that calls for surgical intervention. Clomid is a culprit for extreme dryness and thinning of your endometrium thickness which is essential for implantation of fertilized eggs. I can never advice anybody i know to take clomid or letrozole or it likes except it is well monitored via transvaginal scans and you take trigger shots to ensure the follicles release the eggs.

My advice from my experience is that you crash the level low and leave the rest to God to do His work and trust me God will.

Since we are still in the first trimester a scan at this stage should be able to give u a more accurate EDD.

Congratulations!!! Please look at the positive side and count it all joy that God has deemed it fit to bless you once again. I am also currently 6 weeks pregnant and my baby is just 5 months plus.
One thing i know is that God doesnt give you something beyond your capability. He will make it easy for you; this has been my prayer point every day. My major concern is the incision site as i also delivered via emergency CS; i hope yours is completely healed?

No mother deserves to lose a child regardless of the circumstances. @patking, I'm so so sorry, words cannot comfort you only God can and i pray He does. Please be consoled!!!

Hormonal profiling is best done day 2 or 3 of your cycle for proper interpretation . From my little understanding as a former ttc mama, i will be taking reference from follicular phase i think ur lh to fsh ratio is high(2:1) indicative of pcos but ur dr must establish this diagnosis from transvaginal ultrasound after several scans and close monitoring.
Prolactin is elevated , this is a common problem (dont stress over this as it is easy to treat ; it was the only issue i had while i was ttcing )and is also typical with most pcos sufferers, i would recommend cabergoline(dostinex) though more expensive but effective with less side effects.

For progesterone day 21 is the best day for testing to confirm if you ovulated for the cycle. I cant say if u already ovulated even though it is high as per reference value for ovulatory phase given the test was done on day 10.

I would recommend you repeat the test on day 2 or 3 and on day 21 for progesterone. Above all work with God and your dr.

Wow. Congratulations are in order. My son was 7 months when I took in for my daughter. The Lord is your muscle. You need all the support you can get now. Don't know about continued breastfeeding, I didn't get to worry about that cos my son refused the breast at 5 months. Just take your folic acid as prescribed by moms but I think you should get to the hospital early so that you can be monitored closely. Knowledge increases everyday. I'm carrying my third baby and it's like I've never been pregnant. Everything is new to me, as my second child (previous pregnancy) is 7 years old. Wish you a smooth journey and supernatural delivery when the time comes.

Breastfeeding was a herculean task for me as my milk supply was poor and baby refused sucking so i resorting to pumping the little i could get out and then supplement with formula. As far as feeding her goes we are now on enfamil formula only and waiting for a few weeks when I can introduce semi-solids and purees.

I pray this experience is easy and different, Amen!!!

congratulations Mama,start your prenatals like folic acid or pregnacare immediately..you can continue breastfeeding as it has no effect on your baby...you will discuss further with your health care provider on the best method of delivery because your CS is not up to a year.All the best dear and welcome on board.

Good to be back here. My baby girl just clocked 5 months and i just confirmed pregnancy this morning.

Please senior and experienced mamas, what are the necessary precautions and advice to adhere to given my previous birth was via CS as i cant go to the hospital till this pandemic is well under control.

My preference for high prolactin from experience is dostinex(cabergoline) instead of parlodel in terms of effectiveness and tolerable side effects.

Not sure if that person is a doctor, but in the US once you reach 6.5-7 most hospitals do not give epidural again because it may slow down dilation process. In my last pregnancy I was telling the nurse when I was already 4.5cm that once I can get epidural they should give me. She was like I should have said it since and not suffered at all because if I reach 5 they won’t be able to administer it again. So I don’t think the theory of 7-8cm is right.

I birthed in the US and the relative is a nurse practitioner and she upholds the theory of 7-8cm so that dilation doesn't slow down.
Your theory is also in line with the explanation and advice the dr gave saying it is best done early.

