There is no need. Na to apply same law for Ganduje after his tenure.

That man is simply intolerant
I doubt you'll get that chance since he doesn't run his mouth like that. Oh well someone will eventually challenge these laws especially if they life and freedom on the line. The atheist facing death row my first example.

Magaji is facing a four-count charge, bordering on defamation of character, intentional insult, injurious falsehood and inciting disturbance against Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
How can you have free express and say insulting someone is a criminal offense? Lol alot these laws should be challenged for being unconstitutional. Most of these charges sound like civil offense.

Government are usually the main violators, mounting useless roadblocks to collect bribes and delay motorists openly.
Correct getting people to even acknowledge those road blocks are pointless is a chore. They do next to nothing to reduce crime. I've never seen an arrest at these extortion points and many other I asked never have. Certain people on this website claim they seen it once out hundreds or thousands they crossed.
PoliticsRe: Police And Government Main Violators Of Human Rights In Nigeria NOIPolls by Blue3k(op): 5:50pm On Jan 28, 2022
Lol I'm surprised reducing government power and presence in daily life isn't the obvious solution. Its shouldn't be any surprise the government is main violator of human rights. The only thing that's weird to to me is so called friends and family violating rights. You clearly need new friends if that's the case.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the poll results have revealed that most Nigerians disclose that human right violation is prevalent in the country. For instance, 30 percent of Nigerians reported that their rights have been infringed on before while few claimed that they know people whose rights have been violated. It is worrisome to note that 28 percent of adult Nigerians whose rights have been violated before reported that the Police and government officials ranked highest amongst others who violated these rights.

Given that the police and government officials ranked highest, it is therefore, imperative for routine retraining and reorientation of law enforcement officers across all cadres and government officials on what constitutes human rights as part of efforts to protect the masses.

Finally, as recommended by 27 percent of adult Nigerians, frequent sensitization of the citizenry on their fundamental human rights through seminars, academic work, and books that portray such rights should be implemented. The sensitization campaigns should focus more on those who violate these rights. Lastly, as suggested by 15 percent of Nigerians, laws should be enforced to prosecute violators as this will serve as a deterrent to other violators of people’s human rights.

Lol another loss for the federal government. When they finally get around to the VAT the federal government will need to rework the constitution. The best part of the article is Rivers is the only beneficiary because they didn't tolerate unconstitutional laws and took action. Hopefully the VAT has the same precedent.

According to the court, Rivers State will be the only beneficiary from the deduction and not the 35 States.

Ganduje's hand has been itching to sign death warrant since he became governor.
The same thing he said in 2020 that he will sign the death warrant of the singer that they accused of blaspheming their prophet Mohammed without hesitation.

Now this one.

At least this time the person actually committed a crime that warrants capital punishment aka execution.
No he's just selective about who he wants to kill. He likes attention so he picks high profile stories to comment on. There's death row inmates awaiting execution in Kano he's done nothing about.
PoliticsRe: Hanifa Abubakar: I Won't Hesitate To Sign Death Sentence Of Killers - Ganduje by Blue3k(op): 8:56pm On Jan 25, 2022
Our constitution provides that, when a death sentence is passed, it is the constitutional power of the governor to assent for the execution of the culprit. I assure you all that, I will not waste even one second.
The constitution and its pointless redundancies. That section of the constitution should be deleted. This is the reason why there's a backlog of executions.

Trial judges should simply be tasked with signing off on the execution since they convicted the person after hearing all the evidence. They legislator would simply need to stipulate a time frame when execution date needs to be settled like 90 days after convictions barring any appeals in between. The governor role should simply be pardon or commute sentences.

PoliticsHanifa Abubakar: I Won't Hesitate To Sign Death Sentence Of Killers - Ganduje by Blue3k(op): 8:54pm On Jan 25, 2022
Kano — Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State yesterday vowed not to hesitate to sign the death sentence for the alleged killer of the five-year-old schoolgirl, Hanifa Abubakar if sentenced to death by the court.

