Alhaji Aminu Dantata has donated ₦50 million, 10 blocks of toilets and 5 boreholes to Girls Secondary School, Dala in order to enhance girl child education in the state. This was made known by the Kano State governor's special assistant on media, Salihu Tanko Yakasai (@Dawisu).

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, who was probably the richest person in Nigeria in the 1970s, is the son of legendary businessman, Alhaji Alhassan Dantata. He is the great uncle of the current richest man in Nigeria, Alhaji Aliko Dangote (Aminu Dantata's late brother, Sanusi Dantata, was Aliko Dangote's grandfather).

Towards the end of former President Goodluck Jonathan ’ s administration , former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Mrs Diezani Alison -Madueke , was appointed Commissioner for Trade and Investment by Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit of the Commonwealth of Dominica and was handed a diplomatic passport .
This , perhaps , is why Diezani has been able to evade prosecution despite being in London for over four years .
According to Qatar- based network , Al Jazeera , the former minister may have purchased a $ 2 . 2 m choice property near the United Nations in upscale Manhattan , New York , for the Dominican Prime Minister in order to obtain the passport .
In a documentary titled, ‘ Diplomats for sale ’ , Al Jazeera reveals how politically exposed persons , including leaders of international drug cartels, purchase diplomatic passports from Caribbean countries for a fee which ranges between $ 250 , 000 and $ 2 m depending on the personality involved .
The bribe is usually paid to the leader of that country who then appoints the buyer as an ambassador or a diplomat. The buyer is subsequently issued with a diplomatic passport which gives him or her immunity from prosecution based on the Vienna Convention of 1961 .
According to the news agency , shortly before Diezani left office , there were already reports that she had allegedly stolen billions of dollars .
Worried that the incoming President Muhammadu Buhari ’ s administration might probe her , the former minister allegedly fled to London and obtained a diplomatic passport from the Prime Minister of Dominican Republic himself .
The report stated , “ In London , she ( Diezani ) is personally handed a Dominican diplomatic passport by Prime Minister Skerrit ; a passport which could shield her from criminal charges . We found documents showing a few days later that a shell company is formed in Delaware , an American state where laws mean the true owners of a company are kept secret .
“ Four months later , that shell company buys a New York apartment for $ 2 . 2 m with no mortgage . Property records confirm that the prime minister ’ s wife , Melissa, was a resident . Photos placed the Skerrit family there. Both Diezani and Skerrit deny any links to the company that bought the apartment .
“ Skerrit said the family resided there due to a kind gesture by an unnamed friend of his wife . He strongly denies any wrongdoing and says he didn ’ t demand or receive any money from Madueke . ”
The 53 - minute documentary also shows how countries like St . Lucia , Antigua and Grenada all in the Caribbean carry out such “ diplomatic passport for cash ” scam.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had in March lamented the slow pace at which the United Kingdom was handling Diezani ’ s case .

Good. Most people tend to criticize rorh but I think the man has done a good job. Before taking the job as eagles coach, we were placed 70th in world ranking and 16th in Africa, missed two nations cup, 2015 and 2017 despite winning it 2013. I can't remember when last we heard about players fighting in camp like we had with enyeama and oliseh. Players report to camp early and most players called are purely on form or some times, experience. Other coaches would have invited iheanacho but rorh was bold enough to drop him. I still do not like akpeyi but he just won player of the month in the south African league. Gernot rorh has his ups and downs but under him, we've qualified for the world cup and Afcon with a game to spare.
Only a coach of better pedigree should be considered if his contract isn't renewed

The FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ayuba Gora, says driving with the aid of Google Map using mobile phones is a serious traffic offence.

NAN reports that Mr. Gora said this at the inauguration of the 2019 Ember Months Campaign by Lugbe Unit Command of the FRSC in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to him, the law forbids motorists from using mobile phones in any form while driving, as it can lead to an accident.

He also informed motorists that the corps will soon begin enforcement of installation of speed limiting devices.

Mr Gora advised motorists, especially commercial vehicle operators, who have yet to install the device to do so.

“We will embark on massive checks of vehicles without this device soon and arrest those that disconnected the devices from their vehicles.

“It is very important that all vehicles should have the device installed in their vehicles.

“The required speed limit for commercial vehicles even on the highways should not exceed 90 km/hr for buses and taxis.

“By doing this today, we are simply reminding motorists that they must drive with care and observe traffic rules and regulations in order to make the job very easy for all of us.

“If you are arrested this period, you will not just pay fines but must be taken for emotional evaluation test in the hospital to ascertain your mental fitness before we let go,” he said.

He urged the public to dial 122 or 112 in case they noticed unusual behaviour by road users and in the event of an accident.

Mr Gora debunked speculations that the speed limit device damages car engine, saying it had nothing to do with the engine, but only cut fuel supply during attempted speeding.

“Once the vehicle reaches a predetermined top speed, the computer steps in and restricts the flow of air and fuel to the engine and even the sparks that cause combustion.

“Either way, the vehicle will be unable to exceed the top speed as determined by the car’s manufacturer.

“The problem we have with the operators of these vehicles is that, when a speed limiting device has been installed, they tamper with it. In the process of tampering by disconnecting, it leads to a problem,” he added.