1. There’s no way for you to have known you would end up having a Csection. Recovery may be a bit more difficult given that you laboured, dilated and eventually had CS.
For my daughter’s pregnancy, she was occiput posterior and I had high blood pressure. My doc put the decision in my hands and I chose CS cos from research and people’s experiences, I may still have ended up having a Csection after enduring back labour. No doubt for this baby, I’m going for another CS cos I took in when my DD turned 1; no chance of VBAC, not like I would have opted for that though

2. They administer epidural before 8cm, not later. Infact, a friend requested for hers at 8cm cos as at 7cm she wasn’t feeling the brunt of the pain yet and declined when they offered. They refused her

Modified to add that the only complaint people give after being administered epidural or spinal (for CS) is back pain. I’ve never gotten that till date

Don’t beat yourself up. You’re alive and healthy, so is baby; that’s all that matters. Don’t let guilt creep in...may lead you to PPD.

My baby is lucky to be alive. I cried several times when she took all the antibiotics shots/injections for days before we were cleared and discharged.

From my experience after enduring painful contraction pains and it ending in emergency CS i would have just opted for elective CS.

I think experienced mama should throw more light on the effect of epidural, and at what point it should be administered?? A family member insisted I should have been 7cm to 8cm dilated before given , how true is this cos the dr insisted it has no effect however when it was adminstered ??

Please above all mamas pray and pray and pray always.

My beautiful princess arrived on the 21st at 3:07am weighing 8 pounds.
Shortly after i posted about my fear and frustration of hitting the 40 weeks mark yet no labour sign, my contractions started hours after at about say 3pm that same day . I noticed bloody discharge more like spotting so i rushed to wear my disposable pant/pad, showered and cleaned up and packed my bag for essentials and toiletries. Thereafter i laid on the bed and started timing, when it was about 8 minutes apart i headed for the hospital because the hospital is about an hour away. Got to the hospital and was checked,dilation was measured as 4cm as at around 7:30pm. I was admitted and sent to labour and delivery unit, at about 9pm or so i was checked again and still measured 4cm all this while with unbearable contraction pains. At about past 10pm I begged to be checked again but progress was little just btw 4 and 5cm. I requested for epidural which is the greatest regret of my life, my spine was poked at severally and at one point i felt a shocking sensation my right side despite maintaining the arch position and still enduring contractions. I let out a scream and told the anaestician i was no longer interested, he then paged for his other colleague who i guess was his superior she came in and calmed me down and took over and in just one attempt she got it right. i immediately requested the nurse in the room with me that i only want doctors attending to me because the dilation checks and all were by midwives as i had seen no doctor at all.

I dont know if it's the epidural or not but baby became distressed as her heart rate started dropping a team of doctors about 5 rushed into the room broke my water immediately and saw meconium in the water. Dilation was checked again yet no progress and baby was becoming more and more distressed.

At about 3am of the 21st , eventually the head doctor convinced me to get a CS done asap instead of induction cos induction would further cos baby's heart rate to decline with more intense contractions. That she prefers to hand me over a healthy baby than a lifeless one. Theatre was prepared immediately and i was wheeled into the theatre for surgery, another anestesia was administered to numb my lower part and baby was brought out.
She didnt cry at first but after alll they did she let out a cry and she was rushed for further checks and treatment, they sucked out the contents in her stomach and all she swallowed and monitored her in the nursery for hours.
In all i thank God it ended in praise even though it wasn't as i expected however i have a healthy beautiful calm girl to call my own and that's all that maters.

Experienced Mamas ,
I am 40 weeks today and no sign of labour. No abnormal medical condition(high sugar or bp). Any cause for alarm?? My next hospital appointment is on friday. At this point i am tired and stressed out as a ftm.

To the Glory of God, my prince charming, my second son came on the 16th of November at 10.45am at 35weeks and 6days gestational age weighing 2.6kg via VD.

As God would have it, he has no breathing issues, he's latching and feeding well and we will be discharged today.

Hello everyone. So, I was on this group in April after realising i was pregnant but unfortunately i lost my baby in june to preterm labour at 22weeks.
To God be the glory I am pregnant again, just 6weeks and my worrying level is very high. Although I have rebuked every form of fear because God has not given me the spirit of fear but of love.
I want to be really proactive and more importantly trust God to help me carry this bundle (s) of joy to full term.

I'll like the help and contributions of other expecting mothers. Please is it too soon to go for a scan? I want to be sure my baby is fine.

Affliction shall not rise again a second time. It is well with you and the baby. You will carry to term in jesus name. Please don't entertain any fear or doubt, however please work closely with your doctor. If it was a case of cervical incompetence the last time, please get a cerclage done early enough and rest as much as you can. And above pray always and make positive declarations
