In one occasion, I wrote to lagos waste management and another agency in charge of arresting and punishing people responsible for iindiscriminate/llegal disposal of waste. I even point out the impact is having on our carnalsl till date no one has come. Who are those breaking the law against indiscriminate dumping of waste in lagos?
80% are yorubas. 0ver 60% houses built along the carnal path in my area are owned by yorubas, and I know some of this people personally.

the fact that you may be 'smart' enough to compromise some officials means nothing in the long run. i have discussed on this platform how my old boss dis multiple upgrades in the 2000s without approval. we had to do these upgrades again in the 2010s, and we paid all the retrospective fees and fines.

in all of this no one has come out to advise people [outside of omonile lawyer] on the steps they should take to protect themselves when buying or when building. but that is how we do.

it is amusing and irritating seeing people who have no idea how the process works making up empty stories . but that is the time we live in unfortunately - an ignorancecracy.

In one of the experience I had in 2017, they didn't warn anybody nor did they send any notice. Suddenly lagos govt wanted to take over remaining federal lands, all they did was, they changed some dates, unfortunately FHA was not carried along. The whole thing backfired and they backed out. They have gone ahead to claim the lower part the opposite community using lagos state power as usual. We were just lucky.

Many people are ignorant of this method. Another thing is may Nigeria never happen to us. A lot has happened recently in where I am currently residing . Some powerful senators picked interest in place, and they played an unbelievable trick. It was reported that place was full of rickety houses housing criminals and there fore marked for demolition. Over 300 houses were marked for demolition based on the official photo submitted which depicted container houses and shanty neighbourhood which never reflected the true nature of community. It took us 2 yrs to solve. That singular lesson thought me never to trust govt or anybody in govt again.

on this very nairaland there are multiple cases of dubious car dealers who sell cars with incomplete custom papers who have gotten into trouble.

Not surprising to read your comment riddled with double standards. The govt could easily mark a house for demolition, but couldn't easily tag a warning sign to the house. It is usually the case in this nigeria to blame the victim, rather than catching the criminal. Even the police are not helpful.

Where were the govt before the house was completed, and became ready for sale? Though the woman has a share in the blame,but does not simply eliminate the irresponsibility of govt officials tasked with power to ensure guildeline are strickly followed. One another hand, is nt it within residual power of the state to provide housing and protection? Why have they failed to fish out the fraudster who swindled this woman? You can applaud mediocrity for whether reasons best known in nigerian geographical entity. I want you to know one thing, it is not entirely the woman's fault. The way it all looks, the criminal will walk away free while the victim might never recover.

All demolitions are illegal for as long as the seller walks FREE in the street. It's the work of the government to arrest the developer or the seller if the house is not genuinely built.

For few days now I've been uploading about the situation I'm in after my wife confessed that i'm not the father of our first child.

She is yet to leave my house because I've not been myself yet, the whole has left me down and depressed and also sick, but i've asked her to leave my house and everybody in her family has been calling to beg. Some of her siblings are calling to plead with me to allow the children finish this term in school before sending them away, while some are calling to plead with me to allow them stay and forgive, stating that I should consider my relationship with the child. I've become the shadow of myself right now, I've lost significant weight, lost appetite and couldn't eat since last week. Nobody in my family is aware of anything happening right now because i abandoned my whole family since i married her because they Adviced me not to marry her but I insisted, that is what caused the end of my relationship with my family for the past 7 years. Please guys, I need help on how to be strong and continue my life.

When a woman is genuinely sorry you will know. The way I am seeing things, it seems the woman already has plan B and ready to move on. Man up and move on too, stop wallowing in self pity and guilt. We all are prone to make mistakes, therefore I can never judge for your shortcomings.