Governor Ganduje's stance came as the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, called for public execution of the school proprietor, Abdulmalik Muhammad Tanko, who kidnapped and murdered his pupil in Kano if convicted by a court.

The governor spoke yesterday during a condolence visit alongside his Deputy, Dr. Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, Majority Leader, State House of Assembly, Labaran Abdul Madari and other top government functionaries, to the family's residence in Dakata/Kawaji.

Ganduje in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar, said "We have good confirmation from the court handling the process that, justice would be done. No stone would be left unturned.

"Whoever is found guilty of this heinous offence will also face death without wasting any time. As a government, we have already started the process. Our constitution provides that, when a death sentence is passed, it is the constitutional power of the governor to assent for the execution of the culprit. I assure you all that, I will not waste even one second."

On the speed of the proceeding, he assured that there would be a speedy dispensation of justice, adding that, the "Government will take good care of the family of our late child, Hanifa of blessed memory."

Meanwhile, the First Lady, Aisha Buhari, called for public execution of the suspect if convicted by the court.

Recall that an Islamic scholar had suggested that Tanko, who was arrested for kidnapping and killing Hanifa Abubakar, a pupil under his care, be executed publicly to serve as a deterrence.

Backing the cleric, Asha Buhari who said in Hausa that "he (the suspect) should be killed just the way he murdered the little girl. And this should be done openly for everyone to see. Let it serve as a deterrent to others."

The First Lady shared a video and captioned in Hausa meaning: "We support Mallam's judgment" and called on the attention of the Inspector-General of Police and Attorney-General of the Federation to the matter.

These bandits are bullies. They run away to neighboring states when the army gives them the slightest resistance. If you start blowing their heads off they'll bother someone else.

Its possible and it happened because lock downs were imposed. The lock down effected mainly small and medium business and industries arbitrary deemed not essential by the government. This phenomenon has been seen worldwide. This outcome was obvious but screaming covid is the only excuse needed to justify any government action no matter the cost.

Are you claiming NBS lied when they report how bad the Economy got? If you have you own data to debunking them go ahead.

Kofi Busia, invoke the Aliens Compliance Order and deport an estimated 2.5-million undocumented African migrants, the majority of whom were Nigerians.
Shehu Shagari, the Nigerian leader who favoured long hats, declare the expulsion of an estimated two million undocumented migrants living in the country. Half of them were Ghanaian.
General Muhammadu Buhari (Nigeria’s current president) announced another expulsion — this time, of all foreigners, including those who had residence permits. About 700 000 were again forced out.
One of these things is not like the other.

Nigeria has never officially apologised to Ghana for 1983 and 1985 and Ghana has never apologised for 1969.
Nobody needs to apologize for enforcing their immigration laws. If any illegal actions took place they can apologize for that. Other than that its a dead if any amount of logic is applied to it.

Rockhousecafe2:
Some perspective. Insightful.
Most dont take this position on here because they dont care about immigration laws. The conversation seems to revolve around who started first not is it right or wrong.

I don't agree with this behavior. You shouldn't arbitrarily kick out legal residents if they didn't commit crime and their permits haven't expired. That's clearly wrong.

Nigeria expelled two million undocumented West African migrants, half of whom were from Ghana. The sturdy, checked bags into which they packed their belongings have become a symbol of exclusion and intolerance.
Lol why is suddenly controversial to enforce immigration laws? Illegal immigration shouldn't be tolerated. The right to live and work in the country is exclusive to its citizens and who ever is granted permission to so. If Nigeria and most other countries did a better job enforcing it's immigration laws there'd probably be less issues.

In Kumasi, stores owned by Nigerians were forcefully shut last August for not complying with harsh national laws. The laws disregard ECOWAS agreements that encourage free trade.
There is no ECOWAS protocol or law that prevents nations from restricting business foreigners can venture into. Notice nobody cited the supposed law when speaking on this issue. I dont know where this lie came from Ghana has broken no rule on the books. The free trade protocol allows member states to trade with little to no tariffs with each other. Nigeria is actually the one breaking that rule with the import ban list.
