Neither are they the corrupt customs officials. They don't trade in hides and skin nor do they export palm oil from Nigeria. They don't sell clothing and electronics to west African countries from Onitsha and Aba. Nor are they involved in importing goods through Benin republic seaports. All these activities are carried out by Nigerians. It's shallow of you to think everyone is a Ghanaian or gives a Bleep about them. You don't cut your nose to spite your face.

The fact you keep talking about airfreight shows how ignorant you really are. So you think hide and skin which Nigeria exports via it's land border to Niger and Mali can be loaded by air? Do you know the cost of moving things by air? Not to mention the volume of goods that can be so moved.

FYI, Nigeria had an agreement with Benin republic to allow ships meant for Nigeria berth at her ports while the cargoes are moved into Nigeria via roads. Benin collects duties for the goods but those same goods end up getting smuggled into Nigeria. How do you now blame Benin for your ineptitude.

Thank God you've been cured of the stupidity of comparing land border to sea and air. What remains is dis madness of blaming Benin republic for the corruption and ineptitude of your customs.

Imagine asking Benin republic and Ghana to load a ship and sail it on the Atlantic to Nigeria when they can make that journey in 4-6hrs by land. Does dat sound reasonable to you?

Besides you surely can't compare the land mass between Mexico and US with that of Nigeria and Benin. Not to mention how vicious a neighbour Mexico are. Even at that, are you saying no land trade between US and Mexico now?

Coronavirus death toll surpasses 900, making it more deadly than SARS

The World Health Organisation has declared Coronavirus to be a public health emergency. What do we do now?

The death toll from coronavirus in mainland China has hit 908, making it more deadly than the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic.

China’s National Health has confirmed 3062 new infections and 97 new deaths — a new daily record.

The infection rate has escalated sharply since the beginning of the year, with only 547 cases confirmed on January 22. By February 1 there were 14,300 cases.

There are now a total of 40,553 cases of the coronavirus worldwide, including 15 infections in Australia. The death toll worldwide is now at 910.

Of those infections, 6500 are severe, according to official data.

It comes as a Chinese official confirmed a worrying new fact about the deadly coronavirus; infections are taking place through aerosol transmission.

It was previously understood that two main ways the virus transmitted from person to person were:

• Direct transmission: breathing in air close to an infected patient who sneezes or coughs, and

• Contact transmission: when a person touches an object tainted with the virus before infecting themselves by touching their mouth, nose or eyes.

However, over the weekend, an official in Shanghai confirmed the virus also travelled through aerosol transmission, which means it can float a long distance through the air and cause infection later when it is breathed in.

“Aerosol transmission refers to the mixing of the virus with droplets in the air to form aerosols, which causes infection after inhalation, according to medical experts,” Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau deputy head Zeng Qun said at press briefing on Saturday, the China Daily reports.

“As such, we have called on the public to raise their awareness of the prevention and control of the disease caused by family gatherings.

My first car was a BMW 318i sedan 1993. I gave my aunt when I had to relocate. Very reliable car. I pimped a lot in that ride. Sweet memories
